Solid sandwiches at this place with a friendly staff if you decide to stop by to dine or order. Most often I’ll order through Unilocal and have it delivered to my office and they’re usually pretty good at delivering your food timely. For the area, this is easily the best sandwich shop. They use quality ingredients though the bread is a little inconsistent. For all the sandwiches I’ve ordered, it’s always been served on a sesame loaf. Some days it’s really good and other days it’s pretty average, but it’s never bad. The inner workings of the sandwich, from the veggies to the sauce are always portioned properly. They don’t skimp on the quantity or the quality which is great. Most of the time I’ll switch between the Super Italian or the Pastrami depending on how I feel that day and I’m usually pretty satisfied with my sandwich. And I believe all sandwiches are served with a deli style pickle. Bottom line: good food, good service, good prices. It’s a winner in my book.

I like there sandwiches here. I’ve tried several of them, cold cut, Italian, pastrami, meatball, roast beef, turkey, capocollo(gabagool) and a few others. The bread is always nice and soft and the meat is always fresh. I am a fan. Although there might be some better sandwich places out there, the service is always friendly, consistent and good. The place is clean and more importantly, the sandwiches are good.

I’ve been coming here for years and it’s my go to place for Sub sandwiches. There are a few things I don’t care for the mayo dressing mixture is a bit lacking for flavor I usually add hot green peppers to it and if taking it home I will add a few more spices for flavor, which honestly I shouldn’t have to do. The bread is soft as pointed out by a previous reviewer and that’s usually a personal preference some people like a harder roll others prefer the softer variety, I can lean either way. The best sandwich in my opinion here is the Super Italian Cold Cuts Sub tremendous variety of meats and plenty of flavor. Least favorite is the ham sandwich and the turkey, the turkey is okay just a little underwhelming in the flavor category. The Philly Cheese Steak is also recommended as is the Peppered Turkey Breast sandwich. In closing the place offers a good value for the money the parking is a bit rough, there are only a few free parking space and the lot is a $ 1.00 to park although to be honest I’ve never paid, perhaps I’ve just been lucky for not getting a ticket to this point but it may have to do with the fact I usually only eat there on Saturdays.

For a sub place to be compared to Subway or Quizno’s, even by analogy, is a bad thing(a few Unilocal reviews make a parallel). Though they make the sandwiches one at a time, not on an assembly line, there is nothing special or quality about these sandwiches. It’s next to the 405 entrance, so it’s a pretty tough location to get into for a quick sandwich. My 12″ Ham Sandwich had really soft bread(plus), but the meat tasted pretty low quality(negative). When you order your sandwich to-go, they wrap it in foil. When you unwrap it and eat it, the Italian dressing makes the bread really damp, which wasn’t such a good thing. Sandwiches come with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickle, Italian«sauce,» and cheese. Nice and helpful staff.

I go here every once in a while for lunch. The staff is friendly and the sandwiches are delicious. I have never been disappointed with my sandwich from Steve’s. You won’t go wrong at Steve’s. Also very telling is that the same people have been working there for years.

It was a good sub I had here for lunch. Leaps and bounds ahead of the curve for subway and quiznos. I’ll keep it in mind when I’m in the area.

For me steves bigger subs is just like subway but better. It’s very Lowkey and not too busy but the service there is great they really put time in your order and have everything fresh there. It’s quick and easy and not as busy as the common subway sandwich

15 bucks down the trash. The meat is thickly cut, not deli thin, it’s gross when you bite into it. I’m desperately trying to find a good sub place in Sherman oaks! Argh!

Im from Philadelphia which is pretty much the home of Subs and Hoagies. I discovered Steve’s about 2 months ago and their subs are delicious! I don’t know where they get their rolls from but they are soft and chewy just like back in Philly. The meats and cheeses are good, their delivery is fast and the staff is friendly and never mess up my order. If your looking for a great sandwich I would recommend Steve’s to you.

You could go to subway and get a yoga mat sandwich with mystery meat inside for around 7 bucks. OR You could go to whole foods and get a sorry excuse for a sandwich with kale and juniper berries and tears from a young homeless child for 10 bucks. OR You can go to this joint, support a small business and get a proper sandwich. The bread is always soft, the meat is real, veggies are fresh and it tastes great. All for around 6 – 8 bucks

2014 Unilocal365CHALLENGE — 308⁄365 Went here for the first time the other day with my supervisor. I’m pretty used to trying new sandwich places since my boyfriend is a sort of sandwich connoisseur, even though I’m not a big sandwich person myself. Parking available behind the building, and street parking out front. It’s located at a busy intersection on Sepulveda Blvd, right next to where the 405 and 101 intersect. Super busy! The place is pretty small, and has some bar stool seating and a few tables against the wall. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall sandwich place. We went around 3pm and it wasn’t that busy. The people there were pretty friendly and we waited less than 5 minutes to get our sandwiches. Seemed like almost all of the sandwiches were the same price. I got the #1 — Turkey Breast sandwich, 8 inches for $ 5.75. They also have $ 12 inch sandwiches but I didn’t bother to look at those prices. I was surprised by how large and fluffy the bread was. It was MASSIVE compared to the fillings inside the sandwich. Overall I thought my sandwich was pretty decent, but nothing stood out to me in terms of flavor. Not sure if I will be back, unless a coworker of mine wants to go since we work nearby. 3 stars.

Thank you Annie Y(not to be confused with the much eviler version) and others for recommending this place! There’s a reason this place has such great reviews, it’s awesome! Its good to know a genuine submarine sandwich place still exists in LA! While Subway, Quizno’s and others have become synonymous with sub sandwiches, Steve’s is a true sub! A 12″ sandwich, chips and drink for under $ 10 bucks! Like the rug in the dude’s apartment, the bread really pulls the sandwich together! It’s so soft and delicious! I’ve only had the mesquite turkey sandwich but I highly recommend it! The only caveat to this amazing sandwich place is parking isn’t great. They have ONE spot in the back. There’s an entire parking lot behind the building but somehow the city of Los Angeles has turned it into a pay parking lot(grrrrr)! So bring a dollar in quarters with you :)

Holy crap. There are a bunch of great places in the Sherman Oaks/Studio City/Encjno area, but I am officially announcing Steve’s Bigger Subs as THE best kept secret! First of all, the price. I dare you to name one place in this area where you can order a big sandwich for *under* $ 5.00. Second, delicious! I haven’t tried anything other than the Pastrami sub(yum!) and the Super Philly(double yum!) because I loved them so much. My ever picky fiancé swears by their cheesesteak. Third, the bread. So soft and so goooood. One million times better than Subway. Fourth, the service. They’re not overly bubbly, but they are very nice. Not only are they open to customizing your sub, they’ve also gotten my order right every.single.time! Fifth, online ordering. Maybe this isn’t a big deal to most people, but this places gets INSANELY busy at lunch during the week, so it’s pretty awesome to skip the wait by getting it done online and then pick it up. Cons: parking. There’s plentiful parking in the back, but you’ll need to pay. Bottom line: Steve’s Bigger Subs is THE place to grab a quick lunch that is delicious and fast. It just so happens that the price is very nice as well!
