Great food an atmosphere at a reasonable price. The taste and display of the food was well done and staff and courteous. There was live performance on the Saturday night I went.

This place has great atmosphere going for it and love there corn crab soup. But that’s about it. My husband and I like to go out on the weekends and a night or two durning the week to seat and talk and have a couple drinks. This bar had beer only that is worth mentioning on tab. Which you can get at any other bar in town. There cocktails are really small and always have been for the price they charge. A martini is not worth ordering as they are so small you might as well just order a shot of the alcohol you like and pay for that. They never could make a mix drink. From the day they opened to today. Really sad as they are so close to our home and have a nice outside bar, that it would be really nice if you could go and enjoy a cocktail along with your meal which is also only average. We really are disappointed when friends ask us to meet them at Clancy’s for a after work gathering, because it is so convenient to our travel home from work. Clancy’s get with the program and start making good cocktails especially Martini’s they are the thing that’s happening today tomorrow and yesterday the drink of the times. With not serving a good cocktail we do not even consider coming to your place for a meal or look at the menu even if you did have good food. There are so many other restaurants in the pitman /Washington twp/area. That people can go for good drinks and a good meal. Stop catering to the average young crowd that could care less in what they drink or eat. They just want to go out and consume alcohol. Start pleasing the customers who has the money to spend on a great night out, a couple days a week instead of a one night out convenient Bar stop by. Also with that said start a decent happy hour that couples and single’s will come in droves to attend, and advertise it as well.

Four stars is generous, but I’m rounding up from 3 ½ because I like the place. There was live entertainment on a Wednesday night and I stopped by the bar(randomly, after work… my first time there). The food was good(bacon wrapped scallops appetizer and Italian chicken cheese steak(w/roasted red peppers, broccoli rabe, and sharp provolone) and came w/homemade potato chips(which were great). Food service was by a separate server, even though I was at the bar. Food service was great; the bar service was very friendly, but a little inattentive… took awhile to get her attention even though the place wasn’t too busy. But she was nice too. Lots of televisions… I think I counted 16 overall. The atmosphere was nice, a little dark(I like that) and looks like it had a recent renovation. Even the bathrooms were really nice. I will go back for sure.

Just average food, smaller than average portions, less than good service. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and over time, several things have declined at Clancy’s. The portions have gotten smaller and the service has gotten worse. I never went expecting a gourmet meal, just a good meal for a reasonable price. The chicken pot pie and sandwiches were very good and portions were filling. The food appears to have maintained the quality, but I’ve noticed a reduction in portion size. Service was slow and our server seemed to get lost as the place got crowded. Maybe just a bad night, so I’ll probably give it another try.

I’M SEEINGDOUBLEANDIT’S NOTBECAUSEOFTHEBEER. Okay, so for some odd reason you need to talk to 2 people to put in your order! You have to stand your menu in an upright position as to notify the staff that you’re ready to order, when there’s a perfectly capable bartender across from you worthy of your tips! The best part is when the waitress comes up behind you, double points if you’re turning behind to take your food order and spinning forward to take your drink order. Unfortunately, I had to split my original tip into two for each server even though one only took my order and asked me how it was. I also received two pens, two receipts and ended up using two cards as one of the servers wasn’t as expedient as the other. I asked the manager, Chuck, and he stated«that’s how we do things.» I’m not sure if Clancy’s is trying to start a trend with this strange system, but at least Visa is making more money considering they’re getting twice the amount of transaction fees.

The best dish they had was the bratwurst with bacon, cheese and saurkraut. Unfortunatly when they changed their menu they dropped this. One of their signature dishes. Dont take my word, go in and try thier food and you will notice under poured drinks and medicore food.

We met a large group of our friends here on a Thursday night, and we were all very happy with the food and the service. The bunch of us showed up unexpectedly, and were greeted warmly and immediately accommodated. I had the Clancy’s Reuben and it was perfect! My husband got the hamburger and said it was cooked perfectly. Our food arrived very quickly. It was a fun, relaxed place to hang out, and I have to give the waitstaff all the credit in the world for taking great care of a large group on such short notice.

My friend chose Clancy s for dinner before our show at the Broadway Pitman Theatre on January 9, 2014. It was an excellent choice for sure. We both got there at 6 and it was jam packed. We both were wondering if we were going to have time to finish eating. As the food passed my mouth was watering. I was so hungry because I never eat properly and I asked if I could get us popcorn and the girl immediately got us a bowl. It was popped in a machine like the movie theatre so it was delicious. I believe the owner seated us and he instructed the waitress to rush our order and take care of us as quick as possible since we had the show. My companion had fish tacos. I ordered pasta with lump crabmeat and tomatoes. It was on the specials list. I was all prepared to order the chicken pot pie which looked amazing. But, can t pass up pasta and crab. Especially when it is lump meat. I was very pleased with my meal and felt it very reasonably priced. My friend was not all that crazy her fish tacos. I can not judge because I would not eat tilapia. Not a fish fan so my judgement would always be a negative. Highly recommend and will go again. Wonderful establishment. I spoke to who I think was one of the owners and they owned Villari s at one time. He said they sold it about twelve years ago. Villari s that is but, they meaning Villari s, kept the name. Another establishment I like. They have a wonderful bar. Very crowded and not a young crowd. Visited January 2015

We didn’t even get to eat the food here because the napkins were rolled wrong. The seam goes on the inside!

