If I am ordering an almost $ 10 coffee, I had better get it in whatever cup I damn well please. «We can’t put espresso drinks in a trenta cup». I call bs. Especially when EVERY other time I’ve been in, it has been no problem. I had to alter the drink I pay for, to suit a policy they’ve never enforced.

This Starbucks location at University Village is the largest of the three corporate Starbucks stores at this upscale shopping mall. It is also the most popular one as it is often crowded with customers with a mix of shoppers, students and working people. The store is located in a corner space next to MAC Cosmetics and Kiehl’s. This location has many types of seating available with window seating on the perimeter and outside seating as well. As far as the selection goes, this is one of the better Starbucks to go to as they offer Starbucks Reserve coffees. I stopped by this coffee shop on a weekday afternoon and found it full of people. There was limited seating available. This is comparable to what you will encounter at the Starbucks on University Way which also has this issue of being crowded. Ended up having to settle for one of the window seats to work away on the Google Wi-Fi here which was alright. I do much prefer going to a place where I have my own table to work at, so it was a bit uncomfortable. If you are looking for coffee at University Village, this Starbucks is the best place as far as selection goes. Though it is often crowded. There is a Starbucks near Crate & Barrel at U-Village which is smaller, but also less crowded which may be more preferable to this location if you are looking for a place to chill.

Came here Christmas Day and it was packed but fortunately there was only one person ahead of me. We were lined up in front of the register. Then comes in a lady who lined up by the pastries and seems to know one of the baristas and calls him to charge her order. I asked why she was taken care of first and there reply was that I wasn’t in line. Its common courtesy to ask if your in line and explain when one doesn’t know where the line goes. These kinda of situations make me wonder sometimes whether they did it because they are racist because the man in front of us had an Asian background and I am Hispanic. It was obvious we were in line waiting. Even if we weren’t lined up by the pastries.

Worst service EVER. Ordered a Clover brewed. Barista forgot about me. Hubby had to ask about my drink by that time brew was lukewarm. Crappy service

Say what you will about difficult parking and long lines here, but these baristas are always friendly and get the job done quickly and to a «T!» It is also nice that they are open until 1am on weekdays — not many other coffee shops can say that. Because this is a physically large store they don’t seem to ever run out of products and you don’t ever have to wait more than 5 minutes between ordering and picking up your item(s). If you don’t want to walk more than 100yds then you can park in one of the garages and go to one of the 5 Starbucks owned stores in this shopping center. There is one in the QFC, another next to the Microsoft store and Crate and Barrel, a Teavana by Lulu and Evolution by Frans. If that’s all too much to handle there’s a smaller Sbux on 35th between 70th and 75th with parking.

Turned to this lovely Starbucks location to get my caffeine fix to get through a long night of essays. Wanted to give a shoutout to barista Tim, who gave me stellar service and made me feel like a million bucks! :)

This is one of my favorite starbucks. The vibe here is very laid back and it is a very popular spot in the afternoons/evenings. This place attracts all sorts of ppl, from the students to the urban professionals, and from the young to the old. I love the large number of tables, definitely makes for a good spot to work on hw and projects. I’ve even seen people hold meetings here! Service is quick, baristas are nice, and overall a great sbux. Only thing missing is a drive thru!

This place is infested with Mosquitos!!! Last time I was here there were hundreds. I came back because they closed to fix their standing water problem but they obviously didn’t. I’m back and there may be less but still too many. It’s amazing when you have to walk outside to avoid the Mosquitos.(It’s freezing out, there shouldn’t be Mosquitos!) Avoid at all costs!!! It feels like the African wilderness inside.

This is the worst Starbucks that I have ever been in. It is a freezing day in December and the mosquitos are plentiful, at least in the northwest corner of the store where I am sitting. It is not so much the fact that I have killed seven mosquitoes in the last 15 minutes, but when I went up and quietly asked one of the baristas if she was aware of the mosquitos, she just dismissed me with a quick little yes and turned away from me. Not what you expect from a company as concerned about their customers’ experience(and their brand) as Starbucks supposedly is.

Luckily, I haven’t experienced the mosquitos like other have mentioned but that might be due to the colder weather. This location seems to be always packed. They also have an issue with completing drinks in a timely manner. I know that it may take 5 – 10 minutes to make a drink when there was a crowd and that’s totally fine. I realize that comes with going to a busy Starbucks. But this place seems to take far more time than it should. I ordered an iced drink and I waited about 10 minutes for my drink to be made, well after people behind me in line had already received their(hot) drinks. I’ll never understand why some Starbucks have 3 – 4 people manning the registers and only 1 person making drinks!

Wow!!! I read the reviews and saw people talking about the bugs/mosquitoes at first I thought, no way it must be an exaggeration, but they were right! I got bit at least 8 times in the 2 and a half hours I was there! :-(it’s great that they are open so late because I’m a student and don’t have internet at home, but they really need to do something about the mosquitoes! Also crazy packed! I even saw someone using the tiny chairs/table made for 3 and 5 year old kids! The mosquitoes ruined my experience. If it wasn’t for that I would have given them more stars. I hope someone in upper management looks at these reviews and finds a way to deal with the bugs! In tell then I’m going to study elsewhere. Bauhaus is open till midnight.

