We are from out of town, we drove by and thought safe place like other chains we have at home. We were shocked! The service was excellent, the food was very flavorful. It didn’t appear to be a chain restaurant. We had the pork tenderloin and the chicken both were excellent, beaming with flavor. The bread offering with dipping sauce were excellent and free. We followed it with desert. If you are in this area we suggest visiting there for a meal. I had hoped they be open for breakfast but lunch and dinner only.

Ryan and Amy behind the bar are excellent. The bread with dipping oil is addictive as well as the appetizers. I always get too full to eat a meal.

Went last night with some friends and sat at the bar. Great service, great beers, and Three-Cheese Pistachio pizza was phenomenal(and very reasonably priced).

Went with some of the same friends last night and everyone really enjoyed it. Great beers on tap and I loved the almond crustes goat cheese salad. Friends got a white pizza that was really great. Will continue to go to this chain and avoid all others.

Had the buffalo tenders and mango shrimp spring rolls to start. Both were good. Then had the pizza and the quesadilla for main course. Much better service than last time. Food was fresh and hot. No rush tonight Thank you

I am officially DONE with this place. I used to like NYAJ when they first moved into the Boston area, but over the years, the quality of the food has declined and the atmosphere has gotten so generic. I moved to this area several months ago, and we tried to give this location a chance, since there aren’t all that many good dining options in Seekonk. The first trip was a mid-week dinner, and I was honestly shocked by the prices of the things on the menu. Um, $ 16 for a salad? THISISSEEKONK. The food was mediocre and the beer wasn’t in good shape. Just a bad trip. I took my son for lunch one day to give them another chance, and that was ok. I got the vegetarian version of the Tuscan sandwich and it was ok. I had a birthday certificate so it didn’t cost me anything, so whatever. It was just ok. Last night I found myself with both kids, short on time, and without any dinner prepped. Since it had been a few months since my last visit, I stupidly thought we should try it again. It was quite a while before we saw the server, who was over-the-top disinterested in taking care of us. I had seen in an email that they introduced a new veggie burger, so I decided to give it a try. Quinoa, sweet potatoes, roasted mushrooms, and black beans with a guacamole topping — sounds pretty good right? It was so bland! I don’t even understand how they achieved such blandness with those ingredients. They charge $ 12 for that too… I can get an amazing, interesting, and flavorful veggie burger and sweet potato fries at Eli’s Kitchen for $ 10. My iced tea glass was empty for the second half of my meal and the server never bothered to offer me a refill; eventually, when I was nearly done with my food, she came and filled up my iced tea glass with water and walked away. The menu said the kids’ meals came with Hoodsie cups, but she never offered those to my kids when they was done eating, either. She just dropped off the check and called it a day. I can count on one hand the times that I have left bad tips at restaurants. I won’t do it unless the service is abysmal. But this server was abysmal. Besides not giving a damn about our table, she was rude and cold. NYAJ, you used to be a fun, family-friendly restaurant with good food and reasonable prices. You’ve turned into a generic, over-priced stupid chain. Goodbye.

Yes, this is a chain restaurant, but I think the food is very good. Got the shrimp tacos and they were loaded with great chunks of mango, black beans, cilantro and fresh vegetables. The shrimp was delicious and light. The corn tortilla could had been heated a bit more, but overall it was a very good lunch. The waitress was smiley, friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience.

The cob with salmon is my favorite! Done so well, fresh and tastey. Paired with a great glass of wine, true perfection.

NYAJ has become one of our favorite restaurants. We love going here for lunch on weekends. The Saturday bartender is excellent – very attentive and has an amazing memory. We came here once during football season about fantasy football and the next time we were in he asked how our teams were doing and even remembered which teams we root for. This location always has great beers on tap. You can always find something new to try and something you love. The bartenders are always willing to let you try something before you commit to a pint of it. We’ve been here probably 20+ times, and have yet to sit in the restaurant area. The bar has an awesome vibe. The food is consistent and the bread is addictive. Veggies are always cooked well. The menu changes regularly, and i’ve been sad to see some dishes go. The crabcake sandwich was my favorite but is no longer on the menu. The balsmamic glazed salmon is on the kids menu but not on the regular menu. However, one of the bartenders told us there’s a secret menu that if you ask for some of the older entrees, the chef will still make them – and the balamic glazed salmon is on the secret menu. Order it! My husband loves the steak tips and I also like pizzas. The mashed cauliflower, when offered, is memorable. That said, we aren’t a huge fan of the appetizers. The Mango Shrimp Spring Rolls had too much mint flavor for me and the dumplings were nothing special. We’ve been there for happy hour a few times but never found anything we liked on the appetizer menu. I hope one day NYAJ’s offers mussels as an appetizer, because that would just make this place perfect.

