We just got the menu in the mail and decided to try it out our for a quick Sunday takeout. The sushi was delicious. I was impressed with the size and taste of the rolls. Yum! It’s hard to give a rating off of one visit, but I’ll definitely be back!

As a Chinese student, to be honest, the food is way too salty and the meat is not fresh. I told the server and she told me it was my problem and that was the way they cooked for years. Alright, I am not professional but I AMYOURCUSTOMER!!!

Well the first time we orderd, we figured they were having a bad night. The next time the delivery driver raced up my dead end street nearly hitting a child. Didn’t come to my door, but yet called me to tell me he was outside and waited for me to come out to his car. Not to mention our food was cold, what else should we expect after an hour and a half wait time.

The best part of my dinner from Red Basil tonight was WASHINGITDOWNWITHWATERANDGETTINGITAWAYFROMMYTASTEBUDS! After waiting over an hour for our food, I called to say WTF, and she literally answered the phone with a teenagers apathetic, «Ello.» «Uh, is this Red Basil.» «Yea.» The driver had many deliveries to make. Not so Fast and Furious. «I hope my food is not cold.» «I hope so too.» Actual converstion. The brown rice that I didnt ask for was okay, but the soggy egg roll on top of it was not. This place reminds me of the high risk of eating«Chinese» «Food.»

Didn’t want to leave even one star but had to… Not happy at all… Been trying red basil over past couple of months and it just keeps getting worse and worse… General Tso chicken dinner was horrible… Tasted like frozen chicken nuggets that were thawed and got soggy then drowned in a sauce… And the crab Rangoon were obvious frozen. Fried rice was more like old rice tossed in soy sauce…

Love their sushi, only reason we go. You can’t get fresh reasonably priced sushi in Seekonk. Ichigo Ichi is here but is extremely over priced. Red Basil is fresh and yummy. I can’t comment on their traditional Chinese food since we no longer eat Chinese,(lived in NYC for, lots of GOOD Chinese take out).

I don’t normally give reviews like this to small business but I ordered online for delivery at 6:21 on a Monday night. I received my meal at 8:30. If this had been an isolated incident, I would have forgiven that also but it was the second time delivery service took about two hours to arrive. This business has a great selection of Chinese and Japanese food and it has always been delicious. But they need to either fix their delivery service or scrap it entirely. And when there is an error with delivery, be honest with the customer about the delay, I called three times throughout the process, I am 6 minutes down the road. I definitely would have picked it up if I had been given the honest delivery time. Instead they continuously told us «he’s on his way, 15 minutes.»

At most, I can give 3 stars in the hidden strip mall Chinese venue. I ordered the Thai basil noodle dish. It was anything but«Thai» and in name only. The veggies were pre-cut restaurant supplier mixed veggies, and the sauce out of generic Asian fish sauce. However, I think the quality is «consistently» average. So if you are looking for a quick, average Asian fares, then this place is for you. If you want quick family dinner, then this place might do it.

I’m definelty not seeing how this place gets like 4 stars from users. The service here is rude. The atmosphere is unappealing. You even eat with styrofoam plates and plastic utensils. You hear yelling in the kitchen constantly and that makes it uncomfortable. Other customers don’t know what to do when they walk in and when they sit down, they look upset and leave discouraged. Can’t blame the customer! For the food, it’s not that good. I find it very acidic. Their Thai menu is only pad Thai, which sucks here anyways. Don’t trust the seafood here, especially the sushi. The sweet and sour chicken is good here. The general tso is really acidic, I’ve never ate it acidic as much as this was, too much rice vinegar in the sauce so they can stretch the sauce out. This place is kinda cheap but this is also the kind of place that I worry someone is gonna spit on my plate. Just my feelings!

