By far the worst Mary’s chain. I’ve been eating here for 20 years and over the last 2 years the quality of ingredients and the food has gone downhill. The pizza is soggy, and the toppings are very sparse. The Mary’s salad has always been my go-to, but now it’s just a lot of wilted Iceberg lettuce with very few toppings, I don’t know if the restaurant is consistently running low on ingredients or just trying to save money by limiting toppings, but $ 12 for a plate of iceberg lettuce, kidney beans and cheese is not worth it. Plus the delivery time is outrageously long regardless of time of day /distance from restaurant, it always takes at least an hour, usually an hour and a half. Love Mary’s, but the Sebastopol restaurant is seriously struggling. Please improve your food and service.

Marys is a Sonoma county institution. It’s good. It’s pricey. But I keep going back when I’m there. We stopped in on our way ack from occidental. 3 AsianAmericans and 4 AfricanAmericans. Heheh. Well if you’ve been to Sonoma county then you get my giggle. Onward. The service was good, quick and helpful. We ordered 3 medium pizzas, 1 order regular fries and 1 order garlic fries. 2 small salads. BBQ chicken pizza Veggie pizza Pepperoni and jalapeño. Overall it was fine. Distinct. But not insatiable. You know. When I went to Russian River Brewery and had a beer with the pepperoni and jalapeño pizza I was hooked. Seriously that’s my go to now. But there were no hooks so I give it a 3 star review. It’s family friendly and I’ll keep going back when it’s convenient but that’s that. The garlic fries… Well there was a lot of garlic. It was insane and very tasty. Check It out. Maybe it’ll have a hook for you.

Place is alright but not great. It used to be convenient but ever since they changed up their«delivery zone» we are no longer able to get them. Way to cut off a majority of Sebastopol now. Probably won’t be long before they close just like Terra Vino did.

What a huge disappointment tonight!!! I have ordered pizza’s for delivery from Mary’s for a very long time!!! I always tip the delivery drivers well as I know its a tough gig for a young person and they have to drive 2 miles to my house. I ordered my pizza as usual and was told it would be almost a 2 hour wait for delivery. I did not have a problem with that as it’s Halloween night and I was sure they were busy. After 40 minutes went by, I received a voice message from«Brian» telling me that they were not going to be able to deliver my pizza and asked if I could«pick it up?» I called the restaurant back right away and the phone was answered by Brian. He informed me that they wouldn’t be able to deliver my pizza. He said that I was«out» of their delivery zone now. What? Why wasn’t I told that when I first called? He said«I will send you a coupon.» Well, your«coupon» doesn’t help me tonight when I’m hungry and let my son borrow my car so I can’t pick my pizza up. I won’t be spending my hard earned money at Mary’s anymore. I’ll also be letting all my friends know.

Rachel was an example of the best customer service. We had a group of eleven and we all felt the service was exceptional and we love the gnocchi with meatball.

I’ve been eating at Mary’s since I was a kid and have always loved it. As of late it kinda feels like it’s not what it use to be. When we get to-go orders it’s wrong more times than not, now we double check what’s in the bag even when the call it off of the receipt. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still good… it just use to be great.

What a disappointment! Here’s what we ordered over the phone from a very friendly voice: a large vegetarian pizza EXTRA sauce to-go. Here’s what we picked up: $ 26 of SAUCE-free bread with what had to be an entire white onion in chunks, a smattering of overcooked(?!?) soggy bell pepper and a pinch of canned olives. It was as though they heard ‘hold the sauce’. No mushrooms, no tomato, no cheese. Bummer. Really. I HATE giving bad reviews but I also hate BADPIZZA!!! Even Domino’s worst would have been better than this pizza. This was a memorably awful pizza. A pizza this bad doesn’t deserve another chance.

It is hard not to like this place. Everything you would look for in a comfortable, down home enjoyable dinner. It is right across from my inlaws’ house so we often go there or take the pizza to go(and across the street). The décor is nothing to write home about but it is very comfortable and down-homey. The silverware does not match. The servers wear jeans and t-shirts. The beer & wine list is all mainline, well known items — so nothing innovative but really good food. The pizza is very solid. Down home and hearty. They have your usual selection of iceberg lettuce based salads, garlic bread, breadsticks and Italian soups. If you are looking to impress your date, go somewhere else. If you are looking for a comfortable place to get some solid, comfort food with the family, Mary’s is your place.

We had Marys in Sebastopol cater pasta for our daughters wedding last weekend. From the first conversation with Sarah to the final one on the day of the wedding was nothing short of awesome! She was so helpful to us in figuring out how much we needed and assured us all would be taken care of, down to extra sauce for each tray. On the day of the wedding, a couple short hours away, we received a call from our other caterer for chicken that their business was on fire and therefore could not deliver. I called Sarah to see if she could help us out as we were now going to be short on food. She calmed me down and doubled our order. All was delivered on time, hot and delicious, to our daughters reception. I can’t thank her and her crew enough for saving the day and taking the stress away from what could have been very stressful. Thank you Sebastopol Marys Pizza Shack!!!

having had marys pizza for years in most of their locations, figured we would try one a few times also. the pizza was slighty sub standard as far as marys pizzas are concerned, still not bad however. their service was great considering we had a large group of 20+ people, and their large party room rocked for our number of people. all in all a good spot considering your in sebastopol.

