Lucy’s Custard

What a difference a year makes. Last year/​season (2012) Lucy’s was very good, however, I have visited twice so far this year and both times I was disappointed.
During both visits I purchased custard and it was good — sweet and creamy, no complaints whatsoever about the flavor/​quality. Where things went downhill was in the serving size and price. I ordered a medium and it was comparable to a small size I have received at other custard stands. And for the amount of custard I received it was overpriced. Additionally, I paid for jimmies/​sprinkles and they barely put any on. I don’t know how much custard and sprinkles cost wholesale, but it can’t be so much that they can’t cover my custard in it.
I don’t know if this place is under new management this year or what, but I hope they get back to how they operated in years past and bring the bang-​for-​your-​buck back. If not, I’ll just go to Dippy’s or Rita’s from now on.

Nice selection of ice creams, water ice, gelato, pretzels, chips, and hot dogs too! Custard style and hand dipped ice cream. Two windows. Prices are average. I like it!

Mmm… I wish this place had been there when I was growing up. Then again, it might mean I’d have diabetes by now. Good custard and slushies and water ice. I got some custard with mix-​ins (like a DQ Blizzard) and enjoyed it on a scorchingly hot day.
