I think it is great to have a seafood place in Signal Hill. The broiled fish is easily better than their fried, which is good if you are going healthy! Coleslaw and veggies are good. For some reason the layout of the place is kind of weird to me. The buzzers are nice for orders, but not really necessary. If I had to choose, the California Fish Grill is a bit better than this place.

Ordered the calamari and the fish plate with well done fries. The calamari was too chewy, The fish batter and coleslaw were bland and the fries that I asked to be well done were limp. The service here is always friendly, but that is just not enough to get me to go back.

Loved this place and this chain, they seem to be disappearing so every time I find one I stop by. Curry sole on a bed of rice

The people here are REALLY friendly and I appreciate that, but as fish grills go, I sadly have to give the win to, well, every other fish grill I’ve been to(California, Long Beach, SeaSalt, Pier 76…). It’s not that there’s anything wrong with the food here, it’s just that there’s nothing making it stand out. There isn’t fantastic garlic bread like at California, perfectly delicate fried appetizers like at Seasalt, or extra strong Cajun seasoning like Long Beach. Plus, the zucchini is barely seasoned and not obviously grilled, and the fries are pasty and floppy. I ordered the trout, for reference, which was cooked, to its credit, perfectly.

Fish-o-licious is o so delicious! Seriously though, I love it so much; I literally eat here everyday. I especially enjoy the grilled salmon with cajun seasoning, brown rice and steamed vegetables. I’ve been eating it almost everyday for the past month and I still love it. The prices are extremely reasonable. I can eat my go to plate and drink for about $ 11.00. I’m so glad I can eat really healthy without breaking the bank. My body and my wallet thank me. I’ve been feeling a lot better since I’ve been eating here. Everything is always very fresh. The service is great too! Lisa is always so gracious and friendly. She makes me feel so welcome. I can’t wait to go back for my daily fix. I definitely plan to keep up my healthy diet at Fish-o-licious!

I stopped in for some take out after it came highly recommended. I didn’t have high expectations considering fish and chips can be hit and miss but I was pleasantly surprised. The fish portions were just right and they were crispy despite them being in a Togo box for about 15 minutes. The staff was friendly and for a fish and shrimp combo for 12.95 is not bad for good quality. I’d definitely go back for round 2, and 3.

Both my fried and broiled seafood orders tasted dry, spongy, and like they came straight out of the freezer bag. The broiled scallops tasted worse than the frozen ones I get at the grocery store, and the broiled, over-dry shrimp had that weird, white film around the edges that I’ve seen when using low quality frozen shrimp at home. The fried shrimp were just as dry and spongy, and the whitefish wasn’t much better. Crappy even for fast food, but at least it’s somewhat edible.

I’m a big fan! I ordered the Salmon plate with the Lemon Butter sauce and enjoyed every bite. The salmon was tender and flavorful. My 2 boys had the Fish Plate(better known as Fish & Chips) and my oldest said it’s the best version of F&C he’s had. That’s pretty high praise since he’s not a big seafood fan in general. My youngest liked it too. The Huz had the Clam Chowder and some fried shrimp. He enjoyed it all, but suggested coming back on a Friday when they offer bread bowls with the Clam Chowder. Well, alrighty then, he wants to come back. Score! They have delicious dessert too… big fan of the Walnut Brownies. It’s not a fancy restaurant. They offer good food at reasonable prices. We’ll be back!

I live 5 minutes away from this place. My fiancé and I tried it for take out. I ordered 3fish tacos with the 2 sides which I picked fries and veggies and drink. My fiancé ordered I believe salmon with the 2 sides which he picked coleslaw and veggies. We returned 2 weeks later for take out again. It was a Tuesday and they had $ 1 fish tacos !!! :) My fiancé and I have been pleased by their service and food.

This place makes your fish from fresh not frozen fish! We tried the Cajun salmon and Basa filet house special plates, they were both delicious! Service was excellent and we even got a free brownie :) that was yummy too!

