Food and service is great. Sometimes the wait is a little long, but with their limited space, they make due. My only complaint is that the pricing is a little steep.

While the portions are large, the menu is a maze of duplicate entries and items that are no longer available. Part of the problem is that these are the same menus from 2 years ago and the same items are still not being offered. Our waitress did stop by the table more often than I expected, but seemed overwhelmed. This, I hope, is why her answers were less than helpful. They do offer a few novelty drinks, but overall the food tastes run of the mill and did not meet my expectations for the price we had to pay,

I came here recently for the first time and I’ll definitely be back. I ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice and love it so much I ordered 2 glasses. Also had the eggs with a side of corned beef and hash, which was delicious and a perfect portion.

Always busy because breakfast is good and fast. Staff excellent. No booze so can’t have a Bloody Mary with your omelette but omelette safe great.

I went to have steak and eggs. menu online was $ 9.75, menu at restaurant was $ 13.75. Food was decent, although the steak was on the thin side. It was so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think. Not the place to go if you want a quiet meal.

Excellent food! The skillet contains everything I never thought I’d like in an omelet, amd is my favorite. I haven’t had one thing that I didn’t like here, and I’ve ordered just about everything on the menu. Must try this place!

Crowded but the food and service was superb. Very busy on Mother’s Day but everyone representing this«shoppe» were beyond friendly, cheerful and helpful. Really blown away by the attentiveness and care during such a busy day. Our table had 5 dishes and they were all excellent. Mine was the perfect benny and it was prepared without a flaw. Beautiful presentation of each plate and they all tasted delicious. I wish we had one closer to where we live. The only problem there is the size of the place. It is very crowded. Just one more square foot in width would make a difference. Double the space would be even better. Still there were only about three groups waiting during the hour or so that we were there. We had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. We will go back next time we are in Severna Park. Great place!

I love coming here. Today, I had the potato pancakes; one of their specials. They were awesome and huge. They came with 2 eggs and a choice of breakfast meat. You could also get it with sour cream and applesauce on the side. I’m always wary of ordering decaf coffee in a restaurant because I always think it was sitting around all day. Not true here. Nice and fresh. I think the brand is Roosters. No matter what I get, it always tastes like it came out of my mom’s kitchen.(Don’t tell her that :))

Saw the hype on Unilocal about this place so I decided to give this place a shot. Wheat toast was extremely greasy and each dish ordered had a hair in it to my luck. Overall food was just okay nothing crazy. It was on Valentine’s Day between 11:45−1pm

So far so good! It’s a quaint little spot! Nice and clean. There is a bar area as well with a few hi-top chairs. Kinda loud but I guess that’s a good thing, it means people are enjoying themselves. We were promptly seated and asked for our drink orders by our waitress Kristy, which took no time at all. The menus is not as extensive as other breakfast spots and it’s kinda on the expensive side, however it’s a nice choice of breakfast and brunch items. I choose the 4-eggs omelet with bacon, tomatoes, spinach and cheese. It also came with a side of hash browns and toast. I added a side of bacon. My hubby got the short stack with pecans, 3 eggs with cheese, an order of bacon and a slice of scrapple. Yeah, that’s yucky!!! Our food arrived in about 16 minutes cooked to order!!! My food was delicious I had to add salt here or there but overall it was great. Hubby’s feedback was the pancakes were a little dry and since he is a pancake expert I believe him. Overall we will refer to our friends and visit again!

Awesome spot! Had one of the best breakfasts in a long time. I had their amazing steak and eggs. The portions were very good. My steak was cooked as ordered and delicious. They serve it smothered in sautéed onions but you can request not to have them on top. I recommend getting the onions though. They seem to compliment the steak perfectly. You also get three eggs as desired, toast and home fries with the steak and eggs breakfast. I especially liked their version of home fries! Very good indeed. The service here was very good as well. Very helpful, friendly and speedy service is what we had while dining here. The restaurant is clean as are the restrooms. I even liked the décor and ambiance here. It was diner like but cleaner, warmer and nicer. In closing, try this place out. I’m not a huge breakfast food fan but these guys are helping to win me over.

