The outside is a little underwhelming, but don’t let that stop you from trying out Abigail’s(the inside décor is a little old fashioned as well and the chairs aren’t too comfy, but still, stick around and try the food). My husband and I were staying at the hotel next door during our Seneca Lake wine trail vacation and after a long day of wine tasting and driving we were too tired to drive anywhere so we walked next door. The wings are amazing. They are known for their wings and the sauce flavor is delightful. Plus, for $ 10 you get a dozen large wings. You can’t go wrong for that price. There is a soup and salad bar with entrees and it is a pretty extensive collection of items to choose from. You could probably just do that for a meal and be pretty happy. Random item that rocks: the rolls — they are big, fluffy, and tasty. I got the scallops provencal and they were slightly overcooked. Not ruined, but if they had been cooked just slightly less they would have been perfect. My husband got the prime rib and it was an enormous portion. We’re rare beef eaters and he got a lovely rare piece. He gave me a taste and it was tender and delicious. The meal portions are very large and the prices are extremely reasonable. The staff is really friendly and attentive. We will definitely stop back next time we are in the area.

I’ve been treated to some really special ambiance in alot of places — like glass booths that change color at Morimoto’s, blazing fires, fancy fountains… right up there with these experiences is the comforting mood and feeling created by the friendly faces and generous food at Abigail’s. The building and chairs have stayed comfortable over time, and the staff is so well installed and beloved they have bio’s on their website. Read those before you arrive & you will be treated to their personalities even more when you walk through the door. Our incredible wings were made by none other than the Wing King himself; the owner greeted us; and recognizable faces circulate the room, refilling the salad bar and fulfilling every wish. We had fresh innovative food(salmon with spicy Asian slaw, housemade stuffed haddock) and loved the salad bar, brimming with homemade salads and fresh ingredients for make your own. You will not find glitz or fanfare at Abigail’s but you will get a real neighborhood feel and be welcomed as one of the locals even if you are not. Many options for kids and vegetarians. Old favorites and interesting new items are side by side on their extensive menu. SO glad my friend referred me here! Stop by Sauder’s store while you are in the area, not to be missed.

Went here to experience award-winning wings. The atmosphere was, at the same time, sports bar, casual, and upscale casual, however the facility itself was somewhat depressing from the outside to the indoor décor. My family left perplexed by Abigail’s. The wings were really nothing special but the sauce was exceptional. We left with an over-priced bottle to enjoy with our favorite family recipe for wings. Sell the sauce @ Wegmans for maximum profit.

We are here again recently. The food was good 3.5 stars I would say. My wife really liked hers, she had fillet and lobster tail. And I had strip steak, which was a little over cooked, but very flavorful! I kinda miss the salad bar(which they stopped doing) but dinner came with soup and salad. Although I didn’t like the ranch dressing very much. The service was top notch !! 5 stars !!

We have been frequent customers for several years. Our recent visit was not what we expected. The great salad bar is now absent during the week. The cup of soup and side salad are no comparison to the salad bar. The prices remain the same. The service was also slow probably because the waitress had to serve bread, salads and soup instead of the customers getting it from the salad bar. Sadly, we will not return.

First time to this restaurant. The staff was nice… our waitress was new. The atmosphere was disappointing, when you see the outside you expect an elevated experience inside, which was not the case. Our meals were disappointing as well. The garlic and oil pasta dishes were oil and we needed to add salt to the dinners for flavor. The wine was good and dessert was just ok. I would love to come back but unfortunately on my next trip I’ll be going elsewhere. Side note– I’m not a foody and just appreciate good food, especially when I have to travel for business.

After a long day on the Cayuga wine trail we stopped here for dinner since we knew about it from the chicken wing documentary and WSJ article. We would not have stopped otherwise since it’s unassuming looks alone would not have drawn us in — we debated if it used to be a bank or a funeral home(the correct answer is that is has always been a restaurant, built in the 60’s). The server, who may have been the owner/manager, was super friendly and a great host. We ordered the wings both medium and hot and were surprised when the orders actually came with 12 wings each, like the old days, and not the now standard 10. The sauce as promised really was creamy and blue-cheesy with good spice even on the medium. They were good and we would rate this place a 4 based on the wings. We should have stopped there because the rest of the meal was just ok at best. The burger while nicely loaded with bacon but was way overcooked from the requested medium rare, the fish fry and the fried shrimp were just ok(but we did like the old-school salad bar but where was the Jello?). Come for the wings served in a place that is a throw back to the supper clubs of yore.

