I liked this place so much I stayed twice! But honestly I did and for $ 35 it was a great choice. The crew is very personable and hospitable and the facilities are top notch. Thanks again to melo, marney, and the rest of the staff. Y’all were great –The North Carolinian

This hostel is a must do for through(AT) and multi day hikers. The beds ae soft, the showers/bathrooms are nice, the hosts are very accomodating, and there are plenty of common areas to hang out and relax. They even built us a fire outdoors. The breakfast was amazing(chocolate chip muffins, breakfast burrito, Nom!) and they were kind enough to drive me to the bus stop. This hostel was recommended to me by a through hiker(Supa Chef!) after Hurricane Irene disrupted out hike. I checked out the AMC’s Joe Dodge lodge but it was going to be $ 65 a night! For $ 25 a night plus a $ 10 shuttle fee(free pick up if you stay more than 1 night) I went here instead and had a great time. Highly recommended for hikers!

I booked this for myself and two friends ahead of time on a long road-trip/hiking trip from Georgia to Maine. To keep it short and sweet, we were NOT disappointed. This place, and most importantly, it’s staff, made the stay excellent. We stayed for two nights in early June, and the owners took exceptional care of us. To demonstrate, they gave us a map of the White Mountains, gave us a ride to AND from the trail-head of our hike, cooked feasts for breakfast both mornings – and even gave us hot coffee and tea for a journey up to an incredible swimming hole, ad infinitum. Needless to say, the owners really took care of us, and took a personal interest in us. The beds, bathrooms, and facilities were quality as well, especially for a hostel! The Appalachian Trail actually touches part of their property, and provided a really cool day-hike for us. All in all, a great place to stay!
