Maryland Mexican food isn’t great. Food in Ocean City isn’t great. And even with those low expectations, this place still disappoints. Way too overpriced, even for a beach town. Crappy chips, bad salsa, margaritas are like something you would pour down the drain at home. Whole place is the definition of «meh». Service was OK, nothing wrong there. But the food they put out is below average. Go elsewhere in Ocean City.

Tequila Mockingbird is fun and nicely decorated but people only go there because it’s a play on words and I will never understand why there is a wait out the door every night for mediocre Mexican food. The rice & beans are absolutely flavorless, but the entrees themselves are okay and I give the chips and salsa 5 stars. It’s a fun bar scene but not my top choice for dinner uptown.

Great place for lunch. Love the chips and salsa-so fresh and made in-house. Friendly and fast service. Recommend trying the black bean soup!

We go to Tequila Mockingbird every time we are in Ocean City(which is at least 3 times a year) We love the food. The tacos are huge and delicious. We usually switch between the chicken, steak and beef. The quesadilla’s are amazing as well. You gotta have a Margarita while you’re there! They have so many options and the salt is always a fun color like pink or brights blue!

I’ve been going here ever since I’ve been going to Ocean City. I dare say that this is my all time favorite Mexican restaurant. The margarita was utterly amazing. It was made with fresh strawberries, and it was very smooth. The nachos were piled so high, and my fiancé and I couldn’t finish them. They were absolutely lovely. They had all of the trimmings. However, when we visit next, we will try to order them with queso if possible. My chimichanga was a work of art. I have zero complaints. The atmosphere, the food, the drinks. It can’t get any better.

I love this restaurant. My hubby and I come here every time we come to O.C. It has become a ritual and every time is as good or better than the last! They’re chips and salsa are great. The salsa is not like the typical salsa you would see, it is full of fresh chunky tomatoes and onions. The menu is full of neat options and they really cater to healthy eating by offering spinach tortillas, in addition to their flour tortillas. They also have wonderful vegetarian options. The wait staff is always so nice and they are very attentive to their customers needs. The food is bursting with flavor and they really keep to the family owned and operated, vibe! This is a must go to place, when your at the O. C!!!

Heard good things about this place and decided to give it a try. Everything was just kinda blah. The steak fajitas had a funny taste like cheap steak. The salsa was bland. But hey at least the margarita was watered down and had barely any alcohol.

This is one of my favorites at the beach. Fabulous margaritas and chips and salsa. The black bean soup is a must. The burritos are large and should be shared by at least two people. Staff are friendly and helpful. Can get loud in the bar area but it’s always a fun place.

We came to Tequila Mockingbird on our last night of vacation based on the recommendations of two friends and we were not disappointed. Happy hour is from 3−6pm, and we arrived around 5, so we each got discounted house margaritas — which I promise were NOT discounted in flavor or alcohol content! I also ordered the Hawaiian Punch margarita which was plenty strong and delicious. By the time that one was gone, autocorrect was not able to help me while texting my sister, so it did its job. We started with an order of guacamole which was good, but we both felt needed salt. I ordered the pick-two enchilada plate — I got a cheese enchilada and a chicken enchilada, and I also ordered a side beef crunchy taco. ALL were delicious. The only thing I wish had been clear was that the chicken enchilada came with verde sauce — I’m not usually a fan of verde sauce, but oh my gosh, this verde sauce was ver-delicious. In fact, I’m glad it wasn’t clear on the menu, because I would have asked for red sauce, and I’m pleased I got to try it without knowing any better. :) My husband ordered the steak tacos and said they were good too! Service was attentive and friendly, and the food was great, and the drinks were strong, so we will definitely be back next time we are in town!

Where do I start? A margarita menu without prices Guacamole that was not«made to order» A snarky bartender that treated us like tourists. I will spend my money next time in Lewes at a much better and friendlier tequila bar Agave. KMA mocking tequila. OC needs better taste buds

Stopping in for lunch, I was determined to have tacos but undecided as to what kind. I decided that the soft shell chicken tacos were a sure bet, and I was right. The chunks of chicken were fresh and delectable, and the addition of green pepper and chipotle sauces made the tacos even better.(A+ to A++?). I can’t pinpoint precisely what it was about the rice here that impressed me so much more than the rice at other Mexican eateries. Not just the preparation, but the seasoning. It was an active participant in the plate, as opposed to being passive and passable. Afterwards I felt like going to the beach and being totally lazy. So that’s what I did.

