CKO Kickboxing

I have been to many gyms and tried new trainers and CKO is the real deal. I firmly believe this is the best and most fun cardio you will experience.
The owners are awesome; way they care about your fitness success but still find a way to make it fun for their clients. I highly recommend trying out CKO.

My first experience with CKO Kickboxing in Shoreline was when I signed up for their 10-​week challenge program. That began my addiction to this gym and helped me shed 35 pounds. This place is seriously fun and a heavy duty workout. The owners Jessica and Garett are amazing and really care about their clients; the trainers are all top notch and deliver something different in each class. I have made so many new and wonderful friends through this gym. At 55 years of age, I am in better shape than I was at 25 years old. I feel strong and powerful and always look forward to each class. If you have every wanted to try kickboxing, just do it! You will not regret it.

Attended a class recently for the first time. I won’t lie, it was tough but only because I’m so out of shape and it was my first time. I’m looking forward to attending another class.

Jessica is an amazing trainer, she’s the reason why I started my weightloss journey. From all the reviews here I’m certain that this place is a 5 Star.

I was looking for a workout that would be challenging and I found it. I’ve attended 3 classes so far with 3 instructors and each one was unique and pushed me. It reminds me of the personal training sessions I did at my old gym but kicked up a notch (a really big notch) and the access to classes means I can afford to do it everyday instead of once every week or two. The format has been working for me because you work to your level, that makes it great for beginners and more experienced participants. All the reviews say how everyone is supportive and encouraging, its absolutely true. I think I found a great next level fitness experience at CKO. It’s a terrific overall workout.

Awesome work out and awesome instructors. Totally love it. The 1 hr class goes by like 20 min. Serious. Blessed to have found such an awesome place.

I have been a member for almost two years. This gym has worked out very well for me. I love that there is designated class times. This makes me plan my work out and accomplish it. When I have belonged to other gyms that had an open door policy I never went or when I did go I only stayed for maybe 30 minutes. CKO has amazing trainers who know how to push you. They help motivate me. Since joining I have lost over 30 lbs and gone down several sizes.

CKO is a great kickboxing studio. The instructors emphasize form first, which is a priority to me as a physical therapist. The space is very clean and is always comfortable when I go. Their systems are set and solid so you can check in quickly, manage your membership, and receive communication from the facility so you always know what’s going on. I love working out to music and they pump it! The instructors are coaching through the entire workout and their verbal encouragement also helps me finish the workouts strong. I also love that they focus on the mental side of personal wellness and strength. They really just want you to start your trek to a healthy lifestyle and then stay on it, no matter where you are on your journey.

CKO is far and away the best gym I’ve ever belonged to. It’s more than a gym — it’s more like a family. Dedicated, motivating and consistent trainers who actually care about each and every member. Other members who positively support the health and well-​being of everyone at CKO. And it’s a killer workout. Coming from an endurance runner who needs a tough workout to feel exhausted, that’s saying something ;) I willingly drive out of my way everyday to make it to CKO, and I couldn’t be happier about it. Garett and Jessica have one of the best gyms in the Seattle area. Join us!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about CKO. Great workout! Great owners and instructors! And the best sense of community I have ever experienced from a gym. I miss it when life gets in the way and have many members I now consider friends! Try it!

Granted this is my very first time trying kickboxing but I had an incredible experience. The front desk person knew who I was when I walked in and showed me around the facility. I met with the instructor Tom who gave me a private lesson prior to class. He was very friendly and followed up with me after class as did the front desk person. The facility is clean. Overall, I had a really great time meeting the staff and some of the members of the gym. I would definitely come again and sign up when I can commit more time to this practice. Thank you for such a positive experience and level of customer service is unparalleled. As a side note, I think this is a great workout for all fitness levels.

CKO is an Amazing — Rocking place! It’s not just about a finding a gym to lose weight, it’s about finding a community of like minded individuals who strive for a healthy lifestyle for the long haul.
It can seem intimidating and so I tried a free trial class with a friend. After getting a few lessons, class started and I knew immediately this place was something special. There were people of all shapes, sizes and levels. Jessica, trainer and owner brought so much energy, excitement and motivation to the class that the hour went by quickly! There was no judgement to be found because everyone was focused on their bag and getting their workout in.
I’ve been a member for only a month and it has already been life changing. I am 2 weeks into their 10 week challenge that Jessica and her husband/​owner Garett put together and have made significant accomplishments. The biggest one of which my diabetes is finally getting under control and have decreased my insulin dosage. I am surrounded and supported by some incredible talented motivating trainers not to mention that I’ve met some of the most positive supportive members.
I highly recommend you try a free class and have no doubt in my mind that you will become hooked!

I have been going here about 18 months. It has added to my life greatly. The physical feats I am accomplishing, that I had no idea i could. The community I am becoming a part of, which was also a goal. Seattle has a freeze, and CKO brings it too it’s knees. So come be a part of something that will push you physically, and mentally… because isn’t that really what you’re looking for Gainz!

Great gym with fantastic instructors! The instructors encourage you to go at your own pace and are willing to answer any questions you might have. It is a full body workout that is great for anybody who is trying to lose weight or just keep active! One of the aspects that got me addicted was the atmosphere there, everybody around you is extremely nice and encouraging!

CKO is legit. I didn’t really know what to expect but there’s no harm in taking a free trial class, am I rite? If you’re looking for something new, I would definitely recommend CKO. I also bought 2 classes for $ 20. They have several different options for membership and random promotions so call to find out more. Their website needs work lol.