Fish-o-Licious…a new fishery/seafood grill taking over the Signal Hill shopping district by Costco. I have been here a couple of times; once for Taco Tuesday, another time for dinner, and most recently for Clam Chowder in a soft sourdough bowl. They have delicious food paired with fresh/grilled veggies. But I have to admit one thing… I do not necessarily come here for the seafood. I come here for the walnut brownies. They need to rename their restaurant to BROWNIE-O-LICIOUS!!! I don’t even care for chocolate much — but I cannot resist these. They are freshly baked by someone in the restaurant every morning. They are soft, moist, nutty, and super chocolately. Hands down, the best darn brownie I have ever had. This is such a great place — don’t forget the brownie!

I first tried Fish-O-Licious on December 19, 2015 out of curiosity. My very first meal was the grilled basa fish filet with brown rice and steamed vegetables. I was impressed with the meal and the very reasonable price I paid for it! Lisa was so welcoming on my first visit, that she even gave me a brownie as a Thank You treat for coming in. The second time on December 26, 2015, I invited my Mom to try it out with me. The second time, I ordered grilled catfish with honey curry sauce, red bell peppers, cilantro, grilled zucchini, brown rice, sourdough bread, and lemon. My Mom ordered the grilled basa fish filet meal. We both were impressed with our meals and the reasonable cost. So we decided to host my Parents’ 42nd Anniversary Lunch with family over there on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2016. Today which is New Year’s Day, January 1, 2016, my Parents and I came with the rest of our family, which was a total of 13 of us. Salim and Lisa, the Co-Owners of this restaurant, graciously welcomed us. Salim helped set up tables and chairs to accommodate our large family lunch gathering, and helped suggest items for us to order. Salim also thoroughly answered our questions about food allergies, since we had some family members with us who had special dietary needs. Lisa graciously took our long orders, and then Salim delivered our orders to our table for us. He also checked on us periodically. He also helped take pictures of our large group enjoying our lunch together. At the end, Salim treated the Anniversary celebrants, my Parents, to two free brownies. This restaurant, their owners, and employees truly care about pleasing us. They truly delivered well on quality food and service. We look forward to patronizing them and inviting more family and friends to enjoy fish meals together with us. Thank you, Fish-O-Licious for the wonderful and delicious meals, and the excellent customer service!

My kids and I really enjoyed our meal here. I’ve been to their location in Commerce several times and never been disappointed. I’ve been wanting to have my son taste their food for awhile, but the Commerce location is opened during lunch m-f. Thankfully we have the Signal Hill location now. So I ordered the grilled fish as usual. The Cajun seasoning was heavier than the other location, but still delicious. I sampled my son’s catfish and it was crispy and tasty. But the best plate was babygirl’s fried shrimp. The shrimp were huge and the seasoning was delicious! The drinks are self serve and there is a well stocked condiment station. All in all, happy with our visit and look forward to returning soon.

I love fish and wanted to give this place a try. Especially since they have taco Tuesday’s! I’m sad to say I was pretty disappointed with the food taste, freshness, and quality. I ordered two fish tacos one fried one grilled. When ordering, I asked if they were big or the small tacos and they said«Big!» So I only ordered two. They were small, so I was still hungry after. Both were lacking in flavor, tortilla was not fresh, and the portion size of fish was minimal. No fresh made salsa either. They have stars one for the price being so good, very friendly staff, and fast service.

This place is in a mall with a Costco and Home Depot and many other stores. Parking is not difficult but can get crowded. We went here on Tuesday and luckily they have Taco Tuesdays. $ 1 fish tacos. The fish tacos can be fried or grilled. I liked both but prob would get the grilled… just to be healthier. plus the grilled comes with some chunks of salmon. The taco was solid(not the best ever, but good for $ 1). We also got a catfish dish which was good. The normal plates are around $ 10 and have decent portions. I would def come back, but prob more likely to come on a Tuesday specifically for Taco Tuesday unless I was really in the mood for fish.