I know, I know — 4STARSFOR A CHINESETAKEOUTRESTAURANT — what makes this so special. Well to keep this review short and to the point — fast, fresh, and reasonably priced Chinese Food. Red Basil Asian Express is not trying to reinvent the wheel people. If you are looking for Asian Fusion or crazy ingredients you might want to rethink coming here BUT if you are looking for basic«Americanized» Chinese food that we all know and love — you will leave with a full belly and a smile on your face. I did not have the opportunity to eat in but ordered take out. I was in from out of town and needed something simple and not heavy prior to my ½ marathon the next morning. Steamed chicken and mixed vegetables, brown rice, an extra order of vegetables, and some garlic sauce on the side made its way into a take out bag and back to my room. And it was glorious — in contrast to what I usually receive in my mixed vegetable container — before me lay mushrooms, red peppers, water chestnuts and celery. Yes — the shrimp was a bit over done(I think it was«fresh frozen) and the garlic sauce was more on the sweeter side then I am used to — it met my hunger needs to a tee. I will add to make sure you have utensils in your bag before you leave and enough soy sauce/duck sauce to flavor your meal. I almost leave utensil and condiment less before I drove away

When dining in at a restaurant for dinner and when you walk in you are told by the person pacing around the empty dining room that it’s seat yourself, pay, and pick up when done it’s a little confusing. It’s a normal restaurant setting, they give you plastic knives, forks, spoons, and styrafoam plates to eat off of. I’ve never encountered anything like this before. I didn’t make it in for the buffet which most people mention. I ordered the Basil chicken which was cooked with dried basil as opposed to fresh and wasn’t very spicy. I suppose you get what you pay for but if your businesses name is Red Basil i figured they’d have some fresh basil on hand. 3 Stars are for the reasonable price and the food being bearable… def go elsewhere if you have the chance.

I am surprised by the poor reviews of this place. When going to a small chinese place what do you expect when they have a deal offering $ 3.95 for a pound of food? I tried the whole offering from the buffet and it was above average for chinese food in the area. Was it the best chinese I have had? No. I would say NYC chinese, 7 moons, and Jackie’s. But for the price, this cannot be beat.

I daringly ordered delivery from here and was pretty pleasantly surprised that the fact of the mix of items I ordered from the typical chicken combination, too rangoons to sushi… that the sushi was best of all the items. Rolls were fresh, clean and good sized for the price didn’t like the spicy tuna«minced» too much but the other two rolls were on point. The small order of crab rangoons was huge like 8 pieces for 4 bucks! Steamed dumplings were meh pretty soggy and tasteless and the combination plate was not very good they need to really re work there fried rice. All and all it wasn’t too bad. I would order some sushi rolls from them again but that’s all I am all set with the Chinese food portion of this establishment

My backhanded compliment to this place is that out of all the crappy chinese delivery in the area, this is the least crappy. In fact, their crab rangoons are pretty swell. All of the staples, like chicken tenders, spare ribs, general tso chicken and beef teriyaki are decent most of the time. Lo mein, not so great.

Beyond disappointed. The wife and I were so excited to try a new Chinese place in Seekonk. The last one has gone down hill. This one was worse. We ordered a wide selection off the menu. Not one dish was edible. $ 35 straight into the trash. Run away while you still can.

If I eat somewhere for the first time and the food is just ok, it’s hard for me to give them another chance. I had wonton soup and their sweet and sour chicken combo plate(egg roll and fried rice) and it was good if not unremarkable. The wonton soup was… ok(it would have been nice if they gave some fried noodles), the boneless chicken was… ok, the egg roll was… ok, and the fried rice was very plain so it was just barely… ok. They were also very stingy on the duck sauce(three packets) and didn’t give any soy sauce. Come on, what do those cost, a couple of pennies each? Red Basil offers sushi and Thai in addition to Chinese, so if that’s what you’re looking for you should read some other reviews.

The interior was rather cold and not very inviting but the food made up for it. The pad Thai I ordered was tasty but the plastic silverware was unappealing. The buffet was most likely old, and over cooked. The service was nice and did a good job catering to my vegetarian preferences.

We were very excited to try out this new restaurant, esp because they offer delivery and sushi! Overall this is a pretty good restaurant. Nim Chow, shumai, mushi chicken all pretty good. White rice/fried rice freshly made. Prices are reasonable, delivery was on time. We will definitely be eating here again!