1.) High intensity: combination of strength training, cardio, and kickboxing.
2.) What you get: an increase in stability and stamina. Complete total body workout!
3.) Amazing stress release: channel that energy into the punching bag, picture someone you dislike heheh: p
4.) Switch up your gym routine: it’s always good to incorporate different workouts. You want results or nah?
5.) Josh is such a great instructor! Really positive, encouraging, and motivating. None of that boot camp/​screaming ish. They push you to test your limits but never make you feel like shit.
6.) SWEATIN OUT MY BLOWOUT.

This is going to be a hard review to write, not because it’s going to be a bad one, but because I don’t even know where to start with all the AMAZING things I have to say about CKO. I might even tear up a little bit. Seriously. I think I’m so tough now but I’m really a wuss.
Whatever the «Kool-​Aid» is, I think I’ve drunk it. It just tastes so damn good! I’ve been a member for about two years now, and my addiction to this place just keeps getting stronger. I never thought I’d say this, but I LOVE MY GYM.
First of all, the base of CKO is of course the great kickboxing workouts. They’re a high-​intensity mix of serious cardio and some strength training (push ups, sit ups, squats, etc). Nothing feels better after a long, stressful day than to beat up a heavy bag and to get a good sweat on. It’s a full body workout that will challenge you for sure, but they’re accessible to almost anyone. If you can’t quite do the whole workout the first time, you WILL be able to with consistent attendance and effort. All the instructors are knowledgeable, motivating, and inspiring, and will always encourage you to modify when you need to.
The community aspect and culture at CKO is absolutely incredible. The owners, Jessica and Garett, are a constant presence and very approachable. They are not in this business for the money, they are in it to change lives, which they do on a daily basis. They care about your health and well-​being, and are absolute healthy lifestyle role models to me. My gym-​mates are a wide assortment of incredible people from all walks of life. They are equally inspiring, and I’m proud to be associated with them.
Another thing that keeps me coming to CKO are the near-​constant opportunities to participate in challenges or sign up for extra support to help me reach my fitness goals. The «ten-​week challenge» I took this fall absolutely changed my life. They helped me change my nutrition, which was pretty awful, and with the extra boot camps and personal training sessions, I lost 12 inches and 8 pounds! I finally feel like I’m on the right track to being my best self. I also LOVE my weekly «mitt sessions» with Robert Rivera — if you want to feel like a true bad-​ass, go one-​on-​one with Robert for an amazing workout and serious boxing skills improvement.
Another recent challenge was the «40 in 40» challenge (to be active for at least one hour every day for 40 days), and the «Cinco» (five classes in one day!), which I completed yesterday. I think I’m still on a little high from doing the Cinco — so proud of myself and the progress I’ve made since being at CKO — I was in «ok shape» when I signed up, but this is a whole new level for me. I can’t wait to continue on my fitness journey with CKO and see what new barriers I can break.

This is a good gym and a good workout. You will work hard. The owners and trainers are good people and it can be a lot of fun.

It’s not the gym for me.
The workout is terrible for the arthritic inflammation in my hands.
The trainers often motivate with «body talk». They talk about that beach body and how great it will be to show it off. I don’t find it motivating, I find it offensive. Making your fitness about the perception of others and placing self value in your appearance is not an attitude I appreciate. I think it’s harmful and I can’t look past it.
Even with a long term contract, it’s very expensive for what you get. You get to go to kickboxing classes. That’s it. Your work schedule doesn’t work with the class schedule? You’re not working out there today.
I can’t handle the number of people in an afternoon class.
My 3 stars isn’t a hard judgement of the gym, people, or model, it’s just my review of this gym for me. It’s not for me. It might be awesome for you. Take a free class, but don’t sign anything afterwards. Wait a day or two. All gyms give out free kool-​aid, you just have to make sure you don’t mind the taste.

Prior to joining, I was going to yoga on a regular basis, and although I was feeling blissed out and limber, I wasn’t getting fit. I did my best research for things that I might enjoy doing and would help drop the inches.
So after the first class, I was hooked. I was shaking from head-​to-​toe from the energy I just exerted, and wasn’t sure how I was going to get out of my car, but I was hooked. To quote Legally Blonde, «Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands, they just don’t.» I will testify that I am a much happier person after working out! Ask my husband! ;-)
Almost a year later, I am still going strong. I’ve lost inches, gained muscle, and have a newfound appreciation for what my body can do. This place is a bit more expensive than your typical gym, but guess what, you’ll actually GO here, instead of paying for a gym membership that you might use a few times before quitting.

I absolutely love this place!
I had been a member of a regular gym for years, yet barely ever utilized my membership because I was never motivated or excited to go, the people working were never friendly or welcoming, and it was just boring to me.
This is not the case with CKO, this is more then a gym. CKO has a total family atmosphere. The instructors and members welcome and greet you from the moment you walk in the door. The people here care about your well-​being and push you to do the best that you can do, not the best someone else can. Everyone there helps to inspire you to continue to reach your own personal goals. It’s the best full body workout I’ve ever had. The classes are intense, but the positive attidudes everyone has and words of encouragement make it so much easier to get through.
I am always motivated by everyone there to go and to continue to go. You could even call it an addiction. I even drive about 20 min just to get to there, you wouldn’t catch me doing that with my old gym, I barely made it there and it was only 5 min from me before.
I highly recommend anyone and everyone to at least try the FREE trial class CKO offers. No matter what fitness level you are at, or how old you are this is a great place for everyone. I encourage you to challenge yourself to try something new, and you will fall in love with it the same way I did.
