Racist owner.
I like to treat my gf to mani/​pedis and have taken her here a few times. This time my gf, who’s Vietnamese, pulled me aside and said the owner was telling her she shouldn’t date me (a black guy) and should find herself a diligent, Vietnamese man.
I asked him about it – thinking it was a misunderstanding — and he confirmed that he feels she shouldn’t date me because «Vietnamese belong with Vietnamese «.
So… Yea, I won’t be taking my gf back anytime soon.
+1 star because Nicole, the lady that does our nails, is really nice.

It has been only 4 days since my gel manicure and the polish is lifting away on the edges of EVERY SINGLE NAIL.
This place looks nice, is incredibly clean and has friendly people working there. A gel manicure typically lasts upwards of two weeks, 4 days is pretty disappointing.

I love this place and I’m super picky. Clean and well done. They check to make sure each nail matches and they can do a thin French which looks more natural. No complaints. Better than the other place in Wallingford.

This is the only place my manis last 2+ weeks and my pedis 3+ weeks! Affordable and accommodating.

I hate when nail salons aren’t busy but insist on combining my manicure and pedicure. I don’t go to the salon to be rushed, I go to get the full experience, especially on my day off.
Also, after only one day I had two chipped nails. Not worth it in my opinion to go back.

I came into this place on Sat AM first thing and was the first client. They were really nice and did a great job on my brow Wax, pedi and Gel mani. It was 60 bucks for all three. The pedi and mani had paraffin wax and nice massage. I have not been in because the reviews were not great, but I had a really good experience! This is right across from Wallingford center on the corner.

I received an absolutely fantastic shellac! Cindy deliver a perfect 10. Just when I was satisfied with how my nails looked she provided a neck and shoulder, temple and hand massage to boot. I could not have been happier! My husband told me they look spectacular. Not one complaint.

I went in for my second time this past weekend– got the basic mani/​pedi. My first visit a couple months ago was fine. Loved the paraffin treatment and my nail polish stayed on forever.
This time was a different story. The nail tech did the salt scrub on my leg and then used the pedicure stone on my foot. Then without rinsing the salt off my legs, she started scrubbing the stone on my leg. It hurt. She had ground the skin off my ankle and scraped my calf. Two days later, it’s still looking nasty and infected and I’ve now had to schedule a doctor’s appointment to get it checked out. NOT COOL.
At the time she didn’t say anything. She pointed out that I was bleeding but there was definitely an implication that it was «already like that». (Um, no. I was not bleeding when I came in.) I went back yesterday to show them and they didn’t care. They said it happens all the time and that I have thin skin. No apology. No refund.
Two things that I feel pretty strongly about are, you know, my health… and customer service. Both were completely disregarded. I will not be returning for a third time.

The entire staff was SO nice, which was great. The salt scrub was a solid touch and I’m happy with the polish.
Two out of three of us that went in together experienced rough handling and pain. I got two cuts during the manicure, even after I asked her to not cut so much cuticle because it was hurting me. She then cut so deep on one of my fingers that it started bleeding. She poured alcohol on it and squeezed it, which was really painful. Two days later this cut is infected.:(My hope is that the staff reads this and is more responsible with future customers.

Got a pedicure with a friend. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good. I guess you get what you pay for. There was definitely a language barrier, but not so bad that we couldn’t communicate about the important things. Used a lot of plastic bags to line basins so they were easier to clean, which didn’t feel super pleasant. Base of my toenails aren’t evenly painted and there’s some color on my skin, but you can’t tell from a distance.
Update: after trying to get a french manicure: tips were so bad I got home and immediately removed the polish and repainted turn myself. Pedicures are still OK though!

I walked in on a Sunday morning for a gel pedicure and was seated right away. Everyone was very friendly. I was impressed with the services received for $ 35 — hot stone massage, paraffin treatment, paint. It was very clean inside as well. I’m surprised they don’t have more stars! I will definitely be back for more pedicures!

Surprised that this place was basically empty while I was there. Walked right in and got a shellac manicure that looks great. They have probably 10 pedicure chairs and as many manicure stations and everything looks really nice. I felt like my manicurist was very focused on the details and my nails look great. Will definitely be back!

Love this place! I live down the street so it is super convenient. I always get the deluxe pedicure and shellac manicure, never had a problem with the paint job AT ALL. all of the ladies are super friendly.

