Grease Monkey

It was a super busy day but they squeezed me in… Not only did they change the oil but they also checked my tires (my low tire sensor was on) and vacuumed the front and back floor mats! Great service.

I *love* being a girl and walking in to a place like this to get my oil changed. Was told some other fluids were bad and brought samples to show me, along with brand new fluids for comparison. One of the samples from my car had the tech’s thumb print in it, so of course it looked dirty. Was told my fluids weren’t clear, so they needed to be changed. Of course they’re not clear, I drive my car and the fluids have been in there for more than 100 miles. Then I asked for them to do a brake inspection. They told me they couldn’t get my wheels off (how to you do brake changes then?!?), but they looked with a flashlight and the pads still had some life in them. Thanks jackass, but I already did that at home, could tell the pads were fine, but wanted to know what the horrible noise was, which is what I asked them to check out. What I was told would be a 45 wait time, turned in to a 2 hour circus. The only reason I don’t change my own oil is because I can’t where I live due to HOA crap. People, take your car elsewhere!

Got so ripped off. 120 for an oil change. Opted for synthetic but still… Was done in 10 minutes. Really??? I’m good. No mas here.

Came in today to get my fuel filter replaced. BIG MISTAKE! After an hour, the manager said they completed the task and I paid the 60 dollars. When I got home, I checked their work only to find out that NOTHING WAS DONE. The OEM filter from Toyota was still on and I know they don’t use OEM replacement filters. Called the manager and he said that the filter WAS replaced! Took the car back to their «shop» and immediately the manager comes over and apologizes saying the technician did not replace the filter. These guys are thieves and will take your money. What a joke! Stay away from this place as I’m sure I’m not the only one they’ve done this too… I’m sure they’ve gotten away with robbing the public by performing SERVICES THAT WERE NOT RENDERED!

The technicians and manager here provide exemplary customer service. Always friendly, knowledgeable and efficient with their work. I trust no one else in this area to change my oil and gladly refer all my friends to come here as well. Been going here since location opened. It is in a convenient spot. First year or two they were great. Since then — crew turns over every 6 months or so. Not planning to return. On July 3, 2015, arrived at about 1PM in our 2013 Honda Pilot. One car was in the bay being serviced. Took about 5 minutes for a crew member to yell «going to be about 45 minutes, that okay?» A few minutes later another car pulls up for service. A car pulls into lot and two Grease Monkey crew members get out with several boxes of pizza. One is yelling «I don’t want to be here today!» He then runs back and forth several times to back of Jersey’s (Sports Bar next door.) I see him go to my car, open door get in, then walk away Meanwhile the car that arrived after me was brought in and crew went to work on it. I watch and wonder why. I walk outside and notice he has turned power on in my car, but engine not running and has air blowing with all windows down. Great way to kill a battery. He sees me going to my car and says «your next boss.» I let him know i was there before the car they are working on and he starts laughing and yelling. Went to Jiffy Lube. Will be going there from now on. Grease Monkey — you need to hire much better!!!

They were attentive since we were the only customer there that morning. Five dudes working on one car getting a oil change and bought us on changing the air condition filter thing. The process was fast, we paid and out the door we went. Why only 3 stars. could have gave them 2 stars but oh what the heck… they left something on the passenger floor and it turns out to be a piece that has to do with the glove department box. I notified one of the guys and he tried fixing it. Seems like it was simple just to fix but nope, he just kept jamming and banging the the lid… YEAP! my glove department box is stupid now and wont shut. Thank you for trying!

I had my oil changed and they tried to sell me a flush, which I did not buy. I live in a place where if your car drips oil in your reserved parking space, they charge you $ 200 when you move out. After I had my oil changed at Shoreline Grease Monkey, there were immediately oil stains in my previously spotless reserved parking spot. I took it to Les Schwab who asked if I’d recently had my oil changed b/​c the oil filter was dripping with oil and they did not tighten it. Grease Monkey told me at the time I had a small leak which two other mechanics denied. After things were properly tightened, no more oil leak. I spent 254 (parking space and mechanic to fix oil filter) for this oil change. This is money I never would have had to spend if I’d gone elsewhere. Grease Monkey did refund the cost of the oil change and said they would clean my parking space, but to date they have not cleaned the parking space. Grease Monkey keeps deleting my review. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau, Consumer Protection Agency and am suing them in small claims. They are a dishonest company and I’d steer clear. Much better companies to get your oil changed.

