I tried! The prices are so stiff! For a tiny cup of ice cream– one small scoop(think kiddie size) it cost 3.45. It’s a rip off! I won’t go back! So many better choices. I still don’t find them customer friendly.

We were in the mood for some copycat«Blizzard’s».as there’s no DQ in this town… well if the older guy(the owner makes it for you)… first of all he has NOPERSONALITY, NOCUSTOMERSERVICESKILLS. OK let me say it NOPEOPLESKILLSWHATSOEVER! I walked in, & had previously came across him(so I know«his personality type» & so I had hoped this time he wouldn’t be the one to take my order. but he did. so while he was taking my order/making it, I said normal things like good afternoon, how ya doing, it’s good day for some ice cream”, etc… reply. DEADSILENCE and NONORMALFACIALEXPRESSIONS from this guy!!! Nothing… not sure why he even bothers to be in a customer service oriented business? Anyway our ‘copy-cat’ Blizzard’s…uh they were ALL soup. but we only noticed this once we were down the street already AND didn’t want to speak with that weirdo again… sadly this wasn’t the first time, but we wanted to give them a fair shake. we all have bad days. BUT… Yea, I think we’re done with this place! I’d RATHER drive to another town have my ice cream done right. yes I run the risk of coming across young teens with their lack of experience and customer service. but in this case… it beats weirdo guy and soupy Blizzard’s any day of the week!

Good ice cream but i find that I’m always trying the different flavors because many have an underlying mint flavor. The mint chocolate chip must mix in with the rest from being too close or something. Good waffle cones. CASHONLY!

This is a quaint, old-style ice cream shop right in the middle of Shelton. There are very many options and cute ice cream options. Very friendly service who don’t mind if you need to take time to browse and sample. Only thing to note is they are cash only and there is not an on-site ATM.

They make their own ice. So many great flavors to choose from. All kinds of seasonal treats and great cakes.

Great ice cream. I always get the banana fudge. It is more expensive than most of the other ice cream shops however. It also does not accept credit cards, so bring cash.

Love this place! Great ice cream and friendly staff! I had a coffee crunch cone. Reallllly wish they would reconsider the cash only option but that won’t stop me from coming here when I’m in the area.

Love this place! They’ve been open over 40 years, it’s awesome! My favorite ice cream is the chocolate chip mint and the peanut butter fudge. I even bought these adorable Leprechaun ice cream hats today for St. Patty’s day. I recommend it for sure!

I love the fact that I can walk to the Ice Cream Shoppe to get HOMEMADE ice cream. Being on Weight Watchers, I can get my exercise in and use some points for an ice cream. I would love it if there was a small size(½ c.) at a lower price. I always end of asking for only one scoop but pay full price. Love, love, love the Peppermint Hot Cocoa ice cream for this season. Paying cash isn’t an issue either.

Different flavors that are all tasty. Plain vanilla is great. The people that work there are so sweet and nice. If you ask for extra sprinkles they aren’t like most places and put a little more– they hook you up right!

Great place to get homemade ice cream year round! Seasonal specials, to go items such as pints & cookie sandwiches, and the best ice cream cakes around! Heads up: they only take cash. Which, for our budget, is a good thing! Otherwise we’d be there way too often!

Won’t be back… ever! Don’t tell me I can write a check and then after I make my selections and write the check you change your mind and tell me that you can’t take my check because its from a credit union. What the heck is that about. Have been a credit union member for over 20 years and I have never heard of this before. Thanks, but no thanks.

Great ice cream close to home. When my kids were little little i always called it the ice cream shoppE making sure to pronounce the long E at the end. Now whenever we talk about going to get ice cream they always include the long E

I can’t express how much I love this place. The staff is always friendly and kind no matter how busy and running around they are. Their ice cream is made fresh everyday at the store. There are about 20 varieties that are always in stock with 2 – 4 «seasonal» flavors that rotate(I live for«Apple Pie» in the fall and«Eggnog» during the winter). They have many different styles to have your ice cream, from the regular cones & cups to mix-ins, wagon wheels, «cupcakes», on a stick and, of course, cakes. The biggest downside is that they are cash only. Also, they have very little seating(some benches on the walkway outside) so be prepared to take it home or eat it in the car. Prices are a little higher than at your chain ice cream shops(but not outrageous) but that is to be expected since they make their own ice cream(not have it trucked in).

This is a great local ice cream shop that actually makes it own product. There are many flavors and styles to choose from, and a good range of price points. There is pretty much no seating to speak of, so plan to bring it home or eat it on the way home. A good place for a tasty treat for all.
