I have loved my meals here, whether eating the pub bar fair or the more elegant dining menu.

Went here for lunch with a friend. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant if a bit sedate.(Though I’m from Oakland, and this being Healdsburg, sedate is probably normal). The food is good, the portions are on the small side. I had the parsnip soup, which was fine, though needed salt. I also had the smoked trout salad-which was quite tasty, but I was still hungry due to the small portion. I usually expect a $ 12 salad to be more filling. I wouldn’t to go out of my way to go here, but a perfectly decent spot for lunch if you’re in the area.

Food is Ok, not great. Service at the bar during happy hour sucked to say the least. We went there a few weeks ago on a weeknight. The female Bartender never really greeted us and the place wasn’t very busy. Finally a female bar back/hostess took our drink order and passed the info on the Bartender. It was odd, this place isn’t cheap so having service levels less than top notch is unacceptable.

Stopped in for the first time today for lunch. It was a wet rainy day and the French onion soup really hit the spot. It was chock full of onions, very cheesy and the soup was really flavorful. I asked about ordering a salad too as they had a lyonnaise on the menu that looked tempting but our waiter thought I might find the soup filling so I ordered the«bucket of fries» instead. So yummy and crispy. My friend had the Cobb salad and said it was great. It certainly looked tasty. Our waiter was on it — refilling the water glasses frequently. There is a nice cozy bar outside the dining room with a big screen tv and lots of beers on tap. There’s even patio seating outside in front which would be lovely in nicer weather. There were many things I found appetizing on the menu. I would definitely go back.

I had one of the best meals of my LIFE at this restaurant! My boyfriend brought me here for lunch one rainy afternoon and I was not expected every course and every bite to be so magical. I started with two Chelsea Gem Oysters on the half shell(divine with the mignonette) and then had the Beet Salad with cumquats, goat cheese, walnuts and arugula. So fresh, light, citrusy, bursting with different flavors and textures. I was in a euphoric state of bliss… And then the beignets came out. I can’t rave about this place enough. Our waitress was attentive, but not intrusive. It was a classy establishment without being stuffy. The only negative is that my boyfriend’s Savory Chicken and Waffle was drizzled in this overly sweet, very spicy«Chipotle Honey,» and it ruined it. The piece of chicken was very small too. But I’m still giving it 5 stars, cause it deserves 6!

Not impressed-food was bland and over cooked-bar staff distracted and inattentive. Would not return –we had the breakfast pizza and chicken with waffles-blek!

The reason I rated K&L only four stars is because on a chilly night(35 degrees) the restaurant was COLD. However, the food was AMAZING! I started with the shaved Brussels Sprouts salad, which I shared with my boyfriend. The vinaigrette dressing was fantastic. For my main course, I had the Roasted Branzino with fingerling potatoes. Absolutely Incredible! My boyfriend had the Artic Char, which he said was wonderful. For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte, which was yummy. The service was excellent. Our food server answered all our questions with ease and expertise. The staff was attentive and attended to our every need.

We had an amazing dinner there last night! OMG it started with the tuna tartare! Incredibly delicious and the clover sprouts served with it were the perfect balance… great Sriracha sauces were swirling the plate! Yum. Next we shared the Brussels sprouts salad which was delicately shaved with toasted pine nuts served with shaved Reggiano and a fantastic raspberry thyme vinaigrette. My main course was the chicken palliard piccata. A pounded chicken breast lightly breaded & very lightly fried, served with an amazing piccata sauce loaded with capers. Served with an incredible Kale Cesar salad! Can I just say that I ate the entire thing!!! Desert consisted of a cranberry/Apple galette with a cute scoop of vanilla gelato on top! Coffee tasted incredible with this! I’m going back! Cheers to the owners! I love the remodel/addition! Lisa Loughman Interiors

Went with a group of coworkers for the mimosa brunch. The service and food were excellent. The homemade beignets were delicious! My only complaint is that my yolks were overcooked, which is the very last thing you want for your Benedict. I didn’t get that runny yolk, which was disappointing but everything else was great.

The persimmon and goat cheese salad was stellar. I loved the mix of tangy with sweet, and the crunch from the walnuts paired well with the sweetness of the pomegranate seeds and the freshness of the arugula. The mussels were amazing. Some of the best I’ve had. The sauce was too salty by itself, but it was soooo savory. Nice to sop up with a piece of bread. The branzino was also good, but not as delicious as the mussels. The preparation was pretty standard — grilled with herbs — and I found myself satisfied, but not impressed the same way I was with the mussels. The sweet potato gnocchi was interesting — it was sweet rather than savory from the sweet potato filling. The dessert — a chocolate pomegranate trio — was a big disappointment. The cake was dry, the chocolate raspberry mousse was dry and flaky, and very difficult to eat because it crumbled so easily. It was a sad way to end an otherwise great meal. Prices were reasonable for this type of restaurant and service was stellar. A great choice if you’re looking for a nice restaurant in Sebastopol.