Went for some drinks and apps. Overall just ok. The wings could have been cooked longer. The steak rolls are a bit too chewy. The mozzarella sticks were typical. Service is good and very friendly. There are several other restaurant pubs in the area that are better.

We got a gift certificate here when we moved to the area, and all I can really add is that it’s really average, and really local… I felt like an outsider, and it was super loud on a Saturday night. Glad to see people enjoying themselves, but it was a bit of an older crowd, with a pretty horrid band, playing awfully loud with too few bodies to absorb the noise. The food was alright, nothing memorable. I would go again since it’s close but I wouldn’t take anyone here expecting a stellar evening. They have a patio with a bar that looked nice, I’d like to go try that on a nice fall night.

Had a great twilight meal on the deck with my son. Cloth napkins almost made up for flimsy plastic cups of Sam Adams Oktoberfest. Shared the house Guinness wing appetizer. I had Mac and sharp cheddar short rib sandwich on Texas toast. It was as messy as our server Erin warned me it would be, but worth it. Son had fish tacos and thought highly of them too. Place has a welcoming neighborhood vibe.

Was at this establishment a month ago. My family made reservations for 7 ppl on a Saturday night, an hr before the reservation time they called to confirm our reservation, we ofcourse confimed. When we arrive clancys pub tells us that dont make reservations, and accused us of canceling our reservation! We never did, the place was packed and it was then obvious they just said that to fit as many ppl in. We waited a good 15 minutes as they«tried» to fit ussomewheres. Clancys pub points out this large amount of ppl w kids at one outside table, speculates they’ll prob be leaving soon,(lol bc of having kids present there) and promises to find out. 15 misses passes, nothing is happening… no update, no apologies nothing. Mybfamily member kindly then asks the large table if they infact will be leaving soon and nicely tells us no, they’re expecting others soon. The manager, an italian, pompous fellow witnesses this occuring from inside and comes out irate, angerly and loudly asks my family member«Did you just interrupt that table while eating dinner?! Would u like it if somebody interrupted u at your house while eating dinner?!!» Those very words. He again asked the same question… just alil louder this time around. My family and i were all stunned. Mind you, its a pub, were right next to the outside bar and the family at the table didn’t bat an eyelash when my relative went to ask. The manager knows never to speak to customers that way, he knows better he just thinks he can get away with that manner. Typical jerk. I surely gave it right back to him, shocked and furious. Point of my entry is that this can’t be the first time clancys has behaved in this manner… and most likely it won’t be the last. Your warned.

Like many others on here, I’ve been visiting Clancy’s for many years. I appreciate the upgrades from the renovations and definitely think it’s an improvement. My husband and I met here for lunch today and while we usually get seated in the back left section of the dining room, today we sat closer to the bar area. Our waitress was attentive from the moment we walked in until the end of our meal. We got the hummus appetizer which was yummy. For the main meal, I went with the(tried and true) Clancy’s Ruben sandwich(and sweet potato fries) and the dude got the Spinach Salad with chicken. We were both happy with both. I had eyes on his salad but I didn’t steal it. ;) It’s a convenient place for us to meet for lunch. Definitely more sports bar than upscale restaurant but does the trick. I mostly settle at Clancy’s for lunch so I can’t say what the atmosphere or clientele is like during other hours but I’m usually happy dining there.

So we visited for an event here, and it was our first time. We went in optimistic with no expectations… So the hostesses were sweet, totally patient as we asked for a booth and assured them we would stand and wait until one was available. The waitress was alright, basically attentive and decently regular regarding drink. But she was completely unconcerned that our two plates worth of mussels were largely untouched(we’ll get to this in a moment) and fairly uninformative about the drinks and their prices. Needless to say, the Bloody Mary was terrible and not worth the cost and I’m told the Long Islands were more ice than anything. Now back to the food. The mussels were enormous — like creature from the Black Lagoon big, and I’m a seafood eater whose enjoyed his share of mollusks. They were poorly cleaned, various ones were closed and numerous ones which were open were slimy and runny on the inside. Really? Sure, I would have loved to say something to the waitress if she appeared for more than 2 seconds, and given me an opportunity to show her the science project going on across our plates. Don’t even get me started on the quantity of OLDBAY they decided to put in the white sauce. First time for that… The fries ordered across from us were overloaded with nasty cheese melted to mask whatever form they had initially held(individual slices of something maybe?) All this and we’re going with Two Stars. One, because we did get seats pretty quick and the hostesses were so pleasant. Second star for your band, which was superb this night(Crashing Saturns, you salvaged a star for the evening).

