Went for lunch with my boyfriend. We shared the loaded crab chips. They were house made kettle cooked chips with lots of cheese & lump crab meat. Super crunchy and delicious! He had the special which was Korean short rib tacos and he loved them. I had the chopped salad and it was everything you could want in a salad. Had a great waiter too. They had Oliver brewing company beer on draft; it was nice to see a local brand. We will definitely be back.

Just when we think we’ve figured out what is good here we reorder it and are disappointed. Very inconsistent food. That said if the food was consistently good we would go for the mussels, flat bread pizzas, burger and Adobo chicken tacos. So we eat somewhere else and have after dinner drinks here. HH prices are great and the atmosphere is super cool.

The food is great, the beer selection is even better and then bartenders rock!

Interior design is outstanding but food doesn’t meet expectations. They need a great local chef to go with the atmosphere. With a good chef they would be the go to place in Severna Park.

Nice location, nice place. Appetizers are good especially the cheese chips. Prices reasonably. The food wasn’t all that or maybe it was the fact that I got a salad. The salmon was a little tough and the salad barely had no dressing that came with it. I would try going there again for something else and update my review if necessary.

Pretty mediocre. Had steak frites, burger and kids pizza. The pizza had to be sent back. Looked like cheap microwave pizza. Won’t be back.

Disappointing meal. Eat elsewhere! My friend and I came here late Friday evening for diner and drinks. It wasn’t super busy yet it took forever to get our food. Strike one. The waitress was a little strange, but nice. I got a mixed drink that was very weak. I hadn’t eaten and didn’t get a buzz at all. Whomp. We both ordered Mac and cheese which were super tasty but kindof cold! They came out in cute cast iron skillets, which should keep it hot and be hot to the touch, but they were just warm. Strike two. Bleh. I ordered a chicken Caesar which came out looking underwhelming, and I then noticed the piece of chicken wasn’t even fully cut, like they made slices in it and didn’t bother to cut all the way through the meat. What is this, amateur hour in the kitchen? Terrible. Strike three and then more to come. Whoever the chef is needs to have a little more passion about what he’s doing. My friends steak came out rare when he ordered medium rare. Sigh. Everything was overpriced. The whole experience was just a big waste of money. Will not be back. Also, how do you have steak on a menu and not indicate how big the steak is(how many ounces)?

First time here. Brought the entire family. Great atmosphere. Everyone was extremely friendly. Started with the Brussel sprouts. Perfectly broiled and deliciously seasoned. Had a light drizzle of sauce on top which was amazing. Just the right amount of «heat.» Also had the hop brined pickles. Very tart. Very good. I’m sure there are plenty of beers here that could be perfectly paired with these pickles. Kids got flatbread pizza and the Mac and Cheese. The flatbread pizzas were a very large size 4 slice pie. Plenty of cheese and a super crispy crust. The Mac and Cheese was cheesy beyond belief. Creamy and flavorful. All the kids chose the fresh fruit side which was fresh blueberries/strawberries. Their dinners also came with a soft chocolate chip cookie. Got the blackened fish tacos. I thought these were great. Large moist pieces of fresh fish. Spicy seasoning and sauce. I love the spicy stuff but my wife thought it was just a little too«hot» so proceed with caution. Overall these fish tacos were excellent. «Angry Mussels» equals Happy Sid. Well over three dozen mussels steamed with bacon, onions and jalapeños. This was a home run! The mussels were very fresh. This dish was served with two large pieces of fresh bread. The«juice» was so good. Dipping the bread in the shellfish brine completed the experience. Buffalo Chicken Flatbread Pizza. Cooked to perfection. Thin crispy crust. Tasted and looked like a whole wheat crust. This is a very large pie. 8 large«slabs» each with a piece of buffalo chicken centered on top of the slice. Amazing combination of cheese and buffalo sauce. Alex was our server. My daughter kept saying how tall he is. She couldn’t believe someone was finally taller than me. I’m only 6’2″ so I’m thinking Alex was 6’5″ or 6’6″. Bottom line is that is if you can sit in this tall man’s section, then you should do it. He was very attentive and helpful. Extremely polite and courteous. We will be back to Park Tavern. Great experience. Can’t wait to return and try a few beers. Their selection looks great!

Have gone here a few times and the place is typically packed. They have a very nice selection of craft beer. Service is typically pretty solid and attentive. The quality of the food is hit or miss. Some days you’ll leave there happy. other days you would have wished you went to Burger King and saved yourself some dough. Their prices are high for what you get… but that does not keep the Severna Park crew away. If you go there with low expectations .you probably will leave happy.

Average 3 star review for an average place. I’ve been here twice and I had the same experience. The food service is slow(and not because it was busy), the food is good, but not great. I have only been there for breakfast and lunch, not dinner. So maybe their dinner menu is better? I’m not saying you shouldn’t eat here. The place is clean, atmosphere is nice, but I can’t recommend it for breakfast or lunch.