I wanted to like this place. I really did. I’m a fan of other grilled fish eateries, so I was excited that one opened up near my house, but this particular location was a disappointment. Right when we entered, my mom(who’s 61) exclaimed, «It’s all old people.» This may seem hypocritical, but the vibe was off and we immediately wondered if we should find somewhere else to dine. Not wanting to give up, we took a deep breath and stayed. After ordering, we walked to the back(it’s a fairly large space) and sat down. I picked up our clam chowder and got our waters. Right when the chowder hit my lips, I knew there was something wrong. There was a strange, off flavor. I’m still not even sure what it is. All I know is that it didn’t taste like any other clam chowder I’ve ever had, and that’s not a good thing. My mom grabbed a spoonful, and as it touched her tongue, I recognized her facial expression. I had demonstrated the same one, I’m sure, just minutes earlier. Neither of us could figure out what the heck was happening with the soup. When the food came, it was also far from what we anticipated. My mom’s trout, to be fair, was good, but I didn’t like my catfish. The brown rice was salty and the bread was cold. I wish they had heated the rolls, at the very least. The zucchini was delicious, however.

It’s all about that basa. No that’s not a typo even though auto correct tried to change it to bass. Basa is a white fish similar to tilapia(as described by the manager here) with a mild flavor. It is one of the most frequently used fish at this joint. It is used in most of its specials and fish & chips. Since I never heard of this fish I had to give it a try. It was one of the specials of the day for little under $ 11, and was served with a choice of cole slaw or steamed vegetables, dinner roll, and a fountain drink. The fish was super fresh with no fishy taste whatsoever and the honey curry sauce was just perfect. I wanted to try few other dishes before writing my review but I’m sold just on this dish alone. This place gets fresh fish delivered daily and are displayed on ice near the register. You can choose from the display and ask them to cook it for you. Free delivery is available for $ 50 minimum purchase as long as it’s within a 3 mile radius. There are daily specials like Taco Tuesday($ 1 fish tacos), 50% off wine on Wednesdays, and free brownie samples with the purchase of any entrée on Sundays. You can see specials for each day of the week on its website . This isn’t a full service restaurant. You order at the counter and they buzz you on a pager when the food is ready. Service was excellent. Everyone said hello and were very helpful. This is one of five locations. Other ones are in Chino Hills, Commerce, Corona, and Fontana. This one is located in the same shopping center as Costco so the parking lot can get quite hectic. It’s located right next to Wells Fargo Bank.

I am glad to see Fish O Licious expanding and doing well, I really like the concept. You can see the fish displayed nicely and decide what you want and how you would like them to prepare it for you, large selection, fairly priced. I went with salmon, grilled on a salad. Nice portion, grilled perfectly and presented nicely. My husband had fish and chips, fried well, very tasty, perfect for kids and non fish lovers as everything tastes better fried. Service was very nice, food came out quickly, nice portions as well. Worth checking out if you are in the area and wanting some fresh fish for around $ 10 a plate.

A NEW seafood restaurant has opened in Signal Hill and today is their«soft opening». Their official Grand Opening will be next Friday, 10/16/2015. This is the brain child of Salim Khoury, who used to own Khoury’s at the LB Marina(9 years ago). This is their 5th location(a franchise). The idea behind Fish-O-Licious is to give you quality, fresh fish at reasonable prices, prepared with almost fast food speed. The fish IS fresh too, brought in DAILY! There are a few sample plates on the counter so you can see what they have to offer. There are a few large photos on the walls showing some of their other dishes as well. SERVICE: Being this is their first day, they are of course working out a few kinks, but Salim took my order as his daughter was training others. He also introduced me to the franchisee, Lisa Johnson. Salim was very enthusiastic, gave me info about the restaurant and shared that took nearly 9 years of testing to get everything on the menu the way he wanted it. FOOD: The menu prices are reasonable, ranging from $ 1.50 for a side of coleslaw or rice, to $ 13.95 for a scallop plate or seafood kabab. I decided to start simple and try 1 fish taco($ 2.95) and 1 shrimp taco($ 3.95) both were grilled. Their fish taco has 3 different types of fish in it, salmon, basa and halibut. Salim was telling me that basa is kind of like tilapia, but is raised in a cleaner environment and is better, healthier for you. OK, works for me! Both of my tacos were very tasty, with cabbage, pico de gallo and Tapatio in each one. As i said they were good, but they were both much spicier than I was expecting. Maybe no Tapatio next time. OVERALL: A new fish restaurant promising fresh, fast and at a reasonable price. I look forward to going back and trying something else! And don’t forget the $ 1 tacos on Tuesdays!!!
