The good, the bad, no ugly… First the good. The service was very attentive and understated. The jalapenos casinos and the seafood stuffed potato special appetizer were both tasty. The live music is outstanding. The bad. The grilled sirloin soft tacos lacked flavor, but were edible(see the following re: filets), but the shrimp fajitas were way too oily and cooked to the point where the oil had a burned flavor. Not appetizing. The petite filet«3 Amigos» were down right bad. One was supposed to be stuffed with crab, and there was none. All three were tough to point that they were frankly not edible. Finally, I had 3 margaritas during dinner, and there wasn’t enough tequila total in the 3 drinks to make 1 good one. I’ve been coming here for ~10 years, and although the wait staff is consistently on point, I have found that recently the food has been hit and miss. This was a miss…

First Timers !! Good Food and Surroundings. We had the Fish Tacos, Enchiladas, Quesadillas and the Pollo and Rice Special. All came out promptly and were flavorful. Sangria was AWESOME. Chips and Homemade Salsa as well. Only three stars because service wasn’t great. We will DEFINITELY be Back !!

I love this place. It’s kind-of hidden away in a strip mall but worth a visit. We often get the margaritas(which are pretty good), the calamari(which is your standard calamari– nothing amazing), as well as the crab quesadilla(which is what I come for– so yummy!). The service has always been great; servers are attentive and prompt. The prices are very reasonable too.

It’s in a strip mall. You may have to move past that to get to the real deal. The food is good. It is authentic and not like Chi Chi’s or those other chain places. It is good Mexican fair at a decent price. Good chips and great salsa. The margarita was good(I’ve had better) and the fajitas were delicious. mthey have the gooey cheese covered things for you, too. Decent service and worth the trip. Move beyond the strip mall and you’ll be pleased!

Some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever eaten. The cheese enchiladas are a must-have. The fish tacos(with glorious chipotle mayo) are no joke. The sangria has always been very refreshing and«just right»(not that I would complain were it a bit stronger).

My family and I have been going to this location since it opened and it never disappoints. The food is great(chicken chimichangas if you want a classic or their fish specials are delicious too!) but what keeps us coming back is the service. Everyone from the bussers to the owner to the hostess are so friendly and remember us. Basically– if you’re in the area, give Cactus a try!(Also try the margaritas~)

This place gets 5 stars for what it is: a solid, reasonably priced family Mexican place by the beach. I’ve been at least 15 times; it is our go-to casual place when we’re staying in Selbyville each summer. It is not gourmet, but it never disappoints, and some of the fresh fish specials have been downright delicious. The crab quesadillas and the soft shell fajitas are also favorites. The pitchers of red or white sangria are refreshing after a day outside. In short: I wouldn’t drive out of your way to get here, but if you’re staying in the area, it is definitely worth a try.

Second year coming here on our beach vacation. A hidden gem. Great sangria, excellent seafood dishes with a Baja flare, and very nice staff. Love the soccer banners on all the walls. Great for kids. They are accommodating in that respect. Rockfish with mushrooms and peppers was outstanding and very fresh.

Love the wild mix of Mexican and Mediterranean options even if I always end up with the seafood chimi. Great servers and live guitar being played by a master. Great art on the walls and just a friendly place to have a casual dinner. Did I mention that my least favorite cuisine is Mexican but I love this place. Stopped in for dinner on Saturday night of cruisin’ weekend and still was able to get 8 seated without any drama. That’s not to say the place wasn’t full, just that’s how on point the kitchen, bar and staff are at Luna’s. Heading down this weekend and will be having at least one meal here. May pick up a mermaid painting, may not, but either way I know I will have a great meal in the care of great people. Oh yeah and soccer, soccer, soccer!

This place is really good. When you walk in, the décor(and especially the appearance of the menu) will make you think you’re in a typical chain-ish Mexican place, but the food is better than that. I haven’t had a bad meal here. I usually get whatever the special is, but we do have some go-to appetizers: the jalapenos casino are great, as are the wings and the seafood potato skin special that they have pretty often. The food trends more Tex-Mex than super-authentic mexican, but I’m not complaining. The staff is extremely friendly, especially the owner/manager(or at least I assume that’s what he is, the guy with the shaved head who is almost always there). They also often have live guitar music too, which is great.