Very nice place for parents and children. Our 5 year old loved watching the pizzas being baked and he enjoyed his tasty pizza even more. Everything we ordered was delicious and the prices were good. I only wish they had the option for more expensive entrees with larger portions. Our son liked his pizza so much he requested it the day after he was released from the hospital after surgery. He usually doesn’t like food that much. The manager even gave him an ice cream. Clean and attractive atmosphere and fresh food. Can’t go wrong!

I’m so glad I finally gave this place a try. My gf kept saying we haaaad to go because, «they just have the best bread». So one day while shopping in Seekonk, I gave in and we went for lunch. It was so worth it! For a chain restaurant, I couldn’t believe how fantastic the service was, how clean the restaurant looked, and how fresh the food tasted. We sat at the bar, and after expressing how I usually eat gluten free, our awesome bartender brought gluten free bread and a gluten free menu. I was also able to order a gluten free beer! So anyway, I ordered the herb-crusted haddock, which came with mashed potatoes, green beans, and tarter sauce on the side. And it was DELICIOUS. Seriously, delicious. Even if you eat gluten, it’s worth a try. Definitely looking forward to going back to this place!

So let me start out by saying that I am not a fan of chain restaurants. This regional chain has overcome that stigma in every way that is important. The menu is good and they keep it fresh with seasonal selections. The bar staff and wait staff genuinely enjoy working here, so it is easy to see a familiar face even if you haven’t been here in a while(translation: the bar staff rocks!). There is a loyal clientele, so it is easy to run into a familiar face on this side of the bar, too. I recommend the lettuce wraps when the apps are half priced before 6:00, and the jambalaya anytime(not authentic, but still yummy). I have been traveling to southern New England for 2 years, and considering that many of the local places I have tried are hit and miss, Joe’s is refreshingly consistent.

I love this place for its bread and dip concoction, as well as the buffalo chicken pizza! I would recommend taking care when eating the bread — it’s crazy filling and can easily ruin an entrée! The service is great, but don’t do the survey at the end; it is way longer than you might expect.

I have been to the Dartmouth location a few times and loved it. Today my son and I went to the Seekonk location and I was happy that we received the same excellent service and yummy food. We arrived a few minutes before they opened and they let us in so we got a head start on that fabulous bread and dipping oil(that stuff should be illegal). The prices are reasonable and you get a heap of food. My son got the Backyard burger and I got the Southwestern burger. The were cooked just as we asked and so good. This all boils down to quality managers hiring quality people serving quality food. Thanks for all you do Not So Average Joes!

The restaurant lives up to its name. It really is «Not Your Average Joe’s». It was a go to restaurant for our team for lunch and dinner since it was close to our work location in East Providence. I tried a lot of the items on the menu and there was nothing I did not like. The complimentary bread and olive oil is great. The New England clam chowder, Cobb Salad, and Ahi Tuna are very good. The rosemary skewered scallops are the best item on the menu. I do not love scallops but I could not get enough of them at Not Your Average Joe’s. Another entrée it is known for and I recommend is the butternut squash cannelloni. The balsamic glazed grilled salmon is also excellent. On the other hand, I would not recommend steak. The steak frites were not terrible. However, it pales in comparison to everything else. If you are passing by Providence and looking for recommendations, please see

We decided to try NYAJ today after driving by it 100 times. We got there around noon and expected to have a long wait. We were pleasantly surprised and seated immediately. Our waitress came over to our table quickly and took our drink order. She came back shortly with our drinks and that glorious mixture of olive oil, Parmesan and chili flakes. The bread was phenomenal! I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. I must not have paid too much attention to the description, but was ecstatic when I saw the fresh mozzarella on the sandwich. Instead of using the bbq sauce I ordered I decided to slather the inside of the bread with the olive oil mix. It was unbelievable! We did have to wait a while to get the check, but other than that it was an ideal lunch. I will definitely be back!

We were a party of 12 and there was no hiccup in service. Complimentary warm bread and olive oil, everyone’s meal was done as requested and was amazing. The waitress was patient, courteous, knowledgeable, and fast. One of the best places I have eaten on bi-monthly trips to RI. Definitely recommend
