Can I just say that the banana pudding here is amazing! And I don’t really even like bananas, but my mom convinced me to try it. I’m now hooked! Their food is decent American food. I love the 2 for 20 deal too when your out on a budget!

Had the lunch beer battered cod fish with Mac & Cheese instead of fries. I could swear the fish was the same beer battered fish that you find in the frozen section at Sam’s. The Mac & Cheese should had been more cheese and had no seasoning kinda flat in taste. The staff was friendly.

My family just stopped here for dinner driving to San Antonio from Houston. Wouldn’t have stopped here just seeing the sign, but read good reviews. The food was great! Home cooked, so delicious southern food. Fried pickles were great, pot roast was delicious, chicken fried chicken was great too. Banana pudding — AMAZING! The service was great. Attentive and friendly servers. As we were starting out on a family vacation, the kids were delighted to find trivial pursuit cards on the table and we all really enjoyed the kids quizzing mom and dad! It was a fun way to engage the family — good quality time with no electronics! The kids also loved that they got a toy when they left! Since it was my son’s birthday dinner, we requested a dessert with candle of possible. They brought a huge chocolate cake piece with ice cream and sprinkles! The only disappointment was that they served Pepsi and not Coke. Oh, and that we don’t live closer! It will definitely be our stop of choice when traveling through seguin from now on!

The wife and I come here all the time. I think we’ve had almost everything on the menu except the pasta, which we are going to try on our next visit. They have seafood, burgers, pasta, salads, and some southern favorites. Good place for a Saturday night dinner. I only gave four stars because sometimes the service can be a little slow. I’d recommend this place to everyone!

Went in here with my boyfriend a little while back. We both had the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. The chicken fried steak was just average not the best, not the worst either. Same goes for the potatoes. We both had the sweet tea which was good and it was served in mason jars which I like. The bread was really good also. We also enjoyed our dessert. I believe we had the turtle sundae. Lastly, our server was a friendly guy. Didn’t catch his name.

Had catfish and it was just OK. Nothing bad about it but nothing special.

We decided to stop here and eat on our way to eat at Chili’s. Now I wish we would have continued on to Chili’s like the original plan. Our drinks came quick and our order was taken quick. Then it all went downhill from there. We waited for our meal and we’re never checked on until the meal arrived. I had to drink my husband’s tea because my glass was empty and our waitress was too busy texting on her phone behind the counter. My husbands chicken fried steak was mostly breading and the french fries tasted like they were cooked in old grease.

Horrible. Was told this was awesome place do thought we would try it out. Big mistake. Hardly anyone in the place but took 10 mins to be seated. Servers got into an argument about where we were to site evening using the«f» word before storming off. We ordered and 1 hour later we received cool food… Yes one hour we alerted them that the food was cold and they were astonished… Returned the food to kitchen brought food back piping hot and burnt from microwave. I would recommend a little less hanging at the bar for the servers and a little more costumer service I certainly would no recommend this place even if your starving

Omg… where do I start. The absolute best service yesterday. The food was pretty good. I had the cod and shrimp combo. There was so much food on my plate. I also ordered banana pudding. The best restaurant banana pudding ever!

Their food is delicious but beware in eating here. There are no cameras outside in parking lot. Our vehicle was broken into at 6:00 pm and everything was taken, some high dollar items. It is right on the freeway entrance so a very easy getaway.

We went here yesterday because of the online reviews and they were spot on! Our drink order was taken before we could even sit ourselves down in the booth and they brought our drinks right away. My daughter and I also giggled the entire meal watching the funny pictures they post on a slide show on the TVs. The food was good, and the service was excellent. We actually left there buying some of their cups and T-shirts too!

Well came here with my husband for date night. It took a while just to be served. After our food came we were never checked on again. We weren’t asked if we wanted refills. My husbands tea glass was empty half the time we were there. He had to drink some of my tea. Our waitress only came to give us our check. Then when we ordered dessert she took the order and left that we weren’t able to ask for anything else. Then when she brought it again she left so fast that we weren’t able to ask her for refills. Then we waited over 15 minutes for her to come take our card so we could leave. We could see her from where we sat. All she did was stand and talk to one of the other waitresses. Another waitress even went and told her that we were waiting but still was another 10 minutes before she came over. Normally there service is very good but today wasn’t so good. We even got there before it was super busy. On the plus side the food was awesome. Super delicious. My husband liked the banana pudding.

Decent diner. Really impressed with their chicken tenders. The breading they make is amazing! Handmade burgers are bigger than your average diner burgers. They give you little pitchers as the single serving of your soda/iced tea. Nothing special of the inside décor, but you’re coming for the food anyway.

Really looked forward to trying this place out. So very disappointed. The chicken fried steak was lackluster and didn’t stand out at all. Fries were under cooked and the cornbread was not very good. The only thing I could recommend on the plate was the cream gravy. My dinner companion chose the grilled chicken alfredo. the sauce was so loaded with cheese it was a sticky, heavy, hot mess instead of a light delicate sauce. The salad was ok, but the ranch was runny. Sadly this was our first and obviously last time.

Been goin here for years… while the food is usually great, tonite’s experience was the worst it’s ever been. The food was average… but the service was horrible. It was just 3 of us and our waitress visibly had no other tables. We got our drinks and had to ask for lemon for our teas and water. Had to get silverware from a neighboring table… Our table only had 2 salads, but she still got the dressing wrong. I had to get up and ask for crackers. When we got our plates, the meatloaf was dry and had one of my sides on the plate. The pork chops were small and she forgot a side for those. My CFS was overcooked and the spinach soufflé was a little more crunchy than a light flaky top. Then we had to ask for bread, which according to the waitress, comes with the meal. My parents got the 2 for $ 20 deal and we had to remind her about the dessert that comes with it. She honestly visited our table more after she dropped off the check than before. Makes us not wanna go back… especially since service has greatly declined over the years. Just sayin…

I LOVE little Mom and Pop restaurants on the side of highways. I love them even more when I learn that they offer fried pickles and fried green tomatoes as appetizers. It doesn’t much more southern than that. So of course, we started with an order of fried pickle spears, two large mugs of iced tea and two kids sprites. It all came out really fast as our waiter, Josh was on his game. The fried pickles were amazing. They were cooked and made fresh and not frozen which made a huge difference. My picky nieces who won’t touch a vegetable to save their lives had two because they were just that good. The ranch dressing was straight from a bottle but added a nice kick to the appetizer. We ended up doing the«2⁄20 $» deal which includes an appetizer and two meals from a special menu. I ordered the catfish filet plate with the loaded red potato. I didn’t particularly like my catfish. It was a little undercooked and was VERY fishy, even with ketchup. The loaded red potato was very good. I prefer red potatoes to yellow and found this exceptional… with a touch of salt. My husband had the«Chicken Alfredo Pasta» and said that although it was good, it really needed to be seasoned as it was almost flavorless. The kids menu was pretty extensive and both kids loved the macaroni and cheese and chicken tenders. No complaints there. With every kids meal, they let the kids pick out a special toy from the glass case which included things like stuffed animals, stickers, coloring books, dolls, and puzzles. It was a nice surprise for the kids who walked away with a clothed teddy bear that was then named«Puddin» and a stuffed penguin. I wish I could 3.5 stars instead of 4 but don’t think they deserve a 3 so I’m rounding up. This is good old fashioned home cooking with good service and is conveniently located off of the highway. With some minor changes(like that catfish and seasoning problem), this could be a real gem. We’ll be back!