This place has mosquitoes. MOSQUITOES, people. I am a regular Starbucks patron but the two times I’ve been to this particular location in the past 3 months, I’ve been attacked by multiple mosquitoes. I took a picture of one I killed while simultaneously being bitten by another. They are everywhere… and this Starbucks is huge! Recommendation: get in, get your coffee, kill a few mosquitoes while you wait, get bitten a few times then GTFO.

A great late-night option for people-watching, but definitely too loud and chaotic for serious work. Clientele is unsurprisingly younger than most stores, being adjacent to UW. As much as I appreciate the vibrant energy of the store, my drink that I ordered extra-hot was barely warm, and there are flies, enough to repeatedly swat away from my drink and face. There are some days when young ladies galloping and shrieking around a coffee shop is not in fact endearing, no matter how stylish her outfit or sweet her smile. The in general loud, indiscreet conversations and slurping of multiple frappachinos, clanging of china and dull social roar can oddly be calming but most often is unsettling. Come for a safe social meetup, but take a pass if you’re seeking tranquility.

So, an update… turns out that the mosquito problem is the result of moist ground under the west end of the University Village. Historically… the U-Village is built on top of a swamp and before it was a swamp it was covered with Lake Washington water before the Montlake Cut was created(the cut lowered the water level leaving the area of where the U-Village is now) mushy and swampy). And according to the Starbucks and pest control investigation it simply wasn’t cold enough last winter to kill the area where the eggs are laid… so that means the critters are coming up from the underground affecting all the different stores including Starbucks there. THIS is a much bigger problem now. But… due to the weather changes as it gets colder… the population will lessen. I returned to using this shop to study… and the bugs are still there tho not biting as much and it’s getting more pleasant. I suspect that it will be the U-Village property management folks to fix the issue, some fancy hole drilling to destroy the egg farm underground or something else before a regrade and rebulid happens. This store is still one of the best to study in due to the long hours. My options tho are the Lake City store with their Google Fiber running at nearly 40Mbps, then McDonald’s on 25th Ave NE near the U-village, and later then the U-village 26th ave location. I do hope Starbucks continues to work on this problem tho… a lot of us want a solution to improve our user experience. I’ve spoken with the District Manager and he assures and confirms that there is, indeed, a problem that needs fixing and that they are investigating… and staff at the store also confirms that they are.

Unlike other Starbucks stores, this one opens till late; until 1 or 2AM or so. As a student, i find this spot pretty sweet if I don’t feel like studying at home or the library. I frequent this place and am content with the place, except one thing. Tis place is infested with mosquitos; there always seem to be one flying into my face every couple of minutes. If the management can control this to a moderate level, it would make a really solid alternative for late night studying.

Sometimes I hate to admit it, but I do for their Protein pack(good, healthy alternative!) But question, Starbucks: why do the insides of your stores smell more like a greyhound bus then an inviting coffee shop? Seriously, all of them smell the same! I think if you just opened the doors and aired them out, it would be so much more inviting!

GREATNEWSETUP/DESIGN STARBUCKS!!! Love the earthy wholesome thoughtful design — great use of materials and tying everything together. Starbucks is starbucks is starbucks — food/bevs are the same as every where else. I liked the nook and crannies for where people can sit, meet up, read, all sorts of things. The place is smaller than the other place in the UVillage — the design of this store is very inviting.

Starbucks? What is there to say. I study here all the time and for the most part it has a good vibe! As Starbucks go this one is pretty legit. BUT a word to the wise. Its always really busy. Usually drinks don’t take much time to be prepared, but if you’re looking for a place to sit, you might have some trouble. Students, working people, and generally people of all walks of life are here studying and doing their thang(for all day nonstop). Apart from the business though, I’ve never had a bad experience and the baristas are all very nice(: Happy coffee drinking friends(:

My friend and I came here because we were waiting for our kids to finish at a Halloween Party. Since it’s so close to the University, there were a lot of students with laptops and flashcards all around. The place was pretty busy, with a bit of a line, but it moved quickly, so that was good. I ordered Passion iced tea, and my friend ordered something decaf with a Blueberry Scone — she was super happy because they heated the scone for her! We chose to sit outside, even though it was a bit chilly. It was so busy and noisy inside, we thought we wouldn’t be able to hold a conversation. I’m glad we chose to go al fresco, because the people-watching was first rate! The food and drink were pretty standard Starbucks, but the one bonus is the Clover Coffee machine they have at this location. Although I didn’t partake this time around, it is nice to know there is another place with this heavenly machine. This was a great place to hang out, people watch and enjoy our beverages. I’m really not in the U-Village area very often, but will definitely be back the next time I am!

I always stop in here when I’m at U-Village. The coffee is good and the employees are friendly. It is ALWAYS very busy and a mad house. It’s too loud and crowded to be a good place to study or get any work done. It’s definitely a nice Starbucks though. I’m a fan.
