Great pizza comparable to some of the best I’ve had in Manhattan and elsewhere. Eggplant parmigiana dinner with a pasta and bread is also good and enough for two — a Shelter Island Best Buy. Very friendly ‘pizza joint’ atmosphere.

Here is my rundown on Bella Vita. The pizza is alright. Not the best but good enough if you are on the Island for the summer. You probably have had much better pizza elsewhere. The pizza is kind of greasy not the best tasting pizza. It will do the job if you need to feed a lot of people. I would do take out. The place is very dirty. Not very clean. They should do something about the mess. They are quite expensive. Definitely not the cheapest place on the Island. The staff is very nice and always willing to help with large orders.

The staff was great and kept me laughing while I waited for my food, and when I did get my food it was delicious. It was the best part of my family vacation, and one of the only affordable places to eat on shelter island. They even delivered to my family straight on to the beach. I would defiantly recommend stopping by and grabbing a bite to eat while you are on shelter island.