The wings were amazing!!! That’s why it got four stars!!! However the décor and the feel of the place was very dated… the deli bar was kind of sad too… but we had a good experience with very pleasant waitresses…

First visit: the food is overpriced for the quality/quantity. The rolls from the salad bar were dry. The salad bar selection is pretty small. The ambiance is okay – nothing special. The service was fine, but again, nothing special. The waitress didn’t offer to refill my drink, for example. It took a long time to get our food. The restaurant also automatically figures in an 18% gratuity, perhaps because we were in a large group, but it’s distasteful nonetheless.

Last weekend my family and I decided to go back to Abigail’s ! The food was amazing and the staff were even better! We have a 2 year old that is very hard to handle and that day was a very difficult one. As soon as we stepped foot in the restaurant he starts screaming. We figured when he was eating things would be better for him. BOYWEREWEWRONG. He continued to scream the only difference was this time he had food to throw. The owner of the restaurant came up and talked to us, making us feel better about our situation. The waitress even showed pictures of her children. They really helped make us feel better in a very embarrassing situation. I can’t say the same for some of the older customers and the nasty looks they shot at us. I felt like saying«no I can’t control my 2 year old but your more than welcome to try». Instead I apologized and smiled. I just want to thank the staff and management for making our experience a little less embarrassing. And I’m VERYVERY sorry for the mess.

While I only rated at 3 stars I would still recommend Abigail’s Restaurant after spend a week in the area. While some of the other places in a 20 – 30 minute range might have better food few if any offered good food with good service at reasonable prices. Abigail’s was a nice dinner after a lot of disappointment. I wish we had stumbled in earlier in the week. The décor was a touch dated but the service was very good. We didn’t try the wings that folks have raved about but my burger was good and my girlfriend enjoyed her pasta. The portions were also generous. Abigail’s was the solution to our nightly struggle to find a good meal in the local area.

My boyfriend and I went to Abigail ’ s while vacationing in the Finger Lakes. Overall a pleasant experience. The food we had was fair to good.(The pasta dish I order was good and hit the spot. The burger was little overcooked but still enjoyable.) Although the kitchen was slow for a burger and pasta it was easy to overlook because our waiter was very attentive.(We’d had some abismal service at some other establishments in the area so this was a very welcome change of pace.) The complimentary salad bar with the very reasonably priced pasta dish was nice. In a nutshell I’d recommend Abigail ’ s if you in the area. It also very convenient to the Microhotel if you’re staying there.

Only three stars? If you happen to be involved with some sort of underground Unilocal-rating stock exchange, Abigails is undervalued and merits a «strong buy» rating. Another surprising facet of Abigails is the appearance. It looks too much like a «nice restaurant» to be a hotspot for Buffalo wings. I’m sure if I was a local I’d become acquainted with the low-priced salad bar, but this was a wings-only visit. When they asked if I wanted mild, medium or hot, I almost gave the wrong answer, but this isn’t a Thai restaurant in Woodside, so hot means«hot,» not«you’ll be crying in three seconds.» Best wings ever? This is a reasonable guess. You may want to place an asterisk there. It isn’t a pure example of the buffalo wing paradigm. It’s creamier and seems a step closer to some kind of hot barbecue sauce. Perhaps only 73% of the ingredients overlap with normal Buffalo wing sauce. Back to the spice factor — the first bite doesn’t make you cough but after 15 minutes you’ll have a buzz. Another plus at Abigails is perfect iced tea.

So this review is for the wings only– of course I came here after viewing the documentary on best wings in the world! Well best in the world wings is a very high bar and that’s tough to assess. That said, the wings, specifically the medium, were very good. Beware these are heavy wings– the sauce is very creamy but tasty. You can taste the blue cheese embedded in the sauce and some other items which adds to the experience. The spices are very good and its likely different from what you’ve experienced at other wing joints. Apparently they have some other sauce variations available and they offer a sampler special. The décor is pretty cool and the service is excellent. Its got an old school log cabin type of feel. Chill bar area.

