I’ll start with the good: The view is extremely beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful. However, the outdoor deck is under a bunch of trees and only some of the tables have umbrellas over them. If you don’t have an umbrella, little bits of tree keep falling in your food. The food is overpriced. I got a salmon dish and not only was the salmon overcooked, but also the sauce had a burnt taste to it. It really was not worth it. Also, they have next to no parking at the restaurant and the lot that does have parking requires you to cross train tracks to get to the restaurant.

A hidden gem of the finger lakes. Waterfront view, caring owners, great staff and amazing food. If you haven’t been here you are missing out.

Was turned away ten mins before close because we didn’t have reservations when they had plenty of seats available. They admitted that they still had a cpl of reservations coming but we’re not accepting anymore tables. Too bad because they turned away loyal customers and now I don’t think I’ll ever return there esp after the guys facial expression throughout the whole conversation. Rude. I work at a successful restaurant and I know that it’s not good to turn any customer away regardless of the time as long as they are still operating the kitchen.

Been coming here for years, off and on. Always get a different experience so we always try to go on Sundays when the blond bartender, Mary or Mary Jo is working. She’s funny, amusing, and no matter how slammed she is, she never overlooks her customers. We know we’ll get great service if we sit at the bar when she’s working. We’ve seen the chef, I think his name Mark(?) come out and sit at the bar with his clipboard, bark orders on the phone and degrade his coworkers while downing his drinks. I really want to come back this year but don’t want my food made by a drunk chef. The owners are nice and trying to make it a great place but they should clean house if they want repeat business.

New to Unilocal but had to review this place and forwarn you not to come here if you are not a regular. My girlfriend and I went here two summers ago and while there was a seat near the water for dinner service where we sat and received menus we were moved to the upper deck with no explanation. We were sat at a dirty table with an old water cup and weren’t seen again for About twenty minutes, no menus no drinks no acknowledgment. Finally a server arrived and didn’t even clean the table… I had to hand her the cup… So we order drinks and my girlfriend ‘s beer is skunky and she has to ask to return it and orders a bottle beer with hopes that this would not be contaminated. We order our dinner she gets a panko crusted fish with about a inch of cakey crust and cold flavorless asparagus. I get the ribs which are bland and also cold asparagus with an overall very poor meal, neither of us ate more than one bite and after the terrible service terrible drinks and food we chose to not eat and just wanted our bill and to get out of here. We ask to speak to the manager to discuss what had happened and he is also rude. We end up getting 10% discount after not eating any of our food and paying around $ 50 !!! It is truly the worst dining experience I’ve had and to be discrimately treated this way while others seemed ok makes me question whether there were underlying racial reasons for this treatment as we are a bi racial couple. I’ve dined a lot and wouldn’t say this if I truly felt this way. Also this was two years ago and I remember every detail and it still eerks me to this day. Hopefully there is New management at this point as I wouldn’t recommend spending your time or money here.

Had a nice late afternoon lunch. Enjoyed the Reuben — though it wasn’t anything special. My wife loved the chicken salad wrap, the daily lunch special. Can’t beat the location on the deck on a warm late September day.

only way to describe this place is meh. The menu really doesn’t offer that much and it’s overpriced for what it does. We started with the fries which came out cold, I got the wasabi salmon salad and my girlfriend got the burger, both were woefully under seasoned. The service was ok but a bit on the slow side. The real problem though is the bugs!!! The screens which are supposed to keep them out have massive holes in them, we were eaten alive during our meal, if you are going to come here don’t come at dusk.

Here are the positives: –Incredible view(we went 7:30 on a Monday so there was no crowd, got a table right on the water) –Nice and quick service Negatives: –Incredibly overpriced for what it is. –Very bland and non appetizing food I would recommend getting a drink and app to enjoy the view but don’t bother with a full meal.

Over an hour and still waiting, really? Watching people at other tables receiving their food. We didn’t order anything special. Once the food arrived, it was very good. The waitress had to keep apologizing for the wait, obviously not her fault.

Made a reservation, requested a table by the water, instead got a table by the parking lot.

Nothing special. Had a nice burnt Reuben sandwich but what do you expect from a low end establishment. I’d give it a two stars but the makers mark bourbon with the added big wasn’t so tasty. Yuch!

Nice variety of local wine and beer. The owner treats the staff like crap, but they overcome the bullying to give diners a great experience. Great food with many specials from which to choose. Mediocre coffee, didn’t try dessert. Wonderful outdoor deck overlooking the water!

We had lunch here while vacationing in the Finger Lakes. The location and settings is fantastic, right on the water with excellent outdoor seating if the weather is nice. The service was good — no complaints at all here. The food was generally well prepared although there were a few items that were great and some that were more average. They accommodated a table of 9 with a call ahead for lunch with no issues and seated us immediately. The Asian salad with seared tuna is 5 stars. Perfectly cooked seared tuna with a healthy portion of greens that were well dressed with a great asian style dressing. My wife and I both had this and we raved about it to everyone. One son had the buffalo chicken salad and he enjoyed it thoroughly and would order it again. Another son had the buffalo chicken pizza(may have been a daily special) and it was very good, although he was not a huge fan of all the blue cheese(I shared some and thought it was an appropriate amount he just wasn’t clear this would be on the pizza). My oldest son had a shrimp basket, which he liked but felt the portion(5 shrimp) was a little light. It could have been more generous with the shrimp but it was not egregious. My little guy had chicken tenders and fries and we got a side of buffalo sauce and he was a happy camper. My mother in law ordered a crab cake, and she had anticipated that this was a platter and would have had a side of something(chips, fries, something) and instead received only a single cake. We are from the Mid-Atlantic so crab cakes are pretty ingrained and this one had a high filler to crab ratio which is never a good thing. Pass on the crab cake is my suggestion. My father in law had a buffalo chicken wrap which is normally not his kind of thing and to him it was«ok». Not sure if this had more to do with the flavor or if the taste is not his kind of thing. All in all it was a nice lunch although the food was not 100% consistently good. I would recommend it to friends but Unilocalers but I would tell them that there are some home runs and some strikeouts. I would say overall a terrific lunch spot on the way to tasting wine in the Finger Lakes

Location is great! View is ok Food is just ok nothing to ‘crow’ about Service was prompt. There was one mistake(sweet potato fries) that was corrected when we pointed it out. Menu is not remarkable. Not sure I would make a point to come back.

Feel obligated to review this because it has such a great reputation amongst locals and is often suggested.(Maybe this set the bar too high for me but…) First of all, beautiful view of the canal. Nice outdoor deck. Tons of parking in their own lot(it requires walking over –I hope– abandoned railroad tracks and gravel). Service was rushed, hectic, curt, not very helpful — but my no means rude or mean(I hardly would call it service). Food was just… I don’t know… it was edible but I’ll do some translation for you: Marinara=canned tomato sauce Spinach-artichoke dip=Mayo Rice=rice-a-roni Anything on the menu=deep fried Mosquitoes and bees everywhere. There are so many wonderful places to visit in this area-don’t listen to the hype and skip this place.

My Mom suggested we come here for lunch and it was an excellent choice. We sat outside on the patio, but they also have a screened in patio as well or if you prefer the air conditioning, go inside. The staff is very friendly — greeting us promptly as we walked up on the deck. I ordered a dozen little neck clams and coleslaw. The clams were steamed perfectly and served hot. The coleslaw was delicious. I also had some sweet potato fries and they were fresh and flavorful — I’m certain they are homemade. The service was excellent. The owner came over to speak with us after our meal and made sure everything was satisfactory. Next time I am in the Finger Lakes area, I’ll keep the Crow’s Nest in mind for dinner.