Always like to write good reviews, but was really disappointed. Wanted to try Mary’s again and ended up with a pizza that wasn’t cooked all the way, didn’t have the ingredients on top evenly spread out, and tasted pretty bland. Like to support local but probably won’t be back. Have always loved their pizza in the past at other locations. Also, they take your name as you place your order, but don’t use it to let you know your pizza is ready. Had to walk up and inquire and the pizza had been ready sitting on top of the ovens. On their behalf, they said it just got done.. . not sure. After a long day of serving others, it just wasn’t a high point.. .

4 stars, rather than 3 because our server was great! And the family/kid friendly atmosphere was perfect for our large rowdy bunch. ;) The veggie pizza was mediocre, our breadsticks were burned, so we didn’t get them… but we were offered complimentary breadsticks when our pizza was already done. I opted for dessert(not complimentary) but DELICIOUS! A salted caramel pie… soooo yummy! I think the best part about this place, is that it is still locally owned and a great place to bring the kids! They always have something to color and display the children’s art all over the restaurant. :) I also love that they deliver when I’m staying in town. It’s nice to have a delivery that isn’t just pizza. :) Tip: Ask for water(if you want it) they don’t bring it automatically. They have party/banquet rooms. And most importantly, have fun! :))

Server was excellent! Manager was awful, pizza was burnt, cooked by manager! :-(very disappointing! And soup was cold! :-(. Every time we come and she is in charge the food is not so good and she is rude to her employees too! We love to support our local restaurants; however, when food comes out like this and you watch and observe everything and it doesn’t give you a good taste it does make it hard to keep coming back! :-(

Gosh… I’ve had the worst pizzas from this place. I tried it twice… trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. and a few nights ago when I gave them a second chance they gave me a pizza that wasn’t even cooked all of the way. All mush… so…literally threw away $ 20…a medium pizza at that. Hey I don’t mind paying a little extra for good quality… but…yea. Never again.

This place has improved since 2011! The last two or three times I’ve been there the service is at a normal speed. The staff is friendly and talk like they know you. The food is a normal temperature. Keep up the good work.

Good for vegans too — just order the garden pizza with no cheese or dairy. Great salad, and the pizza is made perfectly with everything layered in the right order. I ordered extra marinara and this was placed in the middle layer so the vegetables were done perfectly, saucy, not soggy, and the pizza was delicious with the little bits of garlic on top. Perfectly organized. They seem to have too many staff on board. Although the room was empty there were 5 workers there, most service based places would send the extra help home. The extra help was not waiting the tables or adding to customer service. When change was given(tax was $ 2) I only received $ 5 bills. I had to have another girl break the $ 5 into ones since the waitress went into the back and stayed away from all the tables she was serving while I packed up to leave. This was the waitress’ way of getting a bigger tip — bad practice. The bill of $ 24 calls for a tip of $ 3.60 if following 15%, not $ 5. They don’t need two hosts, and three prep cooks. Have the waitress host, and only have 1 prep cook or this business will suffer from the added cost. More employees = more distraction and less work.

We came here after eating some tasty mushrooms and playing with hornets in antique cars. We ordered a large cheese pizza, breadsticks, and a diet Pepsi. The price for everything with tip was $ 35. That’s kind of expensive. I remember that in elementary school(circa 1995 – 2001), soda from a vending machine was only 35 cents. Nonetheless, the pizza here is amazing. The cheese is so cheesy. We even had leftovers, which were amazing. I like this area near Mary’s Pizza Shack. I like River people. They know how to have a good time.

Really disappointed in Mary’s…Yes, they’re a Sonoma County«institution» and should be recognized as such. BUT… their employees should NOT be throwing around the f-bomb in the middle of a restaurant with children present! We had dinner here on a Friday evening where there were at least 6 kids and we overheard the line cooks have an interesting discussion in which the f-bomb was dropped more than once. And one of the cooks sounded like he was NOT having a good day. I’m not a huge fan of Mary’s to begin with — I usually only go for the breadsticks and soup — but this was not an experience I want to repeat!

Found a coupon for this place and decided to check it out. Upon entering we were told to sit wherever we wanted. We chose a table in the back and took a seat. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food came out a little slow and the tables around us sat dirty for awhile. The waitress(Amber) was working her tail off as she was the only server and bus person. The food was good but, the pizza. we had pepperoni was too greasy for me. It was dripping off and very messy. The people next to us had the pasta and said it was great. I would try that next time. I really liked the décor and would go back.

My family used to do Pizza Friday almost every week. We would get a large half Mary’s half Vegetarian and for 15 years I was totally happy with that. The fact is, I still am. The pizza is the star here. Don’t go and get a burger and be annoyed it isn’t good. Its Mary’s PIZZA Shack. Get the Pizza! I see alot of reviews about slow/bad service. I can understand that. But don’t forget that almost everyone working here is from Analy. I remember seeing my older sister’s friends work here and then when I was in high school my friends started showing up and now that I am grown and returning to my home town I see more young people working behind the counter and waiting on tables. Chill out people this is a small town pizza joint. Its slow. Its kooky. Its Sebastopol for goodness sake! Grab a free bread stick and chill the heck out while these kids make some of the best pizza around.