Bottom Line: The best breakfast in Severna Park. The Breakfast Shoppe is a long time Severna Park institution. Although it has changed locations over the years, and I think even ownership, it remains very popular as indicated by masses of people waiting outside on weekend mornings. What I like about the Breakfast Shoppe is the cute interior and the lengthy menu. Although this is the Breakfast Shoppe, they do also serve lunch before closing their doors at 2pm, seven days a week. I highly recommend sticking to the breakfast menu and as much as I love sweets, I usually go savory here to get some filling protein. I always love eggs benedict and there are some really good choices here like the Philiadephia(think cheese steak sub), Bruschetta(pesto and moz) and Nova Scotia(smoked salmon). Service here is friendly and attentive. It probably helps that I like to go early to beat the crowds, like around 7:30am. I’d estimate that by about 9am on the weekends, all tables are full and the line is forming. The Breakfast Shoppe is family friendly and its a nice choice for the first meal of the day. There is plenty of parking although the waiting area is only outside on the curb. As others noted, it can seem a little pricey at around $ 17 a head with the meal, drink, tax and tip but that is what I seem to pay at some of my favorites places in Annapolis and Baltimore too.

I am a super picky potato pancakes eater. Nobody makes it as good as my mom. These were very comparable and I would highly suggest them to anyone looking for a good potato pancake. The atmosphere was very relaxed, very diner feeling. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice jewish style brunch I mean they have cinnamon toast on Challah bread which looked amazing.

So previously I was side-eyeing the menu prices but I will say it was worth it. It was a lot of food and managed to eat it all but one sausage patty. I got the large breakfast but I cannot remember the name of it. It rounded to about $ 16 but came with 2 eggs, choice of meat, potatoes, pancakes(I got the one piece of french toast instead), toast and juice. I really have no complaints on the food or the service. They also serve Mimosas 9.50 a piece. We have a $ 53 breakfast bill but the food was fresh and good. So if you are looking for cheap this might not be your place but if you want quality I recommend this place.

This a a cute lil’ place for breakfast. My family all had waffles and we shared two orders of bacon and home fries. My peach waffle was good except that the peaches were cold which cooled my waffle down faster than I would’ve liked. The home fries were delicious and the bacon was pretty good. The OJ is fresh squeezed and very tasty. I felt the waffles were a bit overpriced, that’s what I expect to pay at a hipster DC eatery, not suburbia. Overall, I enjoyed our breakfast. 3.5 Stars

I’ve been going to The Breakfast Shoppe since I was a lil one and my dad would take me for Happy Face Pancakes at their old location. Fast forward to 26 year old me and a new location and I’m still lovin’ it. Never had anything on the menu I haven’t loved. I’m a big fan of the breakfast tacos and the chicken and waffles. Portions are BIG, you’ll have enough to take home for later. They have best homefries I’ve ever had! Service is always great. On the weekends there is a bit of a wait sometimes(anywhere from 10 – 30 mins.) but it’s well worth it.

Sometimes searching Unilocal for a particular food turns out great results. This is not one of those times. We searched«eggs Benedict» in this area when we were passing through between work appointments, and the Breakfast Shoppe came up with tons of emphasis on their specialty. Sure, we’ll give it a try. His plate: breakfast combo(scrambled eggs, home fries, toast, sausage) Her plate: classic Benedict The service was pretty nice, and we didn’t have to wait a long time, though we did get to watch some squabbling about tables at the hostess stand while we were sitting down, so I’m sure the other reviews about getting tables and waiting aren’t exaggerated. The overwhelming flavor of our food was fake butter. The homefries were drenched in it, D’s toast was slathered in it, and when we’d finished eating what we could eat, the plate was coated in it. The Benedict, for a place that specializes in them, was over-cooked. Sometimes I don’t mind that too much, if there’s a lot of hollandaise to make up for the lost egg yolk’s sauciness, but here there’s just a glaze of hollandaise that also carries that chemically and weird fake butter taste. Not recommended, and we won’t be back. Butter isn’t the enemy, people…