This was my first return visit since they were Fireside Grill. I loved the décor. It’s very warm, inviting and cozy just like a tavern should be. They’ve got a very good selection of beer from Oliver Brewing and a pretty good looking menu. We started with the house made chips as an appetizer. They were good. They had bacon, blue cheese and a balsamic type dressing on them. I definitely would recommend them. My entrée was the half chicken. It came out looking amazing but lacked the flavor I was hoping for and was a little on the bland side for my palate. I’d steer away from the chicken and go for the burgers. That’s what I should have done but changed my mind at the last second. Bone head move on my part lol My friends got the burger and sandwiches that looked and according to them tasted very good. I will definitely return for the burger or maybe even a flatbread pizza. Oh and definitely get the Chipwich for desert. It’s PT’s take on a cookie ice cream sandwich. Very good! In summary, I do like this place. The ambiance is great. The service is very friendly but on the slow side. The prices are a bit on the high side and the food is ok. I look forward to coming back and updating my review

The food and service here has been pretty consistent and good. This is my brother in-laws favorite local place, so we come here at least once, every time we are in town visiting. When we come, we would be towing along 4 kids(and my younger one is not known to be quite and restful). But we always are greeted with smiles and excellent services through out the meal. The mussels are to die for, and the short rib mac & cheese is just terrible, so terribly good that is! Burgers are always good here too. And of course excellent choices of beer definitely help.

So disappoonted. Got here before 11. Took 10 minutes for a drink order. 10 minutes late oh came out and a waffle. No coffee. Nothing for the waffle. Still waiting for coffee. Don’t come here unless you have hours to kill and you aren’t hungry. Service sucks. Update asked to speak to the manager and after waiting 10 more minutes another waffle can out. Still no manager. Got up and left. Unbelievable the manager couldn’t come talk to us. The restaurant wasn’t full when we got there. Maybe 6 tables had people . My advice would be to go to Mother’s instead. Waitress is awesome. Had our drinks within 5 minutes of sitting down. And there isn’t an empty table.

What a wonderful atmosphere as you walk into Park Tavern. A hint of the old and a lot of modern amenities make place a comfortable restaurant to enjoy a cocktail while watching a game, or going on a first date. I started with an appetizer named bacon and blue chips. Park Tavern makes their own house potato chips and a then pile on tons of blue cheese crumbles, crispy bacon, scallions and finally a balsamic reduction sauce, making these chips a delight. They are large enough to share that man up and eat a plate on your own. I would have to say when I ordered the entrée I felt like I may be disappointed since this was a tavern rather than a Taqueria. I decided to give the shrimp tacos a chance. Each taco comes with a fresh hand made tortilla, three large batter fried shrimp, a nice slice of avocado, some cilantro, pickled vegetables, cabbage slaw, topped with a chipotle remoulade sauce to give it a smoky flavor each and every bite. Surprisingly these might be some of the finest shrimp tacos outside of California. The tacos alone are enough for me to head back. Speaking of additional reasons to stop in; the beer and wine list are second to none. They have tons of house specials and extremely wide variety of different beer types. Give this place a shot, but be prepared prices are fairly steep most entrée starting between nine and $ 29 but I have not seen any plague come out of the kitchen that did not invoke thoughts of ordering on my next visit, enjoy.

My husband and I ended up in Severna Park while shopping for something, and checked Unilocal to find a good place to eat. Park Tavern had fairly good reviews so we stopped in for dinner. The first thing we noticed was the cute décor — chalkboard walls and funky benches. We were seated quickly and our waiter Justin made good beer recommendations because their draft menu is impressive. I built my own flight, and my husband got an Oliver draft. Justin brought the flight on a chalkboard tray and had written the name of each beer with a drawing, which I loved! We started with the crab chips, which were delicious and would be easy to share with 4 people. I got the shirt rib grilled cheese, which had a lot of flavor, and husband got a tavern burger, which had really thick bacon on it. He prefers a crispier bacon, but he liked the brioche bun. We couldn’t finish either of our sandwiches so we took them home, and can’t wait to eat the leftovers for lunch today. It’s pretty loud in there but we weren’t looking for a super quiet dinner — great spot for date night and if we find ourselves in Severna Park again, we will definitely stop in!

