I had the ahi tuna salad which would have been great, if i had not had the same item at J Alexanders in Baton Rouge the day before. Newks preps in advance and refrigerates ahi, ay J Alex’s, it’s hot off the grill. Presentation, no comparison; flavor, not even close. All this to say, Newks was fast, health conscious, condiment bar with bread/butter pickles, peppers and grated parmesan, order and pay at register, get your own fountain drink, and runner brings food to you. If you need it even faster, they have pre-prepped soup, salad, sandwiches that you can grab-n-go.

Rude staff really threw me off about this place. The guy who took my order at the front was nothing close to helpful, in fact he even tried to rush me through my girlfriend and I’s order. The food runner wasn’t polite. The food was okay, but lacked any sort of preparation. Nobody even asked me if I needed anything or pointed me in the right direction when I was looking for assistance. The only thing I liked was how not crowded it was for obvious reasons.

Traveling for Thanksgiving we stopped at Newk’s to fuel up for the remainder of our trip. What a good choice! The food was fresh and light, definitely a better alternative to greasy fast food. We were there at peak lunch and the service was fast and friendly making Newk’s a no-brainer for a lunch break. I got the roast beef sandwich and the beef was tender and juicy. The bread is a perfect medium between tough and too soft. I asked for chips which turned out to just be plain Lay’s; I would have preferred homemade, but Lay’s aren’t bad. If I’m ever passing through Shreveport again I’ll definitely be refueling at Newk’s.

Consistent! Every time I dine the food is delicious, no matter what I order and staff is always friendly. I came in one night 10 – 15 minutes to close, and the young lady at the register did not rush me, but was very accommodating. Newk’s is my spot.

Mediocre at best too much goat cheese. Very skimpy with the proteins like chicken and beef on their sandwiches. The veg pizza was good

They offer very good food! I mostly enjoy the chicken salad sand which, Newks Q, & the macaroni and pimento cheese. They offer a variety of fresh salads, and warm soups. There pizzas are very good! I visit this place often.

Newks is one of my favorites in town. Their food is great and staff is friendly. Check them out if you haven’t by now. I wish Newks would allow customers to order online cause I like to do that sometimes as it is convenient. Also they are pretty busy, so they seem a bit rushed when ordering from phone.

I went in for lunch and got some type of bisque and mac n cheese. I am a huge mac and cheese fan and I was disappointed when my mac n cheese tasted like noodles with cooked cheese on top. The flavors werent combined together. The lobster bisque was good, but was served a little cold. I took the rest of my soup home, and when properly heated it was good. The food is good, but nothing over the top and that I couldn’t make at home. The people that worked there were friendly, and the atmosphere was nice, just the food that could improve a little more.

Eating here for the first time it was a very pleasurable experience. The cashier walked us through the menu despite being quite busy! Our food was great and the service was awesome!

The hazy atmosphere in here is horrible. It’s as if there is NO ventilation in the entire restaurant. You can’t help but reek of food cooking that stays with you the rest of the day. Will never return again.

Newks is a great choice eat for those who are looking for quick service and regular american food. Their kitchen is very lean and works like an assembly line… I’ve come here 10+ times and have never had to wait more than 10 minutes whether it’s take out or sit in. Their website is also very user friendly for looking over the menu or ordering food. Food is delicious for the price and they have healthy selection. My personal favorite is either the chicken salad sandwich or bleu cheese steak salad, but you really can’t go wrong with any order as the quality of each item on the menu is very consistent.

I had the Cuban. Nothing special and was dry with no seasoning. I ordered the wrong thing because my wife had the Newk’s Q. The white sauce was excellent and made the sandwich.

This spot has become one of my favorite hangout spots. My niece and I have Aunt and Niece time, we came across this spot. We decided to try it out and the food was great. The service was awesome. Fresh food, nice atmosphere, and great prices!!!

I love this place. The food is great. The service is great. The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is… they’re constantly over-crowded and it’s loud. If they could change the dining area to accommodate more people without putting tables 8 inches apart I think they be the best lunch spit in town. Try the chicken salad sandwich. Very nice.

I loved this place. I had a salad and chicken salad sandwich. Great, great, great. However, I tasted my friends crawfish, pepper jack soup and it was soooo good. I would definitely get this instead next time. I didn’t order it cuz it had crawfish and coming from California it didn’t even sound good. But my oh my, was it.

We like Newks. The atmosphere is nice and soups and salads are good. As for the cups, we like to reuse them at home.

Some days for me, it’s all about a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup and a half of the chicken pesto sandwich. We love the crunchy/chewy sourdough sub rolls. Pretty scrumptious.

Consistantly good experiences. Can’t go wrong with any meal here. Do yourself a flavor and grab a slice of strawberry cake before you leave. Just be sure and taste it before you plan to share. Your newly discovered sense of selfishness at the taste of the cake could cause relationship issues.

Excellent soups and salads. Ultimate Crab is a standout, but they can cut back on the corn a bit. The sandwiches are decent and the combos are a great deal. Pizza looks good, but is nothing special. Beats Johnny’s and other dives, but not on par with CPK or similar places. Also a big thumbs up for the iced tea variety, including a Splenda Sweet tea and the condiment bar which includes packaged bread sticks and fresh roasted garlic.

An ok, average soup/sandwich place. Wife had a ½ ultimate crab and ½ steak sandwich. The soup was very salty. I had a pesto chicken sandwich that was overwhelmed with goat cheese. The large dining area was packed and busy at lunch. You order, get a number, and they bring your food to you. We won’t be back though — too many other lunch places to try.
