Mombo’s Pizza

I suppose I was spoiled in my hometown, where there are 2 locally owned spots that have amazing pizza with a wide variety of fresh ingredients. Both serve thin crisp crusts dominated by wonderful toppings. I have yet to find a pizza joint in the bay area that comes even close.

Solid slices and great people.

This was one of my favorite pizza places period! It competed with Old Chicago for the best Pizza around. I’ve traveled Italy, and had some amazing pizzas there, and although pizza is very different here, it’s still delicious. Mombo’s was one of my favorites because the people are nice, and their pesto pizza is amazing! However, this all changed the other week.
Unfortunately, I got food poisoning here, and now I will never be a Mombo’s customer again. This is disappointing because I have been frequenting this pizza place for many years now.
Good luck though Mombo’s, but take better care of your customers, and I hope you change some things to ensure no other customers get food poisoning.

Like Jim T., great pizza but teenager at counter threw my change into my hand. I had to ask him if he generally throws the change at customers, just made it a bad experience. I would suggest to the owner of Mombo’s to really hear these latest reviews before things get out of control, it’s a great place and I would hate for you to loose business because of some uncalled behavior of someone on your staff.

Excellent Pizza made in a real pizza oven (not those conveyor type machines), friendly and super-​polite staff, and great lunch deals!

They serve great pizza! Would definitely recommend to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet.

Good pizza unfortunately served by snotty teenagers with no clue about running a restaurant or good customer relations.

I give 3 stars for their pizza. We quite enjoy the pizza, but their delivery service is misleading and terrible. If a pizza place is unable to accurately approximate delivery times, they need to rethink how they run things in my opinion. I do not often write reviews, and do not take these lightly. It takes multiple problems for me to write here. I have experienced wait times that doubled what I was told (told 45, actual 1.5 hrs) and the pizza cannot even be characterized as warm, I would say ROOM TEMPERATURE. I have also had them completely FORGET about my order in the past.
My recommendation is to either rethink the your delivery method, or only do carryout and focus on the pizza, because we love it (when it’s hot).

While in town for The Emerald Cup we stopped at Mambo’s for Pizza. It was so delicious we went back the following day too! We HIGHLY recommend Mambo’s if you want the BEST pizza in Sebastopol. The crust is ridiculous :)

They actually close at 9, not 10 (Sunday). Anyways my boyfriend and I went out for a drive and stopped here on the way home. Let me say that even if the food wasn’t good we would be back just because of the service. I can’t remember his name, but the guy making our meatball sandwich (which was delicious btw) was awesome. He nailed the customer service area… Demolished it actually. Definitely will be coming back !!!

This place is great! I made a huge pick-​up order and was very satisfied with my experience. First, I’ll talk about service. The guy on the phone taking my order was very polite and patient with me given that I had to change my order a couple of times because I had a budget. Each time I changed it he helped me calculate the total. They also have to show you each pizza when they serve you to make sure you’re happy with it, and although I personally wasn’t too worried about them messing up the order, I appreciated that they did that.
And now, the actual pizza. Delicious! Huge slices and a ton of different options. I’m a sucker for ricotta cheese on pizza so the Florentine was a front runner for me. Also ordered the Maui and Mombo Combo which my party of 30 really enjoyed. Thanks Mombo’s Pizza!

Used their website menu to call in pizza and salad to go. Lots of great combos! We went with their light pizza which is also a little less expensive — their pizza is a little pricey. Pizza was definitely thinner than some places, but not New York thin like we hoped. Overall, enjoyed the pizza and would order again if we’re in the area. The half of a Greek salad was pretty basic so we would skip that next time around.

Mombo’s pizza is pretty darn good stuff. I can’t say its the best I have ever had, but I can say that it definitely has some tasty pizza.
The pizza is thin and they offer slices or full pies.
The only thing I would say is that they are a little pricey and the ambiance is very casual. It is like a hole in the wall place.

Mombos is delicious! The feed 4 special is a deal! Favorite pizza is the Greco, and I love their Greek salad!

