Excellent traditional sushi and fresh raw fish. Loved the Osaka roll and salmon sashimi.

My friend, who I met in Japan, recommended this place as her favorite in town. I wasn’t disappointed. I had the sushi and it was super good. The salmon nigiri was above par and so was the spicy California roll.

Came here for the hibachi. I ordered the steak hibachi. The steak was delicious but the vegetables and fried rice was meh. The fried rice tasted like fried rice where you would order from a Chinese take out. I was looking forward to fried rice you get when you order from any Japanese hibachi restaurant. If you order hibachi and you know what it is… it’ll be best to just get white rice instead of fried rice. I would come back to try sushi next time!

Good basic rolls decent service, I always start off basic at new places, but definitely a repeat place to come to if the #1 place is closed

Green wasabi has a very friendly staff, clean restaurant, and the best sushi I have had in this area. When friends ask for a recommendation this is my go to for sushi. Prices are reasonable.

If I could give negative star I would. The worst Hitachi ever. I wanted to return the dish since I didn’t touch it. They just wouldn’t take it back… Never encountered such response from a restaurant… NEVERCOMEHERE!

I’ve been three times since I wrote the first review and I’ve been disappointed each time. The service has been terrible and the food quality has declined. I ordered tuna sashimi and the pieces they have me were frozen. Not ice cold, totally frozen. When I told the waitress she just looked at me and said ‘oh sorry’… With several other options in the area I think I’ll skip this place next time.

Ok, you know me, right??? Picky!!! This is simply the best sushi restaurant in our area besides a couple of places in Destin. I don’t know who made up the rolls but they are so good I want to eat there every day. The sushi chef is a really cool looking kid with blonde hair. I have no idea how he does it but he is magic. There have been a couple of times where they have been so busy that they can’t keep up with only 2 waitresses. I almost want to jump in and help them because they are working so hard! This place serves quality fish and ingredients. The sushi rice, as we know well as sushi lovers, has to be right. It has NEVER been wrong at this place for me. The staff doesn’t rush you or push you to out the door so they can get paid. I really love this place so much. I have had a bit of their take-out and it is pretty good too. It isn’t quite as greasy and cheap as Chinese food is around here. Does anyone know of a good, authentic Chinese food place in our area? If you do, let me know. But back to Green Wasabi… Please never close, and don’t go changin’…you are simply the best we have and I will cry if you ever leave me.

Was very unhappy with the dish I ordered and couldn’t eat any of it after they tried to remake it for me. They still put it on the check and didn’t care to remedy the situation. This was the second chance we gave the place and will never eat there again. Paid $ 10 for nothing. They saw that I was unhappy and didn’t touch the food and they didn’t care at all.

After a few visits it’s time for a review. Each time we have been here, there were few or no other tables the entire time. The atmosphere is nice. The sushi is decent. A large selection is available. The pad Thai tasted a bit too sweet, wasn’t bad though. Fried rice was a bit bland, other than the slight taste of the oil. But the beef, oh the beef. It was so tender and delicious! Everything else so far is okay. Not bad, but not great. Would still visit again. Definitely better than other places in the area.

Well this is my third time here and well they can’t handle it when it’s busy. Two girls on a pay day when one speaks English causes a huge delay. I watched two groups up and leave. Food was still good all the same

Me and my coworkers are regulars at this restaurant for lunch. We came at least once a week and we are usually served by the same waitress. Service is great, food is always fresh and made to order. I highly recommend the terriaki chicken bento box. The chicken is grilled to perfection(even if it takes a few more time to get your food) it’s so worth the wait when you know your food comes out fresh and amazing. Ginger salad is always on point. Would recommend this place to anyone.

TL;DR: There’s better sushi to be had in the area for less money. Long version: It’s hard to find a sushi place that’s open for a late lunch. My girlfriend and I came into Green Wasabi around 2:30.on a Saturday, the restaurant seemed very clean and well decorated. The waitress seated us quickly and overall the service was fast, but not very attentive(we wanted to order some more food after the main course but our waitress brought the check, so we decided not to stay). This is an Asian fusion place and serves Japanese /Chinese entrees, but we came for the sushi. We ended up ordering the Green Wasabi roll(it’s in the name of the restaurant so it has to be good), the Sexy Lady Roll(of course), and a deep-fried roll topped with shrimp tempura. The presentation was neat but nowhere near as spectacular as some of the pictures from previous reviews led me to expect, this might have been because of the time thst we came in or because of a previously mentioned change in sushi chefs. Also, I have to agree with the previous reviewers who compared the taste to «mall sushi», unfortunately I think that’s the best term for it. I’ve had better at Okinawa and Dosirak House. On another note, they do have an interesting selection of sake. We decided to try the Coconut Lemongrass, it was milky white and had a strong, sweet coconut flavor. Definitely an acquired taste. Overall, unless you have a burning desire to go to/stay in Shalimar, there’s better sushi to be had in FWB for less than the $ 50 we spent on three rolls and some sake here. Bonus: My girlfriend’s comment was«the best food item they had was the after-dinner mint».

This place is amazing! I’ve never gotten a bad thing. The service is fast & friendly. The food is always fresh! The prices are incredibly decent. They could charge a lot more if they wanted to. Thunder rolls, beef negi maki, & moochi ice cream and I’m in heaven!!!

My family and I went to this restaurant for the first time today. The staff was very friendly and everything was fresh and woderful. The nigiri and sashimi portions are also large which was much appreciated. The restaurant itself was very clean. All in all we were very happy and we will be returning in the future.

I’ve eaten at about 50 sushi place in the US and Europe… I was HAPPILY surprised by this new sushi spot in Shalimar, close to my home in Crestview… I decided to try it out since a student I give tennis lessons to works here and invited me and my wife to try it out on their Grand Opening week! We started with the Beef Nagimaki which was thin sliced steak wrapped around green onions and baked in a savory sauce. It was delicious. The onions gave the beef a subtle flavor that was delightful. Then we tried about 5 different sushi rolls: the asparagus(basic but yummy), the yellowtail jalapeño(again a very basic roll but amazingly flavorful), the Playboy(flippin amazing), the dancing eel(also recommend), the golden dragon(yummy mango and wicked presentation), and spicy shrimp! To be honest, you can’t go wrong with this place with the décor, the service, and the excellent food. This place is exactly what you would hope for in a sushi restaurant!!!
