First impressions count. I am far from impressed. In any case, despite the reviews on Dr. Altemus, I thought I would give her a chance. I know what does and does not work for me but I wanted to revisit one of the prescriptions made by another doctor in her group, who has left the practice. In the meantime, I wanted to refill a prescription until such time that she could see me. They couldn’t get me in right away so I figured they would at minimum refill the prescription so I wouldn’t be without care. They wouldn’t go for it and the explained that it was because I hadn’t seen one of their doctors in months. Most dermatologists want to schedule you for four-week intervals but I don’t have that kind of time and my visits happened once a quarter. Uh, the doctor I had been seeing left and never told me! Anyway, they weren’t willing to budge on the prescription, which would have kept my skin under control until I could get in. They acted like I couldn’t be trusted to show up for a consult. In turn, I doubted they would be able to provide care. Trust goes both ways.
