I have watched the Gould change over the years even to the short-lived Hotel Clarence. All I can say is welcome back Hotel Gould. The events manager helped us plan a small surprise party for my husband. It was amazing. Staff was so great as was the food. It will become one of our new favorites. And it is soooo attractively decorated now. It is part of the Seneca Falls history and I am so happy to see that it back. Thank you Maggie, event coordinator/sales and Rebecca, our server. Great job!

We went here for our low-key wedding dinner, and we were happy to do so. The Gould is the standard of excellence in Seneca Falls.

I have stayed at The Gould at least 4 times. Amazing rooms that are very spacious, very comfortable beds, very high ceilings, and awesome bathrooms! Also the lunch and dinner food is delicious! The staff is always very accommodating. The only downfall is the low quality continental breakfast which consisted of breakfast bars and prepackaged cereals. With such a great menu during the dining hours one would think the breakfast would also be outstanding. Besides the continental breakfast I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I will definitely be staying there in the future.

We were looking for a nice, quiet place for a good meal in Seneca and looked on Unilocal. The Gould was close so we went. Great decision! We ate in the bar and shared a wonderful penne pasta with sausage, chicken and peppers, and just the right amount of spice. A perfect choice!

The first time I ate at The Gould our waitress was spectacular and the food was delicious. Have been back on two separate occasions for take-out and it was thoroughly a disappointment. We were flat out ignored by the wait staff up one our arrival and were treated with a dismissive attitude when we did get the staff’s attention. When we got our food it was completely cold and vaguely better than mediocre. I’m not sure why there is such a stark difference between eat-in and take-out, but I will most likely not be getting take-out from The Gould again.

The hotel where we were staying recommended another restaurant on the same road While driving there with the windows down we smelled the food from the Gould. Both me and my husband looked at each other and said we are going there instead. My husband pulled a U-turn and we parked in the first stop we found. This change of plans was not a disappointment and it was an amazing end to our Honeymoon. We both ordered the salad special and the BBQ combo platter both of which excellent. The salad included butternut squash and other fall additions, so yummy. The BBQ combo platters were huge neither of us could finish them. The coleslaw was delicious and I usually don’t care much for it. My husband loved the ribs and couldn’t get over how the bark of the ribs came out. The waitress Meagan, was so nice and helpful. She explained that the smell was probably from the smoker they have on location. We told her dinner there was a perfect way to end our Honeymoon. A little bit later the manager came out with a complimentary dessert since he heard we were on our Honeymoon. The dessert was a pastry with local plums and bleu cheese rolled chocolate Truffles. All delicious and it really made us feel special. The next time we are in Seneca Falls we are definitely coming back.

Pretty good. Not great but pretty good. Had the local cheese plate and it was delicious! A very generous portion too. Also shared the scallop appetizer and it was perfectly cooked. Entrees was a near miss – bbq with mac and cheese. Not enough smoke on the bbq and didn’t care for the sauce either. Tiramisu was dry as dirt. Decent beers and the server was cheerful. Overall like I said just pretty good.

Food was very good. Clams with sausage appetizer was great. I had brisket dinner. Huge portions. My brisket was extra fatty but good. Service was cheerful but slow. Very clean.

I came here on Saturday night with 4 other people for dinner. The atmosphere is nice. It wasn’t too loud and was very clean. I ordered the BBQ ½ chicken and it was very good! It was so moist, which I was surprised by and I usually expect it to be dry. The BBQ sauce was a bit spicy, but not too bad. The dinner came with mac and cheese, beans, and jalapeño corn bread. I ate all of the mac and cheese and it was delicious. The beans were too, which I thought they would be just the regular beans from a can. They were great. My friend ate the corn bread and she loved it. She made everyone at the table have a bite. 2 people ordered the Riesling chicken. I had a bite and it was delicious! Next time I come, I am definitely getting that! They all also ordered the French onion soup and said it was great. The only downside was our waiter seemed to be the only one working and seemed overwhelmed. It took a long time for the food to come out and we had to ask a few times for our water to be refilled. We understood that he seemed busy and anxious. I definitely want to come back!

Had 4 appetizers for dinner-great choices! Two people shared scallops, fried calamari, cheese & fruit platter and chicken wings. The scallops were large, juicy and done perfectly with an olive tapenade. The calamari were delicious with just a squeeze of lime juice. Very nice cheese platter– the blue was especially tasty. The wings could have been crispier but the medium buffalo sauce was plenty hot. Excellent service, too. We sat on the patio on a beautiful evening-perfect end to the day!

We live in Seneca Falls and have been coming here for years. They have changed their menu and we really enjoyed dinner there. We sat at a table top and enjoyed the view of Fall St. and the canal. Service was by the bartender and it was great. One dinner was a special(which should be made a menu item) Polenta with shrimp and Avocado, fantastic!!! We started with the calamari and the cilantro touch was very refreshing. The second meal was the vegetable Napoleon. This was also very good. If your in town, looking for something tasty with a romantic atmosphere, this is your place.