Absolute worst manicure EVER! And it’s a little pricier than you pay at most places for a mani/​pedi…
–literally the worst paint job ever — I had bumpy bubbles all over. When I pointed this out, the manicurists added another tick gloppy top coat. When it dried hours later, it was full of bubbles. I tried to remove with polish remover, to no avail. Literally had to scrape the polish off. This was regular polish (not Shelac) so not sure why it wouldn’t come off.
–My cuticles were barely worked and my nails roughly filed.
–The only positive was the paraphin dip on hands and feet and the great massage.
What a disaster, won’t be going back!

I really wanted to love this place. Great location and beautiful salon. However, this was pretty much the worst paint job I have seen. The experience was painful and there was no attention to detail. I will not be going back.

I’m really disappointed. I wanted to like this place and be a regular here for my Mani/​Pedi.
A friend and I had been here when they opened and service n quality was wonderful then. they were very attentive, detailed n polite then. They gave a thorough scrub and massage followed by a paraffin dip.
Their quality has deteriorated since then.
This time though was the worst…
The lady doing my nails as well as the manager kept pushing us to do their $ 35 «signature pedicure » .
When we chose the regular pedi… they seemed put off.
The massage and scrub were cursory at best. the paraffin dip didnt even cool before she took it off.
The pedi was over in 15−20minutes! Usually it takes around 40−45minutes everywhere else.
The mani was the same… cursory .
My friend left disappointed too with a similar experience.
When I pointed that the nail polish was so thin and streaky on a few toe nails that I could see bald spots and my nail bed. they claimed that it was the way my nail was… I had to insist several times that they reapply nail paint before she agreed to. The lady just stared at me and seemed irritated.
In a day I realized that the nail polish has already started to chip… I think they water down their nail paint. I brought in my own OPI nail paint for the mani and it hasn’t chipped yet compared to the salon products which thou in an OPI bottle seemed really thin.
Communication was frustrating too… at least hv one person around who understands English and can be understood by customers.
I’m not coming back. What a waste !
I’ll be going to Night Lights across the street now on.

As I was driving home from brunch, I noticed that new nail salon — Venetian Nail Spa — had just opened and decided to give it a go. I frequently wear shellac varnish and it was definitely time to get it redone.
I walked in and was greeted by the owner (?) who gave me a price — $ 20 plus $ 5 to remove the existing shellac. I also noticed that they had Opi polishes including the one I normally wear. $ 25 for a shellac manicure using a high-​end polish is an excellent deal.
I had a very short wait but there wasn’t really anywhere to sit other than the drying station so I awkwardly waited in the entrance before being shown to a manicure station.
I immediately noticed that the tools were sterilized but I don’t believe a new nail file was used which I wasn’t super-​happy about. The lady who did my nails set about filing the surface of the existing shellac (normal procedure) but she went too far and ended up filing my nature nail bed on every finger. Once she had applied the acetone to soak off the shellac, she walked behind me and started to massage my neck — without warning! The massage was — errr — firm, shall we say!
She managed to take off the shellac efficiently and then started to work on my cuticles and file my nails. She took her time — she didn’t cut me at all but she was beginning to create sore patches because she went back and re-​clipped areas multiple times. The nail shaping was OK but the edges felt quite uneven.
Her application of the varnish was poor. Every single nail has traces of polish on the cuticle and an uneven base border. Even more concerning was the fact that she soaked my nails in warm water with ample cuticle remover and then did not ask me to wash my hands or apply alcohol. So, I have no idea how long it will be before the shellac starts to lift due to this.

I learned a valuable lesson, however Just because a salon looks high-​end, there is a reason why a shellac manicure may only cost $ 20. Good luck to them — I hope they do well — but the chances are high that I won’t be returning.

This nail salon is incredibly clean with the atmosphere of a high end spa without the high prices. This is my new favorite and will be my go to nail salon from now on. I hate to recommend it for fear it’ll become over run but worth it to keep this place in business. Everything about it was an A+.

Super happy with the service here. Went on a Saturday after ok, had toes and hands done at the same time and my polished lasted 1.5 weeks, 2 week respectably, but with some chipping. It was so cheap, too. It was $ 30 for both mani and pedi, it included salt scrub, massage, and paraffin! This is insane. I wouldn’t paid $ 55 for this at my neighborhood salon in Chicago.
Definitely give it a try. I was super impressed.

Tried this place twice. Both times asked to have my nails done at the same time as my pedi because I was in a hurry. Did not happen either tine. First go round, lost 3 nails my first week and by then the polish on my toes looked as if it had been months since I had one. Decided to try once more two days ago, so far so good on my nails but where they placed the wax when waxing my eyebrows ended in bright red burns. I know it’s new, but they clearly needed to work out some kinks before they opened the doors.