I’d describe this place as squarely mediocre. First off, it’s a Mexican restaurant, so it’s almost impossible to mess up the food. Mexican food is just delicious in general. However, they managed to make mediocre Mexican food here. We were literally joking that the refried bean taco salad tasted like an ashtray. I didn’t believe it before tasting, but it tasted like Ron Burgundy’s 1970s newsroom. 100% Grade A ashtray. The burrito was alright. I was told portion sizes were LARGE!?! Unfortunately not true. Larger than a Panera Bread but normal compared to other Mexican restaurants. Prices were middle of the road for Ocean City. A burrito doesn’t normally cost $ 13 at a Mexican restaurant. But in Ocean City getting a meal for under $ 15 is impressive. So this is… good…I guess… One thing that really torques me. There are no prices on the drink menu. This should bother you… a lot. The restaurant is trying to screw you based on two key facts: 1. You really want a tasty alcoholic drink. Yum! 2. You don’t want to look like a tightwad in front of your friends, and hence you won’t ask the awkward question of questions. «What are the individual prices of the 23 different drinks on this menu?» So instead you play«high roller», throw caution to the wind, order a drink, then lightly curse under your breathe when the check comes. …Making sure to pay the tab with a straight face, lest your whole table realize you don’t actually enjoy paying $ 7-$ 25 per-drink from your giant pile of gold coins you swim in like Scrooge McDuck. This no-prices-on-the-drink-menu is insulting. The establishment is basically calling their patrons idiots. Real Mexican restaurants list prices on their drink menus. And the prices are usually awesome. And the drinks usually get you super-Mexican-restaurant-drunk. It’s a whole new kind of fun, and one that can’t be found at this restaurant.

Extremely impressed. Great Mexican food, killer salsa, and legit golden margaritas. Most restaurants in resort towns serve slop and just don’t care because they’ve got a captive audience and nothing will affect their bottom line. This place is the exception. Don’t be deceived by the fact that it is in a strip mall, the food is terrific. We came here with a party of eight and every single person came away crowing about their food. I had the Atlantic Burrito(shrimp and crab meat) and loved it; my wife had the enchiladas and was equally impressed. Bottom line, this is one of the best places I have eaten in Ocean City. If you’re fed up with the fake ‘Seafood’ restaurants around here, try Tequila Mockingbird, it’s legit. My only advice is to call ahead for reservations because it apparently gets slammed. There was a line out front on a Sunday of all days, and had we not had reservations, we would have had to wait over an hour. It’s popular, call ahead.

Not the best place to go in eat in Ocean City, but if you want Mexican – you can’t go wrong in going here. They’re normally slammed daily past 6:00PM, so either come early or come later(8:30−9:00PM). Not the best chicken – is pretty dry. Overall an slightly above average mexican restaurant.

We decided to try Tequila Mockingbird in Ocean City because a friend recommended it. The restaurant is located in a strip mall, but don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you– TM features the best Mexican food in Ocean City. The interior is very festive and the booths are huge and very comfortable, and we were seated immediately, despite arriving at 5:30 on a Friday night. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful and provided us with extra bowls of chips because we were first-time customers. The menu was well organized and had very clever headings that referenced famous books and movies. There was also a wide selection of margaritas and signature drinks. We sampled a plate of nachos and it was one of the tastiest versions I’ve ever tried. I especially enjoyed the seasoned beef and the freshly prepared salsa(it was similar to pico de gallo). For my main course, I ordered the Southwestern burrito. Other family members tried the fish tacos and the beef chimichanga. All of our meals arrived quickly, and the ingredients tasted fresh. The portion sizes were also very generous. Our waiter checked on us more than once, and the owner greeted us on our way out the door. TM had very friendly staff and delicious food, and we will definitely be visiting again in the near future.

Braised short ribs nachos… AWESOME! My husband ordered the seafood enchilada and said it was amazing. My son ordered the biggie piggie and said it was great. I can’t remember the name of mine but it was chicken, shrimp and mushrooms over cilantro lime rice… delicious! Chase was our waiter and was so friendly and accommodating with my silly boys!

Delicious margaritas! Good for groups. Located in North Ocean City. I’ve been here twice, with a bachelorette party both times. It’s pretty good. There’s usually a wait — even if you have a reservation you might wait, so make one. Chips and salsa are good. Margaritas are on point. I had spinach and black bean enchiladas, but there really wasn’t nearly enough spinach in them. Several other girls got taco salads in the huge shells. The fish tacos looked pretty tasty as well.

Great Mexican find in oc Reasonably priced cocktails at the bar as you can expect a wait for a table I had the blackened chicken fajitas which were excellent. The peppers and onions were cooked perfectly The other folks in my party enjoyed their dishes, beef fajita and seafood enchiladas. One thing that kept this from 5 stars They charge you for rice and refried beans with the fajitas At $ 17 I don’t think it’s necessary to upcharge for rice and refried beans… service was excellent

An OC favorite, we had to visit even while staying in Bethany Beach. Everything here is delish as always. The salsa is fresh with a kick. The guac is just as fresh but you may wish to kick it up by mixing some of the salsa in it. Queso is thick. No runny, weak stuff here. I had the spicy beef hard tacos with rice and beans and a side of their Diablo sauce. The spicy beef was juicy but drained. Sprinkling the Diablo sauce atop the lettuce and cheese completes a heat that’s a slow burn. Enjoy! Others had the steak taco and Big Juan. Both were delightful but either be hungry or ready for left overs. Make this one a regular stop!

One of my favorite OC places. Things I love: their fresh salsa and chips(only first round is complimentary), the sunrise margartia, their mango habanero dressing, the queso, basically everything Things I hate: the typical 45 minute+ wait time to be seated