Excellent food again. Many times they’ve prepared dishes that are no longer on the menu, like the best bacon wrapped shrimp in the area. Excellent, friendly service and on weekends they usually have a guitar player. Try the specials, fajitas, and the fire wings appetizer. The«fire» is temperature. The quality doesn’t drop off in the fall when the tourists have gone and it’s rare to wait more than a few minutes for s table.

I have been here many times over the past several years and always go back because it is so good. From the outside(this place is in a little strip mall a couple of miles inland from Fenwick Island proper on Route 54) you would not think much because the Cactus Café is tucked into the middle of the strip mall, but if ever there was a place where the saying«don’t judge a book by its cover» applies, this is it! They have the best seafood enchiladas I have ever had. Everything from start to finish is great and the service is also handled very well. Beats the big chain Mexican restaurants by a country mile! I also like that the manager always recognizes you by face if not by name, and welcomes you back every time. I highly recommend that at least one of your meals when dining out at the beach be at the Cactus Café. The Cactus Café is well worth the short drive inland from Coastal Highway.

My fellow Unilocalers DID disappoint! Based on Unilocal reviews, my family and I tried this place while we were at the beach on vacation. We universally thought that, other than the grilled vegetables, the food was probably the worst we’ve ever had at a tex-mex restaurant, including nicer chains like Uncle Julio’s Rio Grande and Chevy’s, either of which I put miles above this place in terms of food quality, or Chipotle. The chips were plentiful and good(and tasted like they might have been made from scratch), but it all went downhill from there … I decided to splurge and have the prime rib fajitas — terrible — the meat tasted like no prime rib I have had before(at fancy(Morton’s) or lower-cost chain restaurants(Ted’s Montana Grill)) and had a strange and unpleasant aftertaste(maybe frozen?), the tortillas were store bought(or at least tasted like they were) and the beans were luke warm when they arrived at our table, such that the cold cheese placed on top didn’t even melt. The only good part of the dish was the grilled vegetables laid across the meat, which were seasoned and caramelized well and were quite tasty. Similarly, the veggie fajitas were also quite good. Family members had the steak fajitas, the pollo loco(chicken covered in a seafood sauce), a tuna special, quesadillas, chicken fingers(kids menu) and a few other items. We would only order the chicken fingers again. The quesadilla’s were OK, but I expect better at a restaurant, and the steak in the fajitas didn’t taste like it had been grilled, but maybe stewed. The service was good and the staff was very pleasant, and while that is obviously important to the dining experience, it could not overcome the poor food. We will not be returning. I’m giving the restaurant two stars only to reserve the 1 star designation for the truly terrible restaurants I visit(see previous reviews), and this place was better than those.

My fellow Unilocalers did not disappoint… this place was fantastic. A bit of a hole in the wall… we almost missed it. The chips and salsa got to our table at the same time we did and kept coming til we left. The servers were very attentive and efficient. We got taco salad and chicken enchiladas — both were very generous portions. I think my biggest surprise was when the bill came… for two entrees, one reg beverage and one sangria was less than a typical meal at a chain restaurant! No overpriced, subpar beach food here.

From start to finish the entire staff made us feel at home. I have never been more impressed with service anywhere and this says a lot as I am 1) in the business and 2) eat out a lot. The shrimp with butter and cilantro app is amazing and the wings are, too. Fajitas were also really good. They were even kind enough to give us complimentary dessert! Strawberries with crème anglaise were the perfect ending to our meal. New favorite place to eat!

Good sangria, good food with a ton of options. It’s not the most authentic place, but it’s delicious and they have different specials all the time. I got the ahi tuna fajitas, which were a little expensive but a TON of food. The piece of ahi tuna they gave me was the biggest I’ve ever seen, and it was perfectly seared. We took home a lot of leftovers which were just as good the next day. They also have smaller, a la carte options if you’re not ravenous.
