Obsessed with most things in this place, but it seems like everything costs about 15% more than you wish it was. So I don’t come by as often as I might otherwise — HomeGoods feels similar quality at a more reasonable price. For some reason, I just feel weird paying $ 600 for a mini love seat here at Pier 1, but I’ve definitely through down a few hundo for some nice new home furnishings. Wall art over $ 100, $ 40 pillows, fake potted plants, etc. It isn’t cheap, but if you can get over that, the selection is pretty solid. Definitely a much larger selection then you would find at other discount stores. Lots of styles to choose from, colors, patterns, themes, etc. Outdoor furniture, kitchenware, living room décor, and more. Can’t usually get through here without buying something. Staff is pretty helpful. Lots of big and small pieces — not sure I’d try to tackle a visit with small kids, but definitely worth a look at least seasonally. Clean and organized, easy access off Aurora and lots of parking out front. Never been too busy.

My husband and I visited this Pier 1 as we are owners of a new home and wanted to get some decorating ideas. We are more focused on furniture than accents but I forgot that Pier1 is mostly focused on accents. This location is in the Aurora Village which is an odd ‘shopping’ center which has a Sears as well as Marshalls and Pier1. The store itself is about the same size as any other Pier1 I have been to but things just felt really cluttered when we went in. There was no one in the parking lot(or store) and so it was a bit awkward to stroll through while being watched by the cashier. Overall, they still have some interesting/cute products but I think my taste has changed and it might not be the right store for me any longer.

We got our bar stools from here. Actually we bought two out of three stools. The nice sales associate called another location to reserve one when the rest of theirs were scratched and gave us 10% off for the problem. Some of their things are overly busy but you can find some decent things. Good prices on stemware and serving dishes. I’m hooked on their scented sprays and reed diffusers. Ginger peach and any of their baked good aromas… seriously they make our home smell amazing. I agree with one of the reviews. Some of the aisles are overcrowded so take care not to knock things over if you carry a messenger bag or a large purse. Parking is plentiful and they have sales often. Check the walls for clearance items — I’ve found some interesting finds while browsing.

I’m one of those people who gets places like Pier 1 and Cost Plus mixed up. I hadn’t been to either store in a very long time, but was on a quest for placemats(go figure) and Pier 1 came up as a great source in a Google search. I went to the store in Shoreline this morning and it was like walking into a knick knack bazaar – in a good way. The store is a fairly small space, but it is well-stocked. Note to self: next time bring a small purse so you don’t have to worry about bumping into things. I love the selection of candles and scented oils, including nice containers to display them. In addition, there is a ton of glassware – all different kinds and at prices MUCH better than what you’d find at Crate & Barrel or Williams Sonoma, The table runners and placemats are extremely well-priced, and they even manage to have a fair amout of furniture and throw pillows. In addition to placemats, I got a friend a wonderful birthday gift – a zebra tote with zebra-themed items: bubble bath, nail file, loofah, commuter cup. Pier 1 is definitely a fav of mine: equally fitting for when you know what you want and when you don’t.

It’s places like Pier 1 that I WANT to hate, but when I walk in, and see shelves of deals, buckets of cute knickknacks, and more reed diffusers and candles than you can shake a stick at, I go weak in the knees! I hadn’t been in YEARS but a neighbor got us a wonderful smelling reed diffuser from here, and after searching high and low, I could not find one that smelled as good as that one. So I pull up, start my sniffing adventure, and a few minutes later I locate the smell of choice(fresh fig, if you want to know how I roll). They also had stemless wine glasses on sale for $ 1! And yes, they were glass, not plastic! I picked myself up a couple of those, too(and I think I’m stopping here this weekend to pick up a few more). Minus one star for making me feel a little guilty. It’s not a local or small business. ‘Nuff said.