So the place is in a small little strip mall. It has an old school pizzeria vibe. Green and white topped tables, 2 big pizza ovens, a guy in the corner tossing the dough in the air. Local art is for sale on the walls, they have beers on tap.
I’ve read it’s the closest thing to NY pizza here in the North Bay. I haven’t eaten at any other pizzerias here in the North Bay, that serve «NY» style pizza. The only thing I can compare this to is the times I had in Manhattan, and Brooklyn. It is a valiant effort at recreating the NY pie. I need to eat at some of the other ones here, before I say it’s the best. You can get it by the slice, or whole pie.
There’s a small counter with pies to chose from, if you just want a couple of slices. They toss it in the oven, and bam-​hot pizza. The tables are equipped with shakers of dry oregano, crushed red pepper, parmesan, garlic powder, and s+p. They have salads, and some other bites. Gelato, too. Haven’t tried it yet.
Be advised if they’re busy, they might be short on pizzas by the slice. You may end up waiting a while. When it’s mellow, it’s pretty speedy. The staffs been chill, and friendly. I’ll be back. Bön appetite!

Great service and great pizza. The special is the way to go. The slice if pizza is huge and the side salad was big too. Hubby got a slice and soup. The soup was 16 oz… wow! All that plus an extra slice it was only 18 bux! Guys who work there were friendly and helpful, would go again if in the area.

Parking is shared with a shopping center, so there is always plenty of parking. It is in a row of businesses, like a strip mall. When you walk in, the aroma floors you. The place is clean, busy, and has plenty of tables and chairs. Its much bigger than it appears from outside. There are lots of employees all happily bustling around. I mean LOTS. Things move quickly, and my order was ready 25 minutes after my phone call, just as I was told.
I ordered via telephone, and Darryl/​Darrel took my order. He was patient, friendly, and efficient. He knew his stuff! And when I arrived, he waited on me, and was great in person too. Personable and professional. As I was being helped, another guy came over to do something with the cash. He was friendly too. I complimented the place, and both Men were proud and bragging some. I LIKE THAT.
Mombo’s Pizza is not chewy greasy bread and cheese like I have suffered through before elsewhere. It is REAL pizza. Seriously good, and well put together. I prefer the thinner crust. And Mombo’s is thicker than thin, so it does not end up too dry and crunchy. The toppings were generous, and fresh. Mine had yummy red sauce, and the perfect amount. My cheese did not float around on top of, or slide off of the crust.
I told them I usually cook at home. They suggested other ways I can enjoy Mombos: they make & sell pre-​made frozen pizzas, and sell their Pizza Dough too. Wow, these guys are great! They make good salads, at least 3 kinds, (I had Caesar) and soups too. YUMMY!
They sell Pizza by the pie, in 3 sizes, or by the slice. Plus have specials on the menu, and offer occasional coupons for discounts in ads or online. I like this place. I am coming back for more PIZZA!!! Because my Mombo Combo tastes GREAT. I might even stop for just a slice sometime. Although I am looking forward to my leftovers… in fact, I think I will have another slice right now.

Unilocal says this place closes at 10pm on Sunday but that’s only their Santa Rosa location. Their Sebastopol location closes at 9pm Sunday-​Wednesday!
Consistently cheesy, saucy, friendly and all around yummy. Hands down the best place in Sebastopol to grab a slice or order a whole pizza. Only took 15 – 20 minutes to order a large on the phone and have it ready for pick up.
Everyone is really friendly inside and I’ve never had a bad experience. I wish they stayed open a little later but that’s just me being greedy ;)
They also have a location next to the junior college in Santa Rosa.

This is the best pizza– IMO– anywhere.
My favorite pizza is one I made up. Mushroom garlic clam in a red sauce with pesto. That is the secret. They put globs of pesto randomly throughout the marinara pizza. Yes it is a bit greasy due to the pesto. The mushrooms– literally covering the pizza– cut the oil but napkins also help.
Rounding out the perfect pizza dinner – they probably have good salads– but I’m talking about moonlight brewing’s IPA. I’ve always loved Brian’s death and taxes but I am such an IPA girl that I have a sip of friends black lager and drink all of my IPA.
