We came in for an early lunch. A large group came in and they were able to easily accommodate us all. There was a large variety of sandwich options, all reasonably priced. I ordered the smoked turkey on the classics menu. I enjoyed it but it could have used a little more mayonnaise, and the turkey didn’t have the smoked flavor I had hoped for. Over-all we were all satisfied and I would definitely come back. The breads are all wonderful, I’m considering going back just for a loaf.

This place has gone downhill. Despite its inefficient, slow service, the food used to be worth the wait and I had continued to go there for the delicious chowders + sandwiches. However, the past few times I visited, I had to deal with a very rude cashier, watered-down, salty chowders, and of course the slowest service ever. I am not going back.

Amateur hour during lunch. I’m typing this while 35 minutes deep on waiting for a sandwich. The guy next to me just gave up and left empty handed and said he’ll «come back and talk to them later» about cancelling the charge. He said he’ll probably just dispute it through the CC rather than come back and deal with this mess. It’s not just an understaffing-issue but a competence and process improvement issue as well. People not knowing what the hand-written order said, running out of all sorts of ingredients, asking customers who ordered before whom, not having recipes memorized etc. The guy that appeared to be in charge walked out of the restaurant 10 minutes ago and is no where to be found, causing the orders to take even longer. If anyone knows how to go about nominating this place for Kitchen Nightmares, please do so. I haven’t gotten my food yet so I can’t comment on the quality of it… UPDATE: it turns my order was lost, so I pressed the«lap» button on my stopwatch app to see how long this portion of the experience takes. I also just overheard they’re out of an ingredient in my sandwich so we’ll see what happens

Wish I could give it more than a single star, but I went there at 8:30 in the Tuesday morning after President’s Day to get 2 scrambled egg burritos before we set up at the Flower and Garden Show, and after giving my order and waiting for a few minutes, the attendant finally informs me that they have no eggs! How can that be for a bakery and breakfast — lunch café? My second and last attempt to eat at Wild Rye was at the Convention Center where they had a kiosk, but the cashiers were so slow and spent most of their time giggling amongst each other as if I was bothering them. Too bad, I was truly excited by the other reviews and I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Awesome sandwiches and soups! Their pastries are incredible, don’t leave without a slice of banana bread — Or one of everything else.

Just left there and had to post review immediately. This was 3rd time there and once again the food is delicious! I’ve had their French dip and breakfast burrito. This time got grilled chicken pesto sandwich. Bread is super soft and sliced thick. Fresh ingredients and prepared right in front of you. Oh and best part are the low prices.(For downtown or any place that isn’t fast food). Home made chips and cookies too.

This place has gone downhill fast. The food is pretty good when they get your order right. The chances of that happening are 50⁄50 at best. Not sure what happened. Six months ago, this review would have been at least 4 stars.

Great little place for a quick lunch during a convention. Came here during PAX Prime. Great food although they were obviously understaffed for the amount of people that were there. Modified menu was kind of annoying too.

Pretty great take on the Reuben. Not enough sourkraut for my taste, but still a great sandwich.

$ 10 for a sandwich is too much — even though these sandwiches are delicious. I crave their vegetarian one with the cream cheese, avocado & mushroom. It is delicious! Sometimes they forget my order in the lunch rush & I have to remind them :( The sandwich is amazing but the price point isn’t there for me.

So they have«gourmet» sandwiches and«classic» sandwiches. I was feeling a half sandwich and soup combo, but I wanted a gourmet sandwich — whatever the Italian one is called. The employee told me they cannot serve the gourmet sandwiches half-sized because the bread they used«can’t be cut in half.» Well, I tried not to let me skepticism get the better of me… And then I got my sandwich. Lo and behold, they cut it in half! What say you now, counter guy?! The good news is that I ended up being glad I got the whole sandwich instead of soup combo. That sandwich was great. Really soft, fresh foccacia, fresh mozzerella, etc. I highly recommend it. The location itself is kind of sterile and boring in a building near the convention center, but other than that I am a fan.

Cute little place one block from my hotel. Yummy chorizo breakfast burrito and coffee! It’s a little small but wasn’t very busy so that’s okay! Connected to the convention center is also a plus.

I miss this place! When I worked in downtown Seattle the chicken salad sandwich and corn chowder were my go-to’s!

Wild Rye is quite the tease. I come here for the Italian sandwich, and more often than not, they are out of the focaccia bread. :(But then there are those«once in a blue moon» days where they have it, that keeps me coming back… The Italian features focaccia, pesto, salami, mozzarella, peppers and arugula. Soaking in all the pesto goodness and extra seasoning, the in-house bread is what really makes the sandwich! :) Surprisingly, service is a bit slower for this café — there are usually only 2 – 3 people working at a time and sometimes you can find a line even before noon. I would’ve thought that since it’s located next to the Convention Center, that it would be better staffed, given the lunch crowds and whatnot. They also have a pastry happy hour from 2−3PM, where everything in their pastry case is 50% off! Honestly, I have yet to try the rest of their menu, mainly because I love their Italian sandwich so much. ;)

As these shops go, this one is pretty darn good. I had a toasted club and a greek salad — both were very satisfying and well done. Clean shop and good service. We’ll more than likely stop in again.

Have really enjoyed this place, going every morning during my conference. With the exception of one lady, one day, staff was superb — friendly, fast and courteous. Coffee was decent and breakfast burritto’s are delicious and fresh. Would definitely recommend a quick drop in on your way to the convention center.

Minus 1 star for food, minus another for service. First off I will say my favorite thing to get here is the Italian. The focaccia bread is great. Not the best I have ever had but pretty darn good compared to most places in Seattle. Moist, flavorful and includes olive oil drizzle. YUM. Hesitant to write that though because they due sometimes sell out of that before noon. Other sandwiches have just been OK. Decent sized and tasty, but nothing you couldn’t make at home with ingredients from Whole Foods. The BBQ chicken on french bread is what I would get if they ran out of Italian. The sticky buns and apricot rugelach are also on point. It’s like 9 bucks for a sandwich not including any drinks or chips. Decent but if I am craving more of a bang for my buck I will walk in the other direction for Michou. Smaller sizes but better flavor and a full sandwich is around $ 6 not to mention, you can mix and match half sandwiches. As far as service if there is more than 2 people in front of you or you come in a group be prepared to wait. They are pretty slow due to them being a small place and they do not do the lunch hustle, they prepare at a turtle’s pace. The guy who works there is pretty nice, friendly and attentive but the women seem like they dislike working there 75% of the time.

When it’s busy, I’m okay waiting. I’m not okay when they start making sandwiches out of order so they my companion is finished before my sandwich is even ready. And then when I pointed this out, the staff shrugged and said they forgot what order to do the sandwiches in. The food is okay. Not amazing but okay. But don’t go in there if there’s any lineup. You may never get your food.

My favorite things to order at Wild Rye are: –Corn Chowder –Salad –Cookies –Wheat Bread I’m not a huge fan of the sandwiches. The price and quality is slightly higher than comparable lunch places downtown. Overall, I’m a fan. I regularly recommend this place to coworkers.

This was one of those places I ate at out of necessity, but ended up pleasantly surprised. I was attending GeekGirlCon in the same building and this was the closest place to eat. Fortunately, it was also really good. I had both the roast beef and chicken salad. The sandwiches were HUGE. The chowder was also yummy and tastes fresh. This is probably the best I’ve ever eaten while attending a con. The staff also did a great job of dealing with the crowds of people in costume ordering food. The only downside is that the café did tend to run out of items towards the end of the day, but with the crowds they were getting, that’s understandable.