I have visited Clancy’s a few times in the past 6 months and after one questionable visit I have to say I’ve had a couple meals worth mentioning. The chicken with Apple butter and brie sandwich was excellent as was one of their nightly specials that was Cajun chicken. The service has been good and those meals were delicious. I was skeptical after the refurb because they didn’t just change the furniture. They changed the menu and the ambiance(e.g. dark uniforms for the servers). It it’s a totally new place. So far so good in my experience.

Stopped in with my co-worker for lunch and had a great experience. The food was hot, fresh and delicious and the service by Leigh was great. I couldnt have asked for anything more! A great bar/restaurant combo perfect for a cozy winter spot. It also looks like they have a deck which I will definitely be checking out when the snow clears!(Decorated really nicely too, LOVE the bar back-splash)

I have been to Clancy’s three times now. Once just for a beer or two with the Hubs. Twice for dinner with friends. All three times were busy Friday nights. The staff was friendly and courteous. Service was fairly quick and the food is really good! Better than bar/pub food for sure. The first time I had a chicken pot pie that was HUGE and out of this world delish! I can’t recall what I had on the second visit… Terrible, I know. Whatever it was it must have been good because I still want to go back for more. The menu has a large variety.

I am thrilled that Clancy’s got it together! The new renovations and menu are a great addition to the area. Before the place was a bit outdated, and the food was not so good. Last week I had the«Twist» which was a pastrami sandwich on a Philly pretzel roll — amazing! Delicious! And the week before that I got the short rib flatbread, which was also yummy. The arugula, beef and parmesean cheese was a perfect combination. Can’t wait til the deck is open to dine al fresco!

I have visited Clancy’s several times over the last eight years. It was never anything special but the beer was always cold and it has a large bar area with many televisions for sports. A good place to meet up before heading out for the night and they had decent bar-food-type snacks. This place was closed for a better part of the early spring and depending on what story you heard it could have been closed for good or bad reasons. Anyway, while Clancy’s was closed the front marquee indicated that the were renovating. At that point I got excited because they were due for a change and my personal opinion was that the kitchen and menu needed just as much renovation as the dining room and bar area. So, a few weeks, a month and they re-open. I give it a few more weeks for the staff to learn the new menu and the new layout. I then read an article in the local newspaper about the new menu and décor and it sounds like things got better. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the place, but when we were torn where to go for a quick bite and a drink we would usually head elsewhere because the food was just so-so. So I stopped there for dinner(5:30) on 4÷20÷2013 before heading to a concert in the city and I can honestly say I will most likely never return. I had a terrible experience. When I first walked in, the place smelled like moth balls — no lie, moth balls. I didn’t get it and that was the first thing I noticed. The second thing I noticed was the new décor, however, the layout did not change. It was Saturday so there was a crowd and I had to wait for a table. No problem, I understand that it is a Saturday evening, but there is no place to wait. I had to wait at the main entrance and constantly had to move away from the door as more people came in. The bar was pretty much full and what appeared to be a waiting area next to a fireplace was right in between two dining tables where people were eating so it was not a comfortable place to wait. After waiting for 15 minutes to sit down I was seated in the back room in a booth. The booths share the backrests of the seats so you feel every time the guy sitting in the next booth moves around because the backrests aren’t anchored properly. Very uncomfortable. The waitress, who was a very polite and friendly young lady, asked for our drink order but was not able to recite the tap or bottle list. And I had to ask her because there was no drink menu on the table. With somewhere in the vicinity of 20 taps, there should be a draught list on the table, just my opinion. Then we review the menu. Much of the old menu is still there and there were quite a few new items too — Great, I thought I’d try something new, but let’s start with the Clancy’s nacho platter. For $ 8 I was disappointed. Not many chips and they were drenched in processed jar cheese. I could have made that at home and saved $ 5. Here’s a not-so-funny part — as we waited for the main course some guy starts yelling, and I mean YELLING, in the bar area. He was cursing and we thought there was a fight until the waitress pleasantly announced«He’s just yelling at the TV. He’s been here all day.» Well maybe its time to call him a cab then! it was pretty disturbing that they would let someone get that hammered. Which brings me to one major point. This place is confused about its identity. It doesn’t know if it wants to be this trendy, upscale casual pub with a trendy menu or a neighborhood sports bar. I mean the new décor is beautiful — gas fireplaces and earth tones with glass tile and a bunch of other fancy stuff, but then they have TVs lined up against the entire length of the wall behind the bar with sports being televised and rock music playing. Definitely confused about what type of place it exactly wants to be and not the ambiance I expected in a dinner time setting. Anyway, the main entrees are still so-so. The only option as a side with a sandwich was fries, and they came out undercooked. Nothing to write home, or Unilocal, about. I was simply expecting more with the redesign and relaunch but walked away very disappointed.