As a patron since k &L opened, going through all the reinventions, I must say as much as I have tried to remain devoted, I am over it! It has become a local last choice but tonite we were desperate. We ordered the Cesar which was highly over dressed, We Also ordered the mussels which were delicious and they finally got the portion correct because their neighbor offered twice as much for. $ 5.00 less. The real problem was the pasta entrée. Completely flavorless for $ 21. They asked to replace with something else but at that point I had no faith that they knew what was good or bad. The server and the manager Jason confirmed they thought it was delicious. ! The final straw was dickering with manager Jason over taking the pasta off the bill., Lucas I suggest you spend more time tasting dishes !

This place is not too shaby. It makes it nice that it is a «soccer» bistro for my husband who is and avid soccer geek :). While I am super picky at the moment due to pregnancy aversions I found that the mac and cheese was most pleasurable and my burger was done nicely. Plus I got a heaping amount of avacado on my burger which is a giant bonus. The fries were good and the place was very clean and I do have to say the service was quite lovely. It is always nice to go to a place where you are treated with kindness and not feel like you are being neglected or bombarded. We never went without water and my son left satisfied and full. Everyone, including the customers were polite. We will definitely return.

the $ 10 green oily salad was way too much! the main course is fine… Still over price for the quality.

This is one of the better places we have tried in Sonoma County. I am impressed by the staff. When one of the waitstaff comes into the dining room he or she looks around at every table making note of any need. Truly professional staff. I am happy to say while not silent, we could enjoy our meal without shouting, and nothing is worse than a noisy restaurant. We had salad with warm goat cheese, frito misto, and sole with frites. Excellent food. A generous portion of fresh sole cooked perfectly without fuss. Fries were authentic bistro style. Cosmo cocktail was refreshing. I really enjoyed the whole evening. I commend the kitchen and the waitstaff. It would be a pleasure to return.

On a friend’s recommendation, my husband and I decided to have dinner here. We shared the heirloom tomato/burrata appetizer, which was very tasty. For the main course, hubby ordered the smoked trout salad, and after hearing the mouth-watering description, I ordered the pasta special with sausage and broccoli. The smoked trout was good, but unfortunately the pasta special fell short of my expectations. It had a very odd aftertaste that was bitter and sour. Perhaps the chef didn’t remember to add the wine until after he finished preparing the entrée, and then simply poured it on and sent the dish out to served? That’s what it tasted like. Also, it was odd to eat Orecchiette that was coated with breadcrumbs. And… there were no broccoli florets in the dish, only stems. Also, there seemed to be a lot of confusion regarding the 210 oz beers we ordered. First we were served a single 16 oz beer which we sent back, then we were brought 210 oz beers, but NOT the ones we ordered. Turns out those two were supposed to have been served to the folks sitting next to us. I mean, how hard can it be to remember an order for 2 identical 10 oz beers? We really liked the ambience here, and our server was very pleasant. Maybe we just hit this place on an off night. Would be willing to give it another go in the future.

We went for lunch and we were very pleased with the service and food. The very best mussels I have ever had, in a Mariniere sauce. Incredible! I’ll definitely come back when I’m in the area. Thank you!

Incredible find in Sebastopol!!! You cant go wrong at this upscale but casual eatery in downtown. The décor is nice but not pretentious and the service is stellar. A great selection of small plates and entrees and a very well chosen cocktail menu. Try the raw bar for fresh oysters– they have a good fresh in season variety. I am not sure of their happy hours– but the deals are amazing!!! Overall this place totally deserves 5 stars for great food and great service that made my weekend!

Wow! Impressive local find. Everything we had was perfect or close to it. I was pretty blown away! The butternut squash with burrata and sage is amazing(my personal favorite tonight)! Calamari had the most perfect texture of any I’ve ever tried, and excellent flavor to boot. Charcuterie plate was very good and the mac and cheese was unique, creamy, and delicious! I’ll be back.

K & L is a classic! A friend and I had a tough time choosing a happy hour spot in Sebastopol, and we finally chose K & L Bistro. I’m so glad we did. The open kitchen means plenty of excitement for those who like to watch the food being prepared, and the roomy bar can accomodate quite a few drink-loving friends. We barely made it for happy hour, and I was shocked to find a bar table open and waiting for us. The menu includes dishes from el pastor tacos to ahi tartare to mac-n-cheese. They also have cocktails of the day for only $ 5 until 6pm. I chose the el pastor tacos, oysters, and the happy hour white wine, which was lovely. I forgot to ask exactly what it was – but it was refreshing. I have a weakness for creamy aioli’s, so I also asked if they had any garlic aioli. This was a perfect match for the bread! I definitely give this bistro a thumbs up, and I plan to return soon.
