Coffee is deeply flavorful not burnt like Starbucks. The atmosphere is spacious friendly and bright. A wonderful place!

«TULLIESCENSORS On Tuesday January 12, 2014 I was 86ed from Tullies FIVECORNERS store(45th Str. NE& Union Bay) because someone who had looked at what I am writing on my computer found it objectionable and called management. First of all, a typical Seattle busy-body who kibitzes computers ought to be told to desist or leave. For Tullie’s to even listen to a kibitzer is extraordinary. I happen to be a published author, member of P.E.N., ex-publisher of Urizen Books, ex-visiting Scholar at the U.W., member of the Seattle Psychoanalytic Society, noted translator, playwright. and am completing a memoir, which is all that whoever took it upon him or herself to look at my computer — say, while I went out for a smoke, or the men’s room — could have seen. I do not send my writing or show my writing to anyone at the store, albeit the occasional friend who expresses interest at what stage I am at; i.e. no one at the story is exposed to my writing. I do not subject anyone to it. Tullie’a action constitutes censorship and I am alerting all local publication and social media to it. I have been going to this store for appr. Ten years and spend about $ 1,000 at Tullies annually. This action by Tullies will prove far more costly to them than that. IMiCHAEL ROLOFF Member Seattle Psychoanalytic Institute and Society

I prefer the flavor of Starbucks roasts over Tully’s. I used to drink Tully’s anyway, because they offered a discount to members of the UW Alumni Association. However, they discontinued that, and since they price their coffee the same, to the penny, as Starbucks, I don’t much go there anymore. I do like their«mate latte,» made with mate tea and soy milk. That concoction is exclusive to them.

Good location, good parking, more space than many nearby coffee shops, lots of outlets, decent coffee. Minus one star for COLD temps! Sure, restaurants will turn the temp down a few degrees to increase turnover, but having the a/c on for a rainy summer morning is a bit excessive. +1 for Starbucks :/

I’m not really for giving reviews like this, because maybe the staff was under some abnormal circumstances, but I don’t know. I came in looking for lunch, and got no greeting from the 2 young lady’s working there. They seemed almost oblivious to my presence, but it gave me time to notice the multitude of flies swarming the pastry case. I got a packaged sandwich thinking it would be safe, and although I suffered no ill effects the bread was very stale. The chai tea I got was so hot I couldn’t drink it until my lunch was almost over. Also I got no apology for the baristas absent mindedness and no goodbye. Although I don’t remember anything bad about the bathroom… I probably won’t be going back.

Honestly, I would have given this a three star review a few months ago, but recently the manager changed and the whole energy shifted! The new manager is really great and in turn all her employees are happier and more helpful. Today the one that took my order was really helpful with suggesting a good new drink and we had a light but educational conversation about milk and milk alternatives which was cool. Their chai is Oregon Chi which is the best IMHO. The lunch I had is from a local business(I forget the name now) and was tasty. The prices are about comparable to Starbucks so expect to drop around $ 3-$ 4 on your drink. They also have cold drinks if you’re into that kind of thing. If you haven’t been since Felicia the manager came you MUST give it another try. Businesses are always changing and improving, so please consider that when reading year old or more reviews.

The service here was meh– the staff didn’t go out of there way, and then when I just ordered coffee, it was kind of like, forget you. I order coffee in a for-here mug, and obviously, not a lot of people ask for those. $ 2 for a cup of coffee that wasn’t great. It was ok, but lacked good flavor. I sat at a table where the guy delivering milk asked me to move as he couldn’t get by– I felt like saying, uh, why did they put a table here then??? The atmosphere was just off. Not many people in here for a Saturday morning and just not a good vibe. The internet kept kicking me out. I would find another place to shell out your hard earned cash. This place isn’t worth it.

Super diverse customers make for an interesting atmosphere. For dealing with the ave crazies, these baristas have it on lock. Really, not too bad for a corporate.

I like Tully’s and have been coming to this location intermittently for several years when I want to meet up with my mom for a coffee. It seems like they consistently mess up at least one of our orders each time — and both of us are ordering basic menu items, not something super-customized. But the drinks are good once we get what we ordered. I do wish Tully’s would come up with more original drink ideas instead of just copying Starbucks all the time, especially because their versions are often pricier than Starbucks. They do have good promotions though. And they use Oregon Chai, which I like better than the Tazo Chai they use at Starbucks.

It’s usually packed here, but I was able to score a table on a nice, warm day. I got my coffee quickly and was able to work quietly. Since it was sunny out, it was hard to see with the glare on my computer screen, but otherwise I love the openness of this store. pro: their coffee did the job of keeping me awake and focused. con: they had the AC on which was unnecessary at night time. i was wishing i wasn’t wearing shorts.

I always feel comfortable here. It’s an attractive room, the coffee is good, and the bathroom is always clean. The parking lot is smallish and you’ll need to be a good driver, preferably with a smaller car, to park. Not a factor for me as I’m always arriving on foot or bicycle. I always see a few people in here working on their laptops — there are some good tables to use. Also, the entire cast of Friends hangs out here, and wacky hijinks ensue. That last one’s not true — I can’t back that up.