I needed an oil change and thought I’d check them out since I had a coupon. There were a couple people in front of me so I settled into the waiting area with my book and iPhone, ready for a wait. I was surprised when they told me my car was finished with no hard sell for items that I could purchase cheaper elsewhere. Best part is that I was done in less than 30 minutes with little fuss. I will definitely return here when it’s time for another oil change and keep my eyes out for coupons so I can save a little dough.

In and out in under 20 minutes. Full oil change service. They even honored an online coupon that was on my cell phone. No BS trying to upsell me or telling me I need this that and the other thing. Just a fast oil change, take my payment and out the door I go. Thanks!

They guys snuck me in at the last minute. They were so helpful and knew what they were doing. Clearly going the extra mile at this grease monkey. I’ll be back!

I always feel like they are getting me to do extra services where ever go, but since I’m not a mechanic who knows. I do know I should have gotten my oil changed sooner, so I let them flush it.
In and out quick, with a little comedy mixed in. The techs were super cool and funny. Went over what was good and that I did not needed, which was nice and standard.
They had a movie on for my kiddo — so that was a non issue. They also had some toys.
There are always discounts for this place — Valpak, entertainment book, etc. No hard sells, either. I think you can just ask for a discount and they will give to you.

Guys were awesome! Came in right a 6pm when they close and had me out of here in 10mins! If you need a oil change come to the one in shoreline and you will be amazed at the customer service and fast service!

I’ve been bringing my car (and before that my SUV) to the Shoreline Grease Monkey for years… I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. I stop by there between oil changes and they are more than happy to check/​top off my oil. They have always had outstanding service and the technicians are friendly. They do let me know when routine maintenance is due on my vehicle but I’ve never felt pressured if I decide to do it on the next visit. If I could give Shoreline Grease Monkey more than 5 stars I would!!!

Nice people. No upselling at all and I like that they use Mobil1. Saw the same low pressure attitude with other customers. Note this is for the 175^th location only.

My car was overheating and I popped into Grease Monkey in an emergency situation. I looked at the door and they were closed — I was 15 minutes too late.
One of the technicians came over to the car and I was expecting him to tell me I was out of luck, but instead he asked how he could help me. I explained that my car was overheating and he said he couldn’t send me back out on the road like that.
He checked my coolant and it was almost entirely out. He filled it up, then gave me a good-​natured ribbing about the Jiffy Lube sticker on my window.
I turned my car on and she was back to normal.
My favorite mechanic recently left the place I have gone to for over ten years and since then, I’ve been pulling over for oil changes at the nearest place because it didn’t matter. I will definitely be returning to this Grease Monkey and gladly give them my business.

I stopped in before my commute home one night because I knew I was long overdue for an oil change and had to get it done. I always see this place busy, so I decided to stop in. Sure enough, they already had 3 customers.
The condition of my oil system was pretty bad and I took them up on the offer of an engine flush after turning them down the first time.
Talk about peace of mind! These guys were friendly and efficient and quite knowledgeable. They even gave me a new ice scraper, noticing my broken one when vacuuming the car.
I hope to be back, these guys are awesome!

These guys tried to charge me an extra $ 10 because they said they needed to use special equipment to open and change my oil. I own a 2011 chevy malibu and I’ve never had anyone say this.
Beware of unnecessary charges and being taken advantage of.

What can I say, I love this place!!! The guys that work here are extremely friendly and thorough. They have great customer service and always make my visit a great one.
They perform the best possible work on my car and I have never had any problems with anything being loose or caps not screwed in tight, like some other places I have been to. Every time I come in, it’s in and out in under 15 minutes, unless they are really busy I still only have wait about a half hour. Every visit you get an automatic $ 7 deducted from the total bill plus they throw in extra savings. Can’t complain about that.
Sid who I believe is the manager of the place is one cool cat. He is very knowledgeable and extremely friendly with every customer that walks through the door. He does a great job running this place. Kudos to Sid and the crew.
