I’ve always had a fairly pleasant experience with this GameStop, and today was exemplary. :) There is a FANTASTIC console deal currently going on at GameStop, and I had ordered one of the bundles online. It arrived within 2 days without any expedited shipping and was packed very securely. I was already pretty impressed by this as I had a HORRIBLE experience with similar details with HP recently. When I opened it up to check everything out, there were a couple things I felt could be improved upon(different game case, etc). I called this location to see what I would need to do to make any exchanges I needed, and they were very knowledgeable and friendly. They told me I just needed to bring in my receipt and the items. So I went into the store tonight to exchange a few of items and they made it super easy! They let me choose a controller which I preferred, actually«upgrading» the one I had gotten from a newer model with a standard design to a rarer one which was a game promo item. They were also happy to switch out the console from the premium original model I had received to one which had the HDMI port. They also happily switched out my cases or disks as I desired-over all they made the process so quick and easy and friendly… I will definitely be ordering from them again and buying in store! Great prices and great service-can’t ask for more :)

I went in tonight and was SO disappointed with the customer service. I went in on a Wednesday night about 8:30 pm so it was not super crowded. This store is NOTHING like my store back home and I am left utterly disappointed. My guy’s birthday is tomorrow and I thought that I’d throw in a video game because he doesn’t play them that often — and its a real treat for him to get a new game. Anyhoo. I’m not a gamer myself and I try to keep on top of games that he might be interested in – but if they don’t coincide with a special event, in the past, I’ve been able to go into a Game Stop and get recommendations of other things that he might be into based on other games that I’ve seen him play or bought him. I tried to get some recommendations tonight and the guy was totally not interested in helping me — and I wasn’t in a hurry, and totally willing to wait to get a few titles. As he shuffled and did other things he recommended a game for a console that I don’t have — and then recommended something that comes out sometime in November. Seriously??? There is a whole store of games and you KNOW that those guys play video games all the time — he couldn’t throw out a couple of titles that I might want to get my guy? I’m standing there willing to spend $ 80 bucks or more on video games and I walked out of the store empty handed. And as if that wasn’t disappointing enough — after the poor customer service — I had to ruin the surprise of a game for my guy when I had to call him for more information — thanks for guys for helping to ruin one of my birthday surprises! I’m hoping to find a Game store around here that is more like the Game Stops that they had back home — where they were happy to take a couple of minutes to help surprise a girls boyfriend and exchange their games for my money.

The entire place reeked of something rotting — I couldn’t tell if it was from the AC or the carpet or behind the desk. The smell was everywhere. And that’s just the tip of the filth iceberg. Everything was covered in a layer of grime. Nothing had been dusted, fronted or wiped down in quite some time. I had to get one power cord, the annoying sales lady refused to ring me up until she had convinced me to sign up for their idiotic identity theft«saver card». After five minutes of telling her no, she gave up and allowed me to buy the cord. Expectations are low, but dear lord this place is the armpit of hell.
