I eat at Red Lotus at least one time a week for lunch. The service is great and friendly. Usually I opt for the lunch roll special, which is a pretty good deal. Worth a look if you’re in the area. Definitely the best of the few sushi places in Shelton

I go to this place because it’s conveniently located down the block from me. Their food is decent. Definitely not the best in town. The atmosphere is very nice and so are the waiters. There aren’t too many vegan options here.

Really nice place. Their menu is fantastic, and in my opinion, one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve been to in CT. Makes me miss NYC… the owners are really nice too. This is also a fantastic place to bring the SO for Valentine’s Day. :)

Warm and friendly greeting from the owners is the start to a truly fantastic dining experience. Every dish is expertly prepared and presented. Service is impeccable, prompt and professional. Full bar service and specialty drinks are extra pluses. This is one of the best restaurants in Connecticut.

Great lunch specials on a bento box. I’ve only eaten lunch here. But you get a lot of food for a decent price for the lunch specials.

I think this place looks much more fancier in photos on Unilocal and their website than it is in reality. We came as a party of 3 for dinner on a Sunday. We were greeted and seated fine, and they brought us water and their complimentary green tea. Their Red Lotus roll which 2 members of our party ordered was good, their fish was fresh. I ordered vegetable dumplings which were very tasty and a shrimp tempura roll– I order this often at Asian restaurants and they usually put one piece of shrimp in each roll, this roll had 2 which made the roll very wide and hard to eat. I had a general tso’s chicken which was good although not spectacular, but their fried rice tasted weird. I can’t place what it was. My friend also ordered a mushroom soup which she said tasted strange. Overall I’d say this place is just average. They have mostly Japanese items on the menu but also some Chinese and Thai. Their waiters are friendly but the food and atmosphere could be improved.

Outstanding Asian fusion cuisine and great service! Jason our server was gracious and very knowledgeable. Roasted Peking Duck Sliders with homemade plum sauce to start YUM. The Japanese Miso Soup was delicious. I wouldn’t normally order green salad from the Asian fusion restaurant however you have to try the spring mix salad with their house ginger apple dressing. OMG I don’t know what is in this dressing but you can use it as a dipping sauce it’s that good. Orange Blossom Salmon with yuzu orange miso sauce grilled to perfection served with seasonal vegetables very good. I did enjoy the Hawaii Crispy Glazed Duck my only complaint is that this dish could have used a medley of vegetables other than just bok choy. Very fresh unique Asian restaurant.

This place is really nice. It’s located in a shopping center but have no fear– it’s still awesome. The décor is trendy and chic, the service is on point, and the food is delicious. I had the special crab appetizer that was amazing, followed by pieces of sashimi that were perfectly fresh and tasty. No complaints whatsoever about this experience– and I’ll definitely make it a point to come back. If your in the area and you like sushi /Asian make sure to try this place out.

Second night in a row(just to make sure last night wasn’t a fluke) and it was just as good if not better. Tonight I went with sushi which was as fresh and delicious as I would expect at the best NY sushi restaurant. My partner had the basil chicken which was excellent; light, tasty and filling. Tonight we met the owners, Larry and Nia who made us fill right at home. Kanye was behind the bar and was most pleasant and mixed a great drink(try an Orange blossom margarita). I will go out of my way to return when I’m in the area.

Food and service were very good — and priced fairly. I would definitely go back. One minor note — the ‘traditional rolls’ are a bit smaller than others on the menu. Perhaps that is noted somewhere — but I missed it. They’re also less expensive than others, just have to make sure you order enough! The slight difference in expectation vs actual portion is the only reason for docking a star. If you order the special rolls, you’ll never encounter that discrepancy. The atmosphere is impressively nice, my girlfriend(who is a tea fanatic) enjoyed the tea immensely(which is free, by the way).

Great service. Very nice atmosphere. Food was excellent. Had Crab/Advocado app and Tempura — perfect. Then Sashimi and Sushi combo that was very tasty and well presented. Highly recommend this place

Without question, the best sushi in the Shelton market. No question! While their menu mirrors other local competition, the quality is without question the right and superior choice.

I usually wait until I’m done with the meal to write a review but, oh my god, I really can’t wait. So my dad and I stopped in Connecticut for the night and saw this place on Unilocal. We decided to try it out and were instantly greeted by, what we assume, was the owner. We explained that we had never been here before and he helped us with the menu. Our waitress came quickly and I ordered the teriyaki chicken and started out with an order of tuna and salmon sashimi. The sushi took a bit but when I tell you that the tuna was red. It Was Red. This is honestly the best sushi I have ever had the pleasure of eating. I’ll update it after I’ve had my meal but this place has already won me over. Makes me want one in Maryland – UPDATE – So I just finished my meal and holy crap was it amazing. I tried a bit of my dads food too and it was one of the best general Taos I’ve ever had. This place is amazing. Simple as that.

Red lotus never disappoints. Every time I try something new I am always blown away. The staff is AMAZING as well as the gracious & kind owners. From the appetizers– sushi– hibachi, there is no better place. My husband and I drive almost 20 minutes to Red lotus even though we have multiple sushi/fusion restaurants close to us in Fairfield. Red Lotus & its entire staff deserve 5++ stars!

The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a nice ambience. Service was good when I was actually attended to. However, I don’t really understand Asian fusion restaurants. Stick to what you know. My Korea kimchi jjigae soup was completely off. The color was too pale, it suppose to have a rich red color. There was no kimchi inside, just napa cabbage. Also not very spicy at all. Tasted more like a meat broth with some spice with a couple piece of hard/chewy meat. The pork belly appetizer was poorly seasoned. It cut of pork belly but definitely wasn’t slow cooked. But most shocking… I was giving 2 pieces of pork belly with one bun. Really? You couldn’t spare one more? The sushi was average nothing spectacular. Overall, it wasn’t terrible. Everything was edible, I’ve definitely had worst. But I don’t think I would come back.

We just moved to Shelton and were looking for«our» sushi place. By the time we left, we decided Red Lotus would be that place. Friendly service from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left. I ordered: Miso soup. I could have had 5 of these they had so much flavor. Not watery like miso soups can sometimes be. Salad. The dressing tasted like it was made fresh that day and actually had small ginger pieces. The vegetables were fresh and the lettuce wasn’t iceburg. Summer roll on the specials menu. I love lots of veggies in my sushi and this fit the bill. I asked if they had an asparagus roll and they made one special for me. I ordered the spicy sriracha sauce on the side and the two went perfectly together. I highly recommend getting that sauce for all your sushi. I want to try it on an avocado roll next time. My daughter loved her miso soup and edamame and said we will come back once a week.