Bottom Line: Great décor, friendly staff, ok food, a long bar list and a tad overpriced. Since my original review for Park Tavern about eight months ago I have been here many more times sitting in both the restaurant and the bar. I am desperately wanting to love this business, especially recognizing that the restaurant choices in Severna Park are overall dismal. I appreciate that Park Tavern has added happy hour specials in the early evening and Happy Hour starts again at 10pm(I think). I have super fun and energetic neighbors so we manage to span both happy hours. Good for us. :-) I also like that they sent out $ 10 off coupons to select homes in the area. Nevertheless, I still find Park Tavern overpriced. For $ 13 on in downtown Annapolis I can get a Lobster Roll that is almost nothing but huge chunks of lobster. For $ 17 at Park Tavern I can get Lobster Mac and Cheese that tastes like onion and has pea sized pieces of lobster in it. I’m a huge beer drinker so I like that the beer list is long here; however, I am not generally a fan of their Oliver beers. After living in San Diego for 12 years I’m kinda over the super hoppy beers which is the case with most of the Oliver beers. Having said that, I know other people will love the west coast hoppy style beers. If you want something other than the Oliver beers then there are still plenty of choices but currently Park Tavern only offers flights of Oliver beers, which are well executed on a custom chalkboard with cutouts for the glasses. Nevertheless, you can get a 5 oz. pour of most, if not all, draft beers.

Was really excited to try this place out, but was disappointed. The décor is awesome and it draws you in, but the service here is some of the worst I’ve seen. They have a great beer selection and I can’t say anything about the food because we didn’t eat there. Our server seemed overwhelmed although we couldn’t really tell why since there weren’t a ton of people in there when we came in. One of the guests ordered some decaf coffee and we were told a new batch was being brewed. After about 20 minutes, I went to the bartender to ask if it was ready and he said it was still being brewed. He also looked flustered and overwhelmed and even broke some glass a little while later while trying to organize the bar. Several minutes later the decaf made it’s way to the table. We were not approached by the server again for another 20 minutes or so. We would have ordered more drinks, but we couldn’t get any service. When we were finally ready to leave, the server spilled what was left of the decaf all over the girl who was drinking it(ps. she was pregnant). All in all, not a good experiance and I can’t say we’ll be stopping by again when we are home for a visit.

I’m giving this review because of the amazing beer list. Go here. Drink beer. The food we had, were just apps and they were just ok… …but the beer list. Amazing. They affiliate with their own local brewery called«Oliver» and you can get any 4 of the Oliver beers as a sampler for $ 8. You can get flights of any beers you want though, as they offer most of their beers at 5oz/12oz/16oz prices. They also offer several nitro beers, which I love, and love when I have options besides Guinness. Oh gosh. They had a Rauchbeir! A Sour! A flavored cider! I just thought this was super super cool beer list. I would give this bar 5 stars if I could pour my own beer and not deal with the service. The service the first night was just fine. Bartenders that I know from Brian Boru, good guys, good bartenders. So I brought my parents in! We sat at a high top, and came in for a specific beer that had actually kicked(I’m pretty sure I actually drank the last pint a few nights previous, but I was having too much fun and forgot. Oops). We sat at a high top since there were 4 of us. Took a while to get a beer list. I feel like the beer list should be in the table. We found beers we wanted, ordered, were pleasantly surprised that Monday is $ 316 oz beers. Yay! I still ordered a flight, and was bummed that it wasn’t served in a flight board, like it had been the previous night, because I couldn’t remember what I ordered. Beers were served by a different server than the one who took our order. She seemed visibly irritated or stressed, and ignored our table for the rest of our visit. When we were trying to pay, my dad tried to hand her his card, which I know is annoying, but her hands were not full, and she could have grabbed it. Anyway when she did finally grab the check 10 mins later, she brought it back and she had run the wrong card. Thankfully my family is honest, because she would have been shorted excessively, as the bill she ran on my dads car was $ 20 less than what we owed. I am pretty bummed, because I would have loved if my parents liked this place. They eat out a lot, and I was trying to convince them that they’d like it, since it’s right across the street. They had heard that service wasn’t great from friends. So beers, YES. Service, meh! Go, drink beers, get drunk enough not to care, take a cab!

Very nice bar-grill in Severna Park, MD. Arrived and was promptly greeted and seated. Hostess asked if we wanted water and informed us who our waitress was. Waitress promptly arrived and drinks was ordered. The waitress was friendly and informed us of the specials. She even let us know hoe popular several of the menu items were. We decided on a flatbread pizza and the Chicken Schnitzel. While we were waiting for our order we the restaurant … Park Tavern has a nice atmosphere feeling, outside seating, and it’s rather quiet despite being about ½ full. Orders arrived, new drinks acquired. Food was great. Hot, flavorful, and the Chicken Schnitzel with braised red cabbage took me back to southern Germany; Bavaria. Overall a great visit.

This restaurant reserves their bar top for entire NFL Sundays. I came in to watch a football game and was told I couldn’t sit at the bar. The open bar stools had printed papers that said«reserved for X.» How can you call yourself a tavern and have reservation cards on all the open bar stools? What a joke. I put my name on the list for a seat in the bar area. After 30 minutes, I was seated in the dining room with no view of the TVs. When I complained, I was put back on the list for another 20 minutes. In the end, the food and drinks were solid. I don’t think I’ll be returning to this pretentious«tavern.» It was just way too much work.
