Holiday Inn Express & Suites Minneapolis Sw – Shakopee

I’ve stayed at Holiday Inns before and… meh…nothing special. So I wasn’t expecting much to be honest. We had a hockey tourney and wanted to take advantage of swimming in December so we decided to get a room. The Friday we were scheduled to check in I called to find out the cancelation policy (we were originally staying for 2 nights and only needed 1), the lady who answered said I could let her know by 1pm Saturday if we wanted to cancel for that night. She also said to come early so the kids could swim, we could check in early, etc. Awesome! We got there early enough to take advantage of the pool being empty, we had it to ourselves for 2 hours! Once the rest of the team arrived that changed ;) but it was still fun! The room (queen suite) was a good size, slept all 5 of us very comfortably. It was clean, smelled fresh, had a good sized «mini» fridge and extra cupboard space. Come to think of it… even the hallways smelled «new». There was continental breakfast in the morning, just the standard, but plenty of options. The check in and out process was slick and the front desk staff were extremely friendly. If we are in the area again and in need of a room I would definitely stay here again!

Just had an interaction with the manager, Jeff, over the phone. I found him extremely helpful and understanding. He went out of his way to help me out. I have heard a lot about midwest hospitality, and it is still alive and well in Minnesota.

I’ve stayed here several time on business and personal trips. Clean, nice parking lot, great location, comfortable bed, great selection for breakfast if you like that kind of thing (I don’t). A little pricey, but not bad for the location.
