Slow drive through service, have left several times after 10 minute wait. Went through drive through for lunch the other day, when I got my order, luckily I looked at it before leaving, wrong order. Went inside, had to wait in short line to tell them, as another customer walked up with the wron order also. I was told to sit down, but watched the worker start to make my order incorrectly again. I told him that I ordered with meat and cheese only, to which he said“that’s not what it says here. When I ordered, she replied no mushrooms, peppers or whatever. Apparently she was new.

Slowest service EVER. Gas prices are too high to wait at the drive thru! Wow. Terrible!!!

I have been addicted to Taco Johns for 35 years. I know what it’s supposed to taste like. This store’s taco meat is dry and way too salty. I am also tired of having to open all my food and then walking back from the drive thru to get the sour cream they forgot… again. I have been 3 times now hoping last visit was a bad day because it is closest to me. I will go out of my way to Savage now which is a consistently good experience.

Now, I’ll just start this review by saying I’ve been a fan of Taco John’s for years. When I was in high school in Hutchinson, I visited it often and even worked at both their locations(they used to have a mall location in addition to the one they have now) and so had my wife and one of my best friends. I think they are probably the best tex-mex fast food out there. Great Americanized mexican food for a great price. Not quite as cheap as Taco Bell, but SO much better. The only complaint I have with them is that I don’t think they have nearly enough locations. I drive around alot to different clients for my IT consulting job and I’m often in areas I’m not familiar with and at times when I don’t find a new place that really piques my interest, I then search to see if there is a Taco Johns in the area. I almost always get the taco bravo(which is a soft shell bean taco with a hard shell beef taco in the middle) and a meat & potato burrito with chicken which has their amazing potato oles in the middle. Everyone in my family has their favorites there whether it’s the potato oles, the super burrito, or the taco burger. I would normally post this review across multiple locations since I’ve probably been to every Minnesota location, but when I did that for a different place with two locations, someone flagged it and said it was a duplicate review and it got removed. Even though I changed the review for each to differentiate the two. I decided to do my review on the Shakopee location since I have been there many times and love it and they also have a bit of flexibility there since they have the Steak Escape in the same location. The loaded smashed potatoes there are also amazing. and huge. PS– Their new breakfast menu is pretty good. Probably the best fast food breakfast burrito out there. SOOOO much better than any of the big chains.

Taco Johns is a safe place to get American Mexican food in the Mid-West. The menu was a bit confusing because it shares the menu-board with Steak Escape. I ordered #1(2 crispy tacos, their signature«potato oles» and drink). The tacos were nice, big and meaty. Their potato oles were delicious but were grease bombs. They’re super crispy tater tots, with a mysterious«flavor» seasoning that tastes a lot like dried powder soup mix out of a dried ramen package. I was reminded that I should get the cheese dip on the side for some added calories and Mid-west faux-food experience. The service was prompt and quick, nothing out of the ordinary. I would come back to this place just because I can tell people I’ve been to «Taco John’s» and my Californian friends can laugh at me.