This is my third time to come to this place. Tonight was just a disappointment. Our server was alright but could do better. Appetizer was great. We had the clams and Italian sausage. It’s sweet and salty in taste. Reminds me of mussels josephine minus the sausage. The buffalo wings I had was not that great. I lost my appetite when I tasted it maybe the sauce was the culprit. Server was alright but I know he can do better.

With family in town we went back to have dinner at the Gould. I am so glad we gave it another try for dinner. We shared a few apps and went straight to entrees. Everyone was happy. My steak was delicious. Service was good, the place was packed and we left happy.

Came here on a recommendation from our hotel to celebrate my father’s birthday and it was such a disappointment! The restaurant was freezing… we didn’t even want to take our coats off. We waited forever for our apps to arrive. Only half of the tables’ entrees came out, leaving the rest of us to wait. When the other meals came out(seafood linguini) they had changed the type of pasta without notifying us and there were cracked mussel shells right on top of the sauce. To make matters worse the meal wasn’t even warm when they brought it out. AND the pasta was extremely overcooked. For the type of service and price, not worth it. The manager comped us the 2 pasta dishes and gave us a $ 75 certificate to use on the bill which was nice of them, but we would have been better off going somewhere else. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough. My family and I regret picking this place for dinner.

The entrees we tried were decent to good, with the onion soup being quite good. Deserts were nothing to write home about. The only wine we had was ok… Over-priced for what it was, but it is in a hotel… The bartender was very friendly and helpful!

We went to the Gould twice during our visit to Seneca Falls. The first experience was quite nice. We sat at the bar and got great service. I had the French onion soup and seafood Provençal. Very tasty. We went back on Sunday night and I got the same to items. The soup was still very good but the main dish was not as good and my wife’s Cesar Salad had no dressing. I have a good idea that it was not the«A» team in the kitchen. Plus there was no manger on duty so the wine was locked up and we could not get a bottle of anything decent. My advice to the Gould is if you are going to be open, BE open.

This is the restaurant attached to the Gould Hotel. As we’d arrived later than planned, we opted just to eat in instead of trying to find somewhere else. It was Wednesday, so the place wasn’t exactly busy, in fact there was only one other table occupied when we arrived. Needless to say, this practically guaranteed good service from the start and our server Teresa was perky and friendly, making us immediately feel welcome as she explained the specials menu and recommended a local wine for us to try. I can’t actually remember what it was called now, but it proved extremely quaffable! I thought the menu was pretty good for this place, and we both ordered the tuna steak. Sadly, Teresa returned to inform us that they didn’t have any tuna this day, and seemed genuinely embarrassed and apologetic that she hadn’t known that at the start. No matter, the other fish option was salmon so we both went for that instead. The fish was lovely, cooked just right and served with some carrots and cauliflower. I don’t know how the cauliflower had been prepared, but it looked like it may have been grilled. I quite liked it, but Herself wasn’t so keen on it — but then she is quite particular about her brassicae… But overall it was a lovely meal, reasonably priced, and just what we were after following a long day’s drive.

Once I walked in, Jackie took care of me! She even called my room to make sure I was still alive(I had a long sleepless nught of traveling the night before). I will definitely visit again. Thanks so much for making my trip so comfortable. 10 stars!

I am pleased to be able to write a good review about the restaurant, since I did NOT enjoy my stay at the hotel. The ambiance of this place is, admittedly, not my favorite. The space lacks windows or skylights to properly give the loft-like impression they are going for. I think the division between the restaurant and the hotel lobby is adequate, and I didn’t mind being cut off from the rather noisy bar. However, the space just feels unfinished. I don’t know what to suggest to them, but it definitely felt incomplete. That said, that is pretty much the only negative. The overabundant staff was friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. I wish the wines by the glass had offered more local selections, most were only available by the bottle, but the global selections were inclusive enough, I enjoyed a very nice Argentinian red that was suggested by our server. We had a $ 50 credit to the restaurant as part of the getaway package we had purchased. The total meal came to about $ 75, which was very reasonable for a meal you would pay between 100 – 125 for in NYC or even northern NJ. We had a late dinner on a Saturday night, with the space a little over half full. We noticed none of the problems with entrée options being unavailable. We started with the Clarence Calamari, which was excellent, and the Sesame Crusted Yellowfin Tuna, which was good and very fresh, but not amazing. For pre-dinner drinks I had the St. Germain Royal, which was not my favorite, however it was a departure for me, so I am not sure if it just wasn’t my thing. My fiancé enjoyed his Vesper Martini. My fiancé had the pork loin, which he said was very good. I am not a pork fan, but the taste I had of his was moist and flavorful. I had the lamb which was wonderful. I don’t usually order lamb, but I was influenced by the previous poster, and I am so glad I did, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Along with our meals, the salads were uninspired but fine, though I really don’t understand paying more for cheese crumbles, but whatever. The bread did not taste homemade, but was good nevertheless. My roast red potatoes and veggies were amazing. I never thought I would like a brussel sprout, and the thin slices of fennel infused the veggies with a warm spiciness that was simple and refreshing. I enjoyed them so much I have tried several times to duplicate the seemingly simple dish at home. My fiancé liked his apple-pear compote,(not my thing) and we both thought his mashed potatoes were quite good. For desert have the Chardonnay Ice. We had to get a bottle after tasting it here.
