The lady manager set me up with a room at the University Regency. It was at a perfect location right on the Ave. The room had a bed, a couch, a bathroom, a closet, a TV with cable, a kitchen and other amenities that made me feel right at home while I lived there. She was easy to get in contact with and was a big help during my stay!

I rented a studio unit for 5 months at 4522 Brooklyn Ave room #215-University Regent. I needed something close to UW. The rent was $ 1295 a month plus $ 700 deposit and the last months rent. There was a $ 400 non refundable cleaning fee. Upon move in on September 2014– I told the property manager that the heater would not turn on and i needed a mailbox key. I needed a place asap as I had no time to look around as school was starting in 2 days. I signed the lease short term in hopes I would find a more livable place. The ONLY thing that was great was that it was close walk to school. EVERYTHING else about the unit and building in general was clearly a pig pen –the laundry room in the building had outdated old washing machines and dryers that didn’t dry completely. I actually would walk to the local laundry mat to wash and dry my clothes. The building windows face the back alley where all the business on the street had there dumpsters-which meant every morning at 5 am when the homeless are not diggin in the rubbish bins the noisy trucks will come and empty the bins. If you like loud noises in the morning than this is where you want to live. The entry to the building smelled old and reeked of bad body odor because of the old and stained carpets. The carpets in the entry and the unit looked old and smelled. I had to cover my entire carpet in the unit with new carpet:-just to feel clean. The bathroom was old and looks like it has the original tub and toilet. The tub would not look or feel clean no matter how many times I tried to scrub and sanitize it. I didn’t have a working heater till march 2015 when my parents came over for a visit and asked me why it was so cold in here. The property manager came over and unlocked the bar that was placed over the heater breaker switch so the heater would finally work. I’m a bio chem major and was completely immersed in my daily studies and thought that that was just the way it was in the cold unit. My parents were furious with the manager for this and an array of other things in the old and smelly unit. All in all I would not WOULDNOT recommend this building to my worst enemy. I moved across the street to the AVA units where everything is new and they have on site property managers there.
