I’ve been here a few times now, and I’m officially a fan. The service is fantastic, with friendly waitstaff and attentive bussers. The servers are always willing to answer questions and were knowledgeable about the menu. The coffee is good, the eggs florentine is literally to die for… everything about this place is cute and homey. They even have fresh options for special diets and ‘healthy’ options(though I’ve never looked at those, haha). Definitely love this place and happy I live so close. Parking can be a challenge. The lot is small, so if there’s nothing there you have to fight for metered parking on Ventura. The prices are also slightly more than what I’d like to pay, but the quality of the food is good so I would say very much worth it.

For all you sun loving, valley dwelling BB’s: consider this your warning. If you sit in the patio, the staff will forget you exist. You will be Jennifer Aniston and they will be Brad Pitt. Trust me on this. I had to get up to ask them to take our drink orders, get up to ask them to take our food order, get up to ask them for the check and get up for them to take my money. Based on that alone, I’ll pass on this place moving forward. I mean, if I wanted to do all the work, I’d have had breakfast at home. Ironically, their banner reads«better than breakfast in bed»… needless to say, I beg to differ. As for the food — love that they have healthy, vegan and gluten free options but do all those things mean that food musn’t have flavor? Geez… hate to say it but I’d summarize the food with one word: bland. Incredibly underwhelming food for a place with such an overwhelming menu. I had the Italian sandwich and while the ingredients were fresh and wholesome, there was just an overall lack of distinction. My sister had the Desperado and though it was more flavorful, it was not showstopping in any way. The pico de gallo looked old, the tomatoes and onions were soft and unappealing. The green salsa thing was also unappealing and resembled(in taste, texture and appearance) leftover juicing pulp. I was not impressed with the unmelted cheddar that was sprinkled across the burrito either. I will say that the staff did address their poor customer service and offered a small discount which they admitted was totally warranted but even with that in mind, I think this was a first and last experience at Jinky’s for me.

Food and service were good. The hostess was not friendly but our server was great! Will be back to try the chili!

This was pretty much a ‘bad’ experience! And, the food made me sick. I asked for breve’ and they brought me a bowl of single servings of half& half. I ordered eggs, veggie sausage and hash browns. The hash browns were awful. Cold, hard and nasty. The eggs were cold. I had the worst waiter I have ever had. He came to the door and rather than step over to my table he simply gave me a thumbs up. I told him the hash browns were awful, rather than re-make them. He gave the the option of a fruit bowl or tarot tots. OMG, he could have at least asked me why they were bad. Truthfully he was rude and on non-attentive. Needs to go ahead and get famous so he can be the star he thinks he should be. The saving grace. I loved the eggs, and even old they were scrambled to perfection. And, the coffee was good. The veggie sausage was morning star, so okay. I didn’t care for the experience. I likely won’t go back. I wish I could have had a better experience. I have wanted to go there for.

Tried the«jinkys favorite» and it was delicious! Plenty of parking on the street behind the restaurant. Great service and delicious food!

Their food is great, I had Buffalo wings and a Chicken salad accompanied by a few Mimosas on Super Bowl evening. Sat at the bar, Leslie provided fantastic service. Will be back.

Another no-frills breakfast spot to check off my list. My only gripe about Jinky’s is their price. Other than that, the breakfast is really decent. Being on Ventura Blvd, I am sure you can charge $ 8 for one red velvet pancake. The service and food was good. Coffee was good as well. Breakfast spots should always serve up a good cup of Joe! Jinky’s did. The menu is stocked full of breakfast and lunch goodies. You won’t be disappointed. Yes, we even ordered the $ 8 single Red Velvet pancake which was good. Find parking on street or use their small lot. Credit card ok.

Though I didn’t order the mimosas, my friends said they tasted soapy. I got the damage den scramble and it was decent. Server was very friendly. Side note, vegetarian sausage is amazing.

Brand. New. Menus! I stopped in for breakfast and was greeted by several different workers over the next 20 minutes. There was perhaps some confusion as to who we were supposed to have as our server. Whatever. The thing that caught my eye was the new menus. I recall the giant, large, elephant-ear menus from before, and to see these new ones, was a relief. They are slim, pared-down, but still have tons of info. Read more like a tablet. The physical place seems the same as before, maybe a bit brigher. Certainly the bathroom off the main entrance door looked much improved. Our food was good, hearty and took almost no time to bring out once we ordered. Starting with the coffee in a carafe, I was set for awhile. My companion favored Hot Chocolate on this chilly, rainy day. He loved it. Though we later learned it was Hershey’s syrup, it was how they did it. It came out creamy and smooth and had marshmellows seemingly built in.(We opted our of the whipped cream). The omelettes. They now have a Small and Large size. Depending on your mood and hunger and which one you get, the Large may mean you’ve got leftovers… or maybe not. I had the Healthy Green which had, believe it or not, a lot of green veggies! Chopped spinach, broccoli, diced zucchini, chopped scallions, asparagus, feta cheese topped with avocado and swiss cheese. I opted out of the feta, swapped Swiss for provolone, and called it an Omelet. Choice of bread, and potatoes or fruit, et al. Fruit was good, albeit pineapple-heavy. The Jinky’s Favorite(choice of gourmet sausage, tomatoes, diced onions, garlic and provolone cheese) was a winner, too. They have so many sausage choices, as usual, so just pick one. Chicken/apple this time. The Ketchup is now labeled Jinky’s and is cute. Staff is uniformly friendly and helpful. The prices do seem to have jumped a bit, however, you can’t begrudge them too much, IMO. They’re using quality ingredients, and quite possibly, are even paying their very able staff. A fair trade, I’d say.