The Food Frozen, frozen, frozen! Need I say more? The appetizers are frozen. The salad bar was standard. The hot bar with soup were standard frozen commercial food. Meatballs were like from Sam’s Club. Tiny and tasteless. I asked for med/rare prime rib. It cam out medium. My wife’s stuffed haddock was not fresh fish. It was frozen fish. The Service We made reservations and were offered a table near the fireplace. When we arrived we checked in and told the hostess we wanted to get a drink at the bar. She came over in less then 5 minutes to tell us our table was given away. We were not offered anything in comp. our server said she didn’t have her glasses on. That was the reason our table was given away Conclusion If you love frozen food cooked instead of fresh food this is your place!!! If you want good fresh dining then this is NOT the place to go. The owners need Robert Irving and Restaurant impossible to overhaul the menu, waitstaff and cooks. Then provide fresh menu items as well as update the décor. PS — The carpets are disgusting!!! We will never come back here again!

My boyfriend and I were vacationing in the Finger Lakes and had a late night hankering for cake and ice cream. The only place that Unilocal said was open was Abigail’s and I am so glad we went! I ordered the salad bar and Abby’s brownie sundae. The salad bar was not gigantic on raw veggies but they had a variety of different salads and soup was included! The brownie sundae could have used more brownie but there was a plethora of hot fudge and the ice cream to fudge ratio was perfection! My boyfriend ordered the Margherita Pizza and the key lime cheesecake, made in house. He was pleased with both, and he was very nervous about the cheesecake since he had never had it before. He practically licked the plate clean. I definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling and looking for a townie atmosphere and delicious desserts!

I’m quite disappointed in my Unilocaler friends for bashing on this place. This place deserve better than 2.5 stars. I would say it’s worth 3.5 stars, based on my experience. Sure, the place looks dated, but they do deliver. I went here for dinner with our friend John, from Izzo’s White Barn Winery. We ordered the Veal Caprise and we were impressed by the flavor and texture of the dish. It’s probably not the best Veal I’ve ever had, but it’s still a good dinner. The portiion is nice with a side of pasta and the salad bar is included with the meal. Come here for good value dinner. In this economy, we need more places like this who delivers great service, great food, and all for a great price.

When trying to find a nice place for dinner after visiting the Finger Lakes for a weekend last year, I stumbled upon this restaurant which was close to my hotel. When I walked in, I didn’t expect much based on the décor. But after being promptly seated, and then greeted by our very friendly and attentive server, all doubts went away. They have a great hot and cold salad bar with a soup of the day and homemade meatballs, which were quite tasty. The entrees are largely portioned at a great price, and the food is very homey and delicious. They also serve wine from some of the surrounding wineries, so once you find a favorite after sampling all day, you can order a glass of it to go with your dinner. Their homemade key lime cheesecake was the icing on the cake. We even took a slice to share at the hotel. It’s not the Ritz. But if you want a great meal at a great price, all with great service, definitely go here.

We made the trip out to Abigail’s for lunch after reading about the alleged«best chicken wings in NYS»(according to «The Great Chicken Wing Hunt» documentary) on our way to some finger lakes wine tasting. I have to say… «best wings» is a lot to live up to, and probably clouded my perspective a little on them. Don’t get me wrong — they were good. But they were not the best wings I’ve ever had. The sauce is actually really, really tasty — but the wings themselves were a little gamey and the blue cheese was sub-par. Not bad wings at all, but I was very capable of stopping at 3. As for the rest of the menu, in our party we had a chipotle turkey panini, a chicken cranberry salad, and a mini pizza. The panini had«good flavors but too much mayo and not nearly enough meat.» My salad had really good flavors and was a super generous portion… too much for lunch really. The pizza eater was happy enough, too. My dad was delighted to find that they had birch beer… a classic beverage for what is clearly a classic type of restaurant. My overall feel on the place was that it could really use a restaurant makeover: the carpets were dirty(as were the chairs) and everything was pretty dated inside(including glasses that very clearly used to have gold rims… but now just have weird speckled rims making you think you’re ingesting a tiny bit of paint with each sip!). But the prices were really reasonable and the food, at least at our table, was all very fresh… so dumping money into new furnishings and less wallpaper is probably not their financial priority right now. All in all, not a bad experience. The service was also good… a little slow at times but we weren’t really in any hurry. There’s a nice view from the dining room and we got to watch a few boats go by. I would stop by again if I were in town to try something that they may specialize in(instead of just lunch sandwiches and salads).
