Esplendido Pizza and Taco

This review is based solely on the pizza. We don’t dine in. We always get carry out. We’ve been Getting pizza here since 2007. They’re deep dish is one of the best in the area. Crust is not greasy like at the 4 letter place. The sauce is good and they are not stingy on toppings. Check out their website for specials and coupons. We always get the Family deal special which is a great price for what you get.

Not a fan. I’ve been here numerous times only because my friend loves it. I’ve tried different entrees and appetizers and it’s nothing worth giving many stars for. The Restaurant needs to be remodeled, looks run down and dirty. Cheap place trying to be known for Mexican, check out a different place.

Great food and great service!
The puffy shell tacos are to die for and the avocado cheese crisp is the bomb. The pizza is great their squares are not at all as greasy as jets and the sauce is awesome. Fajitas are pretty dope as well same with the enchiladas.

I would not recommend this place to anyone! The service and food is terrible. Upon sitting at our table the hostess took our drink and appetizer order and dropped off our chips and salsa. The salsa is probably the worst I’ve ever had in my life. I think it’s straight tomato sauce outta the can. About 10 minutes later our waitress finally comes over to our table to take our order. About 10 more minutes later our queso dip arrived… It was not good at all. It could have been hotter. It was melted but needed to be warmer. We found a fruit fly in our dip (which they did take off the bill). It’s still winter… Why is there a fruit fly in our queso? Luckily we shared a taco dinner because we weren’t happy with that either. The waitress looked over at our table numerous times… Never came and checked on us once. We waited at least 20 more minutes after we finished our horrible dinner before the hostess came over and took our plates… Still no sign of the waitress coming over. I will never come here again… And want to warn others about this horrible place.

First Time Ordering — Had it Delivered —
Everything was Cold and Soggy —
Everything Came looking the same — No way to identify whose was whose — In the end they screwed up and sent two of the same Combo Plates though we clearly ordered two different.
The food was tasteless — bland —
The Guacamole however was great.
The price was ridiculous — would not have batted an eye if the food was worth it!

This food was so bad I can’t believe people go there. I feel sorry for people who think it’s good! Everything is out of a can and does not seem to be homemade in the least bit! I think the only spice in their kitchen is pepper. What a shame. I know how expensive food is but upping the quality and prices should be considered.

Was just ok. The décor was average neighborhood hole-​in-​the-​wall bar. Plenty of TV’s with the day’s sporting event. The service was good, waitress was helpful and quick. But the food was just so-​so. My husband had pizza, and I had a the chimichanga dinner.
I’d go back for drinks and snacks, but probably not for dinner.

We have eaten here once before a while back, not sure why no review
A pal told me about the fluffy tacos & $ 2 taco Tuesdays, so why not!
Entered & were greeted by a very bubbly gal, gave us a cozy booth off to the side.
We ordered 2 tacos each, 3 chicken & one ground beef.
While waiting the gal provided a large basket of nice sturdy chips & a large bowl of thick, flavorful, not to spicy salsa .
The tacos arrived, hot & overflowing with ingredients, the server was correct the chicken are far better than the beef, especially the «Secret blend’ cheese.
–1 star as the place is in dire need of a update/​sprucing up and /​or enhanced lighting, as it as bright as a cafateria. lighting could enhance the place big time

If you’re looking for ambience, look elsewhere — this place is a straight up dive. But what they lack in décor, they make up for with their amazing «puffy» shredded chicken tacos and delicious enchiladas! I’ve eaten here at least 40 times and the food is always consistently great.
Also, they have specials (drink and food) every single day of the week! The wait staff is attentive and the owners are as sweet as can be. Take-​out is a pretty good option too if you don’t want to dine in.
How can you live in Shelby Township and not love Esplendidos?

OK, here is my review:
Esplendido is a great place that doesn’t always have great service. The Mexican food is wonderful and the pizza is delicious. They now serve burgers and other items as well, but that’s not what I’d go here for. Their homemade soft shell tacos keep me coming back, and I live 45 minutes away from here!
Don’t expect too much in the way of service. On multiple occasions I have been let down by the wait staff and the kitchen. If you’re going to eat here you had better plan on spending some time sitting hungrily at your table. I have not, however, had a problem when ordering takeout.
I will say that when they screw up when you’re eating at the restaurant they try their hardest to make it right. Case and point: We came here for dinner this past Mother’s Day. We sat for an hour before receiving our appetizers. All in all we were here for close to 2 hours for Mexican food, and WE certainly weren’t dillydallying. The owner came by and apologized multiple times, bought us a round of drinks, and even threw in desert.
His customer service skills are far better than the ability of his staff to ensure we had a pleasant experience. I will definitely be coming back, because the food is THAT GOOD.

I was going to esplendido when i was in high school and had very little spending money, buying the most delicious cheese bread on the planet for under 3 dollars. since then, theyve upgraded the facility, made it a family restaurant, but the food is still fantastic. the menu there is sort of strange, given that it’s mexican and pizza in one restaurant, but dont let the weird combo fool you. they have the best tacos you can get in the area (trust me, I’d know) Their pizza is pretty good, not my favorite place in the area, but worth eating for sure. However, their menu changed pretty subtly when they switched locations, and one thing that didnt make it to the new menu was the Steak and Potato Pizza. It’s a pizza where steak and potatoes cover the bread, and the sauce is a delicious creamy italian dressing type sauce. IT IS FANTASTIC. and like i said, if you try the cheese bread, you are in for one of the greatest pizza joint treats of your life.
