The actual Chinese food is very good. Sushi not so much. Had a few meals of the menu and everything tasted good to me would go again.

I ordered take out. Moo shu chicken. I was so surprised when I got home and opened the bag and found out that there was no white rice, and no noodles, no tea bag… like you get when you dine in an Asian restaurant. I got the duck sauce, but no noodles to put it on. And 1 fortune cookie. The food tasted good, but was mostly vegetables. The chicken was good and tender, but they only throw in a handful. And it cost $ 11.00!!! for nothing but a container of veggies with a tiny bit of chicken. I will not be going back!!!

Called in an order for pick up for a simple order of a 2 roll lunch special. A Sweet potato roll and a eel Avocado roll. The women on the phone told me it would b ready within 10 minutes however it wasn’t ready until 30 minutes after my initial call. As I was sitting waiting I asked the server what the hold up was and she gave me a snotty response«saying we have a lot of deliveries». If that was the case she should have never told me it would only take 10 minutes. This place has average tasting sushi paired with bad customer service.

Very VERY rude workers and bad costumer service. I decided to order lunch from them because I knew they had a $ 6 lunch combo. I ordered Boneless spareribs with Chicken fried rice no vegetables. I work a job where I am always on the go with my clients so unfortunately I was unable to eat my food until I got home around 6. When I opened the bad I realized it was not the right food. I had not touched it, and I still had the receipt. I called them back to see if I could return it and get the right food. The lady that answered was rude and tried to get smart with me saying I ordered my food at 12 why am I just now calling. I tried to explain to her that I had stopped in on my lunch break, unfortunately I had put my food directly away and didn’t open it until now. She still was rude and questioned me. I will NEVER return there and I will NEVER recommend anybody to eat here. I had a similar experience at this same resteraunt a few weeks ago when a friend and I ate in, but I can see they never changed!!!

The service here is absolutely terrible. The time in which the food comes out is good, but the wait staff are just awful. They are not kind, they make you feel like you are inconveniencing them by being there. I do not know why I keep giving this place a chance, the food is not even worth dealing with the poor attitudes of the employees. Will not be going back.

Ordered here thinking the food was going to be based from the ratings here. Needless to say it was not. Pad Thai extremely dry. Disgusting. Sushi overpriced. Learned my lesson ordering sushi at a Chinese food take out. Prices here compare to nearby Chinese takeouts are on the high side.

Ordered a couple rolls via take out. The fish had a freezer burn taste, was cold & hard. Never again. Disgusting. No wonder the restaurant was completely empty.

HORRIBLE. I wish I could give this place negative stars. We used to order from this place all the time. And every. single. time they would mess up our order. We’ve placed multiple orders that were literally hundreds of dollars(parties etc) and when I say they’d mess up the order every time, I’m not exaggerating. To make matters worse, when you call to let them know of their mistake, you get a combative, rude and outright nasty attitude from the person that answers the phone. Instead of apologizing and correcting the error or crediting the card for the missed food(that we were charged for), the lady starts arguing with you and giving you BS excuses. Ask to talk to the manager?! Even worse. Don’t bother. We’ve tried to let it go and(stupid us) we kept ordering from them hoping we wouldn’t have issues. The convenience of being able to get both Chinese and Japanese food options delivered was nice. Unfortunately, after yet another dismal experience, we’ve had it. We will NEVER again order from here. The food is average and overpriced and the customer service is beyond atrocious.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. Period. Sure, it’s more than a strictly Chinese place now with their sushi and fusion items but I still love it solely for the Chinese cuisine. Strangely, under other ownership, when it was«House Of Tung»(By the way, I love you people) the food was very similar. They closed, renovated and came back with entirely new ownership, management and staff as «Hong Kong Tokyo». Is it identical? No. But it is definitely similar and for that I am thankful because«House Of Tung» was my favorite Chinese restaurant. By far. I spent thousands of dollars there. Happily. I live several towns away from Stratford, always have — but can’t stop eating here — I can’t get food like this anywhere else. My «test» dishes are Teriyaki beef appetizer, Hunan shrimp, fried rices and lo meins — basic dishes — but if a restaurant can’t match on those items, there’s no reason to explore any further in my opinion. Apparently, my opinion of Chinese food is not the norm because this place SHOULD be packed with people from open to close and they almost never are. They do a decent take out. But they have a nice, clean, good size dining room and it is often half or less full. Crazy to me. If you enjoy large, fresh shrimp in your meals instead of the tiny sea monkeys other places serve — that alone should have you trying this restaurant. The parking lot is shared with other places — but it’s not crazy, there are stop signs and crosswalks to make it very tolerable getting to and from the restaurant no matter how busy.

