Best bartender I’ve ever had and in Ny of all places. I came in from nowhere and they changed all the tvs to the nba finals. I had porgy tacos, a little light for the price but taste was good and we stayed till they closed. Recommend if u go up to green port for the day or night.

The Shipwreck bar is definitely the chillest and most fun place to day drink on the island. Awesome live music, hilarious and friendly bartenders, the best jalapeño Marg on the planet(infused tequila) and just a cool as hell vibe. Not one bit pretentious. Feels like a true beach bar. We hung out there while waiting for a table at Salt and had an awesome time. The food at Salt tasted good but it was overpriced for the portions served. $ 8 for three TINY shrimps on a Cesar salad is unacceptable. The lobster roll was also ½ the size of the much less expensive lobster rolls at Cyril’s or Lunch in Montauk. Would go back and maybe order something else more filling– but likely not seafood.

Best casual dining/date spot on the island hands down!!! The staff was amazing and friendly and knowledgeable. The drinks were delicious and large, which I appreciate. The food was cooked perfectly and creative without being pretentious. Nice sized portions as well!

Very disappointed with the customer service at this place. When trying to plan a private event they gave away the private room we wanted to rent without giving me the opportunity to send my deposit. They are extremely difficult to get a hold of and I would not recommend using them for a private event.

Everything I’ve had here is good, with the exception of the calamari, which is great. I’ve been here a handful of times, always by boat and with a reservation, have had very pleasant experiences, and will definitely be back.

We always have a nice time here. Get the Jalapeño Margarita. Highly recommend the Shaggy Dog sushi roll. I ate it as an appetizer, finished the plate and immediately wanted to order a second plate. I didn’t. But I wanted to. So good. Entrees took a very long time, which is my only complaint. If people in your group are ordering appetizers, you should get one too, or you’ll be drunk by the time dinner arrives. The bartender and waitstaff are very friendly and attentive.

What a wonderful little restaurant! Came here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. We brought my dog, Arwen, and we sat in a quiet spot right in front of the boats. My parents both had lobster rolls, which my mom deemed«the best lobster roll I’ve ever had». My aunt had a bowl of the clam chowder and loved its thickness and taste. And also said it was the best clam chowder she’d ever had. I had a black bean burger and it was amazing. The rolls and my burger came with a side salad — so fresh and crispy. There are TVs inside for sports lovers, a bar to chill at, clean and new bathrooms, and indoor and outdoor seating. Cute staff, pet friendly, great food! An awesome choice for Shelter Island.

So-so meal here. Liked the apps a lot – a sushi roll, the burrata and the mexican corn special. However, the lobster roll was really bad. I am used to more Maine style rolls, not lobster salad rolls. They did not butter the bun and it did not taste fresh. Disappointing. The bang bang chicken was 3.5 stars

My burger was charred to say the least and came on a store bought bun for $ 17. On a positive note. The oysters were delicious(involved no cooking) the calamari was cooked well, but came again with what tasted like store bought sauce. The tuna poke was delicious(again no cooking) but seriously serving food on a bed of ramen soup noodles– disgusting. When will this bougie trend end. Oh wait it did two years ago.

Back 3 weeks later– for those fabulous fresh oysters! My husband had a delicious sushi special, and liked it so much that we went back the next for lunch again! We shared an amazing appetizer that was a tower with a little fresh local Blackfish, on top of a polenta and smoked fish cake, and there were other goodies on there which I can’t recall. All I can say is that between stellar presentation and the imaginative mélange of flavors, we were pretty knocked out! Fish Tacos are good — though there is not a huge amount of fish in them, they are nonetheless filling. My husband had a soft shell crab roll, and I had a lobster roll. The lobster roll was not quite as fantastic as the first one I had the last month. Chef or line-cook forgot to butter the bun! This is actually a big deal(flavor factor) in a lobster roll. The salad and their H.M. dressing was delish, and the bite I had of the soft shell crab was tasty. ‘Husband liked the NY Style Cheesecake very much, but I did not think it was anything like NY style at all… as it was very light. They make a great Mojito, and the beer selection is terrific. Our server both days, Sam, was very good. Prices here are hefty, but we feel it is worth it. Sitting on the deck with that water view, watching the yachts pull in and out is great fun.

The real housewives of NY hang out here! Cant imagine why as there are so many good restaurants to hang at. Its hot and stuffy under the tent they seat you at!!! Tables are jammed together making it even hotter! Zero breeze and not much of a view! Not the coolest spot. Asparagus fries tough and chewy! Chipolte sauce not hot enough, bring on the chipolte!!! You get 6 to an order, and only half are edible! Lobster roll tiny tiny with huge greasy heavy dense bun. Tarragon in lobster a good flavor. Salad dressing way to sweet to pair with seafood. Too sweet period. Service excellent, hence the two stars. Zero stars for food and ambience.

Arrived early and sat at the large table overlooking the water. Highly recommend after 6 pm as the sun will be behind the building and the breeze in your face. Good appetizers — try the oysters, calamari, and definitely the fried asparagus! The fish tacos were also very good, we loved the tuna tataki. Overall a great experience. Service was very good, highly recommended. I can see a more strained service after 7 pm once full, so go early and enjoy the sunset!!!

The only reason this place is open is because there are only a few places to go on the water. Long wait and poor service, poor food quality at best.

Just had lunch was there between 2 – 4. Nice relaxing location would of gave them decent review if i haven’t over heard the wait staff of this shift making racial remarks about Chinese/Asian. I am in fact Chinese and came with a group(my girlfriends are all Asian).

Had a wonderful time at salt shelter island. I have to say that although most of the food is delicious I have to agree that the Korean BBQ«special» is terrible. Don’t get it it will ruin your experience. I let my husband get it with the advice that I heard it was terrible and it was. With that said, everything else, including the sushi is fabulous. I loved it and will definitely go back.

Excellent food. Excellent service. We went Saturday before Memorial Day week-end it was busy but not over-crowded. My wife had a Martini, I had a local brew. Food was fresh, portions were generous. Bill came to $ 100 plus tip. Highly recommend this place.

Came here on a sunday night with a group of friends. Always looking for a new spot with tasty food. Service: Very slow, tons of people working there, but none of them really appeared to be doing anything. We had to get up several times to ask for things and the place was ¾ full. We waited for 40 minutes just to get our check. The service was HORRID. Food: 3 of us had the lobster rolls. I’ve never been so disappointed in a lobster roll. The roll was all bread, which was hard, barely buttered. The lobster was not properly seasoned. I love lobster rolls and I’m not sure how they could screw this up so bad. I would have sent it back but the waitress never even came by to see if we liked our food. The 4th person got fish tacos. She said that taco bell had better tortillas and the fish was over cooked. This place needs to take a good look at their service and food execution.
