I had the opportunity to visit Shelter Island Craft Brewery and I almost didn’t leave… They had some AMAZING tasting beers and James Hull, and his daughter were great hosts. I was able to sample all the beers and would recommend Montezuma Milk Stout, and their French Kiss! Can’t wait to go back!

If you are on Shelter Island a must place to stop. Good selection of beers and good food. Get the pretzel. Best thing on the menu. Pork sliders good too! Reasonable prices and nice atmosphere.

Great beers. The Castagna was my favorite, but also enjoyed the Nude Beach and Forbidden Fruit. Small Indoor seating area but picnic benches outside. Overall a nice experience!

This place is great. Decent prices, great food. Beer felt pretty light but I enjoyed it. Would recommend the nude beach. Most of the ingredients were locally grown. Personally felt that some of the beers could have more of a bitter bite but most of my group enjoyed the beer. Would recommend!

Not the greatest brewery. Big fan of the rest of the ones on Long Island. Don’t get me wrong this was clean but… The beers were not the greatest. Bought a groupon. 4 tasting and a growler. Walked in, saw pitchers of foam. The kegs were not working properly. Almost pure foam. The daughter of the owner looked preoccupied or not into her job. Took her about 5 min to interact with us. Only about 10 people total inside. All the other breweries I have been to, customers got to choose the beers. Apparently, she chooses the beers for us. The owner looked overwhelmed. Not interactive. I did not even bother to get the free growler.

I was not impressed with the beer at all. 2 of them tasted like you were drinking soap, 1 was way too sweet and 1 was way too hoppy. The brewery itself seemed nice but small, and the draft system looked like it was a homemade kit they bought of the Internet. The beers poured warm and foamy. Both the owner and the daughter were disengaged from the customers, they seemed preoccupied and that having customers were an inconvenience to them. I have no desire to ever go back.

Love this place. Discovered it by accident while on Shelter Island. Spoke to the owner who gave us the/his very interesting history. Charming, original. GREAT music playlist that the owner told us he created himself. Excellent beer and food. Bought glasses, growlers and a hat, we loved it so much.

They’re brewing up something good in Shelter Island… see what i did there? LOL All puns aside, this place is a welcomed addition to the area and they are cranking out some serious brews. It’s a great spot to enjoy some suds especially in their outdoor seating area. They have some bites to eat as well, of which i highly recommend the pretzel and the bacon brittle… yes you read that right. If you are nearby or just passing through you should stop by and have a beer, it’s worth it!

We heard this brewery was new so we decided to give it a shot instead of our usual greenport run. We were pleasantly surprised! Not only was the atmosphere really nice but the beer tastes just as good! Outdoor sitting and indoor seating. I was surprised they didn’t have a tasting option but I’m sure they’ll be adding that option shortly.

Beer speaks for itself — which is a relief because the servers wouldn’t. Lots of unfiltered ales that have flavorful fruit additives(e.g., plums and grapefruit). Group favorite was the Nude Beach.

A welcome addition to the island! Great small batches of beer. They brew half barrel kettles so get here early or they will be sold out! They also have snacks for all dietary needs including gluten free and vegan though not labeled as such. Come sit outside on their picnic tables on a beautiful day and enjoy your brew! The IPA is 6.5% ABV and is dark but very tasty.

Awesome little place. My girlfriend and I were biking around Shelter Island and stumbled along this little haven. Walking inside I found a great find. The brewery has several different brews, all good. Also, according to the gentleman who served us, all the ingredients are from the local area. Definitely will come back here next time I am around Shelter Island.
