I’ve been shopping around for a very simple bookshelf, as well as other small things for the house, so I stopped in to see if they had anything for me. My visit resulted in an experience that warrants no return or recommendation.
Items seem over priced for what’s available.
Customer service needs to be worked on. I walked in and made eye contact with the associate at the counter and she didn’t bother to smile, let alone say hello. I browsed for a while and still nothing. I walked right past her to leave and still nothing. It is a very small store so we were in pretty close contact during almost my entire visit in the store. Not sure if I just didn’t seem like someone who would want to buy from this store (young, black female) or if this is the norm (according to another review).
Bad first experience for me so I won’t be back.

Love, love, love this place. I can always find the best special gifts. Prices are good and the back room is full of deals. I’ve enjoyed this store for years. Jewelry is sturdy, clothing is good quality and everyday is a new day at Encore.

I usually love the store, but it seemed fairly empty of items today; perhaps they took all their best things to the First Friday weekend at Restoration Emporium, but that doesn’t do their store customers any good.
I have in the past purchased some great items, such as jewelry, unique décor and a few other things. Another jewel in downtown Shawnee.

I’ve been to Encore twice, plus I’ve visited their booths at Restoration Emporium and Good Company. Their stuff is cute and there’s a nice mix, which includes your usual vintage /​shabby chic décor items and furniture, plus a decent selection of jewelry and consignment clothing.
They lose me a little because I’ve never found anyone at the shop to be overly welcoming, either visit — I don’t think I got so much as a hello either time. I’ve taken my time browsing both visits, but I’ve never had a need to strike up a conversation or ask a question. Maybe they get friendlier when they know you want to spend money.
Encore is a cute place, but there’s nothing here that personally draws me back for more.

This store is very well thought out! You have to stop in and look at everything at least one time! They have new and used items and redone furniture. The owner is very upbeat and helpful. They have a back room full of antiques and gently used clothing. I totally loved the energy in the store and the great ideas she has! I will stop back in to check out more goodies! :)

I’ve been wanting to go in this place for a long time to look around. They have great window displays and I always enjoy their entry in the annual Shawnee Scarecrow contests. Today was a beautiful Fall day, so I walked over to finally take a look inside.
It was about what I expected, though a little bigger than it looks from the outside. They definitely have a variety of items — some tacky-​chic, some just cool — prices were a little steep for me, but I was just browsing, not looking to buy anyway.

I was only here with my girlfriend but it seems like a nice place. Not really my kind of place though.

Let me get this off my chest… window displays! Oh my, does this girl have a knack with making her windows so inviting, fresh and classy! The items in this shop are renewed, vintage and always unique! Things to make your home classy and also one of a kind clothing from local designers. This is my go to place for gifts!

This boutique seemed nice. Kind of cluttered in some areas… It’s a portion of boutique class, thrift shop feel with a few standard pieces sprinkled in. Odd. But, okay. I wanted to give my general feel of the place before posting my negative one. My mother, daughter & I came here looking for furniture. And my Mom saw a gaming table she adored. But, the owner (or shop keeper) completely ignored us. I even walked by and said good morning & she continued walking elsewhere. Customer service is lax many places. So, I would have just chalked it up to that. But, every other customer that came into the store was treated w/​a smile, told about the place & where to find things. My family toured the small shop separately for about 20 min & she spoke to none of us. So, needless to say, my mom decided she wouldn’t spend a penny in the place.

Encore is one of the few thrift-​type stores I’ve found close to Shawnee, and I do like it, but it is a little confused (in my opinion). I think they’re going for a cute boutique feel but it ends up feeling a bit scattered to me.
There are some forgettable new, mass produced clothing and jewelry items in front and then some awesome, fun local pieces, refinished furniture, and fun accessories. The back has less exciting used furniture pieces and clothes — some of which are modern consignment (Express, Gap) and some are vintage.
It is definitely worth a peek if you’re nearby, but I don’t make special trips unless I see something on Craigslist I like (search for Encore and they post furniture)! I hope they find a steadier «niche» and grow by supporting unique finds and antiques alongside local artisans.
Parking can be a bit tricky, so give yourself time to find a spot! Staff is very nice — when I bought a table they had someone carry it out which was great.

Encore is one of my most favorite shops. When I want to treat myself this is my favorite place to go. The shop is always full of treasures! And local designers and artists are always featured. I have Encore pieces in my closet, the purse I’m carrying right now is from Encore, and to my right is a bookshelf I adore — from Encore. I always walk out of there feeling I’ve found something unique. Love it!

Encore is another treasured find of mine in old Merriam. I love the area, and Encore fits in perfectly with the diner and antique shop across the street. It makes me think of a small quaint little town square area, and I love it!
As per my previous review, I was on the hunt for a new purse and I found many! They have an excellent stock of clothing, accessories, and purses here and for very reasonable prices.
My other favorite thing about this shop is that they have an antique section in the back that usually has some great items. Make sure you dig and search though, because a lot of the good stuff if hidden up high (as in artwork and the like). I found some darling tiny picture frames for $ 3 for my desk at work and a very cool wooden music box. They also have a great selection of china and furniture as well.
The owner is so sweet and she is always well dressed (which I find to be important in a business owner of this sort) and eager to help in any way.
This is a great little shop to bring your girlfriends, mom, and grandma for an afternoon of shopping.

I am a vintage fanatic especially jewelry but i love the modern edge and femininity of the trends going on right now so pretty mush Encore is fabulous! i can get my vintage fix and also mix it with more modern and unique pieces. Tamara always has something fun and new and im sure that when i need anything for home décor i will hit up her store. BTW the owner is a sweet heart who is great at dressing people and can put you in a head to toe out fit that would make you look and feel like a million bucks without breaking the bank.

Encore has been a favorite of mine since I moved to shawnee a few years ago. Initially it was the outside holiday display that grabbed my attention and lured me to stop and go in. Inside this boutique are amazing finds for your wardrobe and home décor. Very creative family owned and operated this store is most definately a must see. Any special occasion, all concert outfits and a new piece each season, I can find here. Love it. Service is exceptional, they remember you and have an excellent eye for what piece you would wear well. As lady gaga would say… you will want to «just dance» in these clothes

I found this shop online when I was looking for something else and decided to go check it out. It’s a very cute little resale place in what I think was old downtown Merriam. They have a few new things, as well – I bought a bright green trench-​coat style raincoat that I figure I can put to good use; I’m ready for the rain to come back now.
In vintage things, I bought a really cute little notions box that was made in Japan that I intend to give as a gift – it was $ 6.00. I also bought two tiny, delicate little hand-​painted apertif glasses for $ 5.00 apiece! And I saw an oak dresser that was remarkably similar to an antique one I got from my grandparents and the price was really reasonable.
Encore is probably like most stores of this kind – hit or miss. I felt like I hit today.