Favorite breakfast spot! Everyone is so friendly. Took my family out on Christmas Eve, was seated fast, food came out fast, and excellent service. Highly recommend

This is a good breakfast spot. I had the Eggs Benedict(minus the ham). The house latte is always good: it comes with whipped cream & cinnamon on top. It does get crowded on the weekends so prepare to wait 15 – 20 minutes. Dog-lovers, you can bring your pets and sit with them outside. The service is always good & the food comes fast.

My recent visit wasn’t as nice as I had hoped. I was there with a small group of people. The waitress meant well, but she became annoying. She kept telling us that she could get us add-on’s or sides. The red velvet pancakes were not the best. There were chocolate chips in them. I hadn’t ordered the chocolate chips. The side of eggs wasn’t bad. They had chairs lined up against the wall in the section we were sitting in. They had a group of people sit on the side chairs and wait. I’m assuming that they were waiting for us to leave. It felt a little uncomfortable– as if they were watching us. Not sure if we’ll go back.

My friend has been trying to take me here for over a year. This morning we finally made it. She absolutely loves the pumpkin pancakes with the marmalade and gets its almost every time(or so I’m told). Service was very fast. As soon as we sat down they were asking for our drink order. Almost immediately after we ordered our food it was out and ready for us to eat. The menu is fairly large and the prices aren’t too bad. I wound up getting the Eggs Benedict with bacon instead of ham. It was good. Lots of hollendaise sauce. The eggs were cooked perfectly. I tried a bite of my friend’s pumpkin pancakes and they were delicious. Definitely a cute breakfast place and convenient so I’d come back.

4 stars for breakfast. 1 – 2 stars for lunch/dinner. DINNER? yeah i actually tried a chopped salad here for dinner one night. lettuce was mainly iceberg and toppings were canned/not fresh. dressing was not house-made. i dunno, you see this all the time — breakfast spots that overextend themselves with a savory lunch/dinner menu. STOPSERVINGLUNCHANDDINNER, HOSS! you’re not helping your community. just be open from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. and serve breakfast/brunch. focus on what you do best. the pancakes, breakfast burrito and iced green tea here make me happy. parking lot is super-tight unless you’re here first thing in the morning. avail street and neighborhood parking is ok, again… depending on the time of day. if you’re in the neighborhood INTHE A.M., this place is cool.

Are you a man, in Sherman Oaks, wanting to date a healthy eating yogi? Does this yogi tell you she’s too busy and can’t meet with you because she has yoga class? Jinky’s is your answer. It’s .3 miles away from Corepower yoga, is open 7:30AM-9PM daily, and has healthy options. Recommend the simple but delicious Healthy scramble — it has TOFU! Ask for Sriracha and she will be impressed. I am passing on knowledge my then acquaintance and now husband imparted onto me.

Visited and was disappointed by inattentive service didn’t check in with us, empty water cup that was eventually filled by a different waiter, had to bring them my bill because they forgot to take it. The menu is inflexible can’t order a single pancake had to get two. The French toast was flavorless, the extra berry topping was frozen not fresh. There are so many food options in LA they’d do better to pair down the large menu and just do a few items really well.

I’ve eaten at Jinky’s a few times over the years. It’s not exactly my go-to breakfast place in Sherman Oaks, but it’s a pretty decent option. I almost always order the Sierra Mountain breakfast, which comes with eggs, sausage or bacon, and pancakes(which you can sub out for something else). I love getting the pancakes, though — they’re insanely huge, light and fluffy! I also like the French toast, but the crepes are straight up weird!!! They put sour cream in their crepes, which just doesn’t bode well for the dish because it ends up being super tart! They have tons of varieties of homemade sausage, which is really nice. I recommend the chicken apple sausage, as it’s a nice combination of both sweet and savory. I don’t know how it’s possible, but they always make my eggs really gross here. I almost always get them scrambled, and for some odd reason they always coming out tasting more yolk-based than anything else. Perhaps they are reserving the egg whites for another dish?! Whatever the reason, the eggs are disgusting… especially when I just want to taste the components of a whole egg! I don’t think that’s too much to ask. Their iced coffees are also just okay, but too powdery and sweet for my personal liking. Overall, Jinky’s is still a decent option, but it isn’t a top one by any means. Some of the food is mediocre and some is above average at best, but nothing is mind-blowing.

Been here many times either for work or pleasure and I’ve never been disappointed. The food selection is great and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The banana pancakes, protein salad, and chicken crisp salads are amazing. The parking lot is very small so carpool if you can.