I love this restaurant for sushi and other Japanese/Chinese food. My family has been dining here for at least 6 years, since right after it opened. The Godzilla roll is definitely my favorite. We’ve had issues with service on a couple of visits, but overwhelmingly this place does a great job. Quick, relatively inexpensive, and usually pretty quiet. They’re always nice to my toddler, too!

This place is Phenomenal. Believe me I’ve never been a fan of sushi in my life until coming here. The sushi chef is legit. I recommend the shrimp tempura.

I moved to the area a few years ago and have ordered delivery from this establishment a number of times and have never been disappointed. I have tried their sashimi regular and Deluxe and the fish is fresh and nice size. This slightly expensive but worth the extra few bucks considering I trust their sashimi … The Pad Thai is decent, but the Tom Yong Gong soup is really delicious. Of course if you are in the mood for Chinese, this is also a dependable spot. When I first moved here and wanted to pick up sushi, I used to drive to fairfield… What a nice place to have right here in Stratford, and they deliver too!

Greetings potential customers: I wish I could rate the quality of the food at Hong Kong Tokyo in Stratford Connecticut, but I couldn’t get pass the reception desk, and the most unpleasant welcome. I entered cheerfully and greeted the women behind the desk, only to be ignored. I first thought perhaps she didn’t hear me. I waited to make eye contact, and again gave a cheerful«hello.» She look directly at me and responded«what can I get you.» I was out done. I politely stated«nothing thank you.» I also expressed that I spoke to her twice, and received no return greeting which I found to be unacceptable for an establishment serving food to the public. Happy eating my fellow patrons, I’m off to another establishment !

Yummy. Had soup, pork dumplings, and an order of chicken and broccoli. Split with the bf. Would totally come back here for a cheap, easy and quick meal. Décor is pleasant and the waitstaff is friendly — mostly from Fujian in China. Yet, the name… could it be more geographically vague lol! :ppp

My friend and I went here for lunch and had a lovely time, The beef with snowpeas was out of this word and the beef was so tender. My friend had beef and string beans which was great too. $ 7.00 for a lunch combo, so we got out of there for $ 10.00 each with the tip. Almost as cheap as a Mcdonald’s meal but real food. They serve white, brown or fried rice. Nice décor and and great spot for a quiet lunch. The service was great too. I can’t wait to go back.

The food here is delicious. The service is slow so keep that in mind, but our food came out very quickly and was tasty and fresh. The wonton soup is just the way I like it. For entrees, I got the chicken with mixed veggies and my mom got the beef with snow peas. Both were awesome. Definitely eat here or get some to go!

They really need to have people that take phone orders for delivery understand and Speek English fairly well… I get it but it took 10 min to place a 3 item order and had to read my debit card number 4(no kidding) times… and she was reading it out loud with people at the desk… good food quick delivery… tho…

Sushi is awesome here! We have never dined in, but have ordered delivery hundreds of times. Changed their sushi menu a couple years ago which was kind of a bummer because they took off my 2 fave rolls — Golden Dragon & A&S Kou): Overall great sushi though, & their pork fried rice is the best I’ve had in years!

It had been a while since I had been to the Hong Kong Tokyo and boy has it changed. First, there has been an obvious overhaul of the décor and dining space. Large and minimalist but with a kind of cool vibe(for a strip mall in Stratford). Dress was definitely causal and families with children are welcome. Second, the menu was more Tokyo than Hong Kong — which turned out to be a pleasant surprise for us. There is a small sushi bar and a sushi chef so we figured we would give it a try. My dinner partner had miso soup, spicy tuna roll and shrimp sushi — perfect for her tentative sushi palate. I had the sushi sashimi dinner which was beautifully presented, fresh, and enough to fill me up(miso soup, 12 pieces of sashimi, 5 pieces of sushi and a California roll). Prices were about what you pay for sushi and sashimi in this area. The service was attentive, if not perhaps a little unpolished. I would not say we were rushed but the server, polite as she was, was a little over eager. However, I will take that as opposed to disinterested and ignored service I sometimes get in places like this. I am not a sushi connoisseur but if you are in Stratford, Connecticut I would recommend Hong Kong Tokyo.
