Omg. Charm Thai is SO good!!! I got the eggplant and tofu yum soup! Also the Garden Rolls are spot on, love the sauce. Delivery was fast and easy. Two thumbs way up!

Absolute favorite thai restaurant in DC/MD/VA area. THe lunch dine in special is unbeatable. You get drink, app and meal for $ 10. The staff is always more than nice and efficient. The drunken Noodle is by far my most ordered dish(I’ve been at least 20x over course of 4+ years). I wish they delivered as some of the other thai places do in the area but all in all a top rated place for me. Love!

I absolutely love Charm Thai!!! My go to Thai place. All of the dishes are amazing. The duck with basil, Panang Curry and the drunken noodles are my favorite!!! I usually order to go and the portions are big! Delivery is always done in a timely manner. Give this local place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

This is by far my absolute favorite Thai place in the area, seriously. The only thing holding me back from giving them 5 stars is I’m out of their delivery range by less than half a mile… so close! By far my favorite dish is drunken noodles. I could easily eat it every. single. day. Their spring rolls are also on point. I’ve been to Charm Thai numerous times for take out and dine in and service has always been great. A couple times when I’ve called in I’ve had to wait on hold for a bit before they’d take my order, but that’s really the only thing. Sit down service is always fast and the staff is always friendly. There’s parking in the back… though I’m not sure now if it’s for customers, they recently hung up signs that say«For Employees».if my husband and I are getting take out, we park there to pick it up. Otherwise there’s a public parking garage a block away. I will keep my fingers crossed for them to extend their delivery range!

I’m not a fan of Thai food. The food and service here are good. The noodle soup and panang curry is okay. I do like the garden roll.

This is my favorite thai restaurant in Silver Spring. The delivery is a little slow but always within the stated time. The green curry, panang curry, and pad see ew are my favorite. The panang and green curries are both perfectly creamy and thin. The portion sizes are large enough for 2 meals. The pad see ew is never overcooked and has a great, sweet flavor. I like to pour the leftover curry sauce over the pad see ew and then eat way too much in one sitting. I have tried every thai place in Silver Spring, and this is my favorite.

Tried Charm Thai for the first time this weekend. Ordering was super easy through the online process and delivery was quick and timely. We got the pad see euw with tofu, pad Thai, tofu panang curry, and tom yum soup. The soup was yummy — a little spicy, a little sour, with lots of chicken and mushrooms. Next time I’ll try the tom kha with coconut milk, just to see how they compare. The pad see euw and pad Thai were unfortunately nothing too special. They weren’t bad, just not the most flavorful or delicious. I would have liked to see more broccoli in the pad see euw, as well. The pad Thai lacked the complex flavors I expect in a really good version of the dish. Again, not bad! Just could be better. The panang, on the other hand, was super good! Loved it! Lots of interesting flavors all melded together — get that! Yum!

Charm Thai gives me life! Seriously. They are a few blocks away from me, and time and time again, when I’m getting home late from work(almost every day), I put in an order with Charm Thai as I take the exit, and it’s ready by the time I park. Hanger solved. My favorites are their krapow fried rice, tom kha soup, and obvi a thai iced tea. I’ve also dined in at the restaurant on rare occassions, and the food is even better when it’s served piping hot to you. The service is always reliable regardless of whether you’re dining or doing to go. It appears to be a family run establishment. and if it isn’t, they sure seem like a close-knit group! Charm Thai is that old reliable that will always be there for you, and put an end to your hanger woes. Try it today!

The brussel sprouts were delicious! I wasn’t quite hungry enough for a main meal, but the sauce was spicy and sweet and so flavorful. The food was delicious. Parking is a block away in a public parking garage. Unleashed is right next door! I forgot to get litter for my cat. Oh yes, and minus one star because even though the waitress was attentive and busy, she seemed understaffed or under supported. I might as well give it five stars… I mean, the environment wasn’t five star, worthy… I don’t easily give out five stars. The icycles and flashy christmas lights on November 1st was worthy of having one less star. Ya know? :)

The staff is friendly as ever and maybe eating in is a worthwhile experience. However, two take outs yielded disappointing results: mildly flavored noodles glued together in clumps, vaguely Chinese brown sauce on indifferent vegetables… if not for the green curry this would’ve been a bust. What happened to the delicious, spicy, life-filled vegetables that I remember from 2 years ago? Or the many layered flavors? Where’s the cook from way back then? Two strikes and I’m not returning until I hear there’s a change back, for the better.

I’m really disappointed with the service I received the last time I attempted to order. I have given this restaurant a lot of my business. I eat here at least 6 times a month or so — that is how much I love it. But after the last time, I ended up ordering from another restaurant in the area and that restaurant will now be the go-to lunch place for my colleagues and I. I called one Friday afternoon right when they opened to place a delivery order for my office. Our total was going to total at least $ 50, and their delivery minimum is $ 18. Usually when I order lunch from my office, I get a very friendly male employee. This day, I had a female who hung up on me 4 times before finally accepting my call. When I told her I had been hung up on 4 times — she said«yes, ok». No apology, no explanation, and she didn’t even seem surprised. So I know it wasn’t a technical issue or glitch. I let her know in advance that I would have to use two separate payments since multiple people were ordering. She said that it would be fine. After I gave her the entire order, she stated that she could not process the order on two cards — because one order was only $ 16. While the total order equaled over the minimum and were going to the exact same place, in the same bag — she refused to do it. I let her know we had done it before without an issue, she then went on to imply that I was lying. And told me to process the order online instead. First she told me she didn’t know how to do it, then she told me it was against owner policies and that she would be fired. So when I asked her what the difference would be to order online, she admitted she had no idea. The entire time, the employee just kept telling me that she had worked there for 3 years and knew everything. I just sat and listened, hoping to get a word in. This entire conversation wasted 15 minutes of my time. She had such a bad attitude, while I remained nice and calm the entire time, that we ended up just ordering from another restaurant — that took our order, two payments, and delivered within 15 minutes. We now have a new lunch go-to place. Disappointed in Charm.

Correction to my last review: The restaurant hasn’t moved their opening time back to 11. The lunch menu says that the lunch specials are served from 11 to 3, which gave me that idea, but the sign next to the door says they open at 11:30, and that seems to be in fact the case. Too bad. If they were open at 11, I could eat here more often, but often I cannot wait the extra half hour. But I did have a new chance to sample the fare here, and for a change I got the drunken noodles(the first time I got something other than a curry). It was very good.(I did have to pick out the onions, and I’ll have to see if I can order it without onions. I probably can; one person at a neighboring table ordered his soup without mushrooms and it was served that way to him, so they do make accommodations to people like this.)

A friend of mine rates this restaurant as one of her top Thai restaurants, took her word for it and enjoyed being here! This is going to be my go-to for Thai cuisine.

Today, I was looking for light and fufilling. And it did not disappoint. I got the tofu soup. I actually struggled not getting the drunken noodles again, but I’m not that hungry. This place is a good place to eat. This bowl of delicious light vegetables and tofu. The broth is alil sweet but good all around. –side note. The waitress did come by and say the kitchen is closing. Not sure if that is a rare thing or all the time… note it is Friday 2:28.

The food is hit or miss. The chicken ka pow is great, spicy and flavorful. The dumplings were okay, helped a lot by the teriyaki dipping sauce and nice plating. The yellow curry was overall pretty awful, though — the curry sauce was not at all spicy as promised and tasted unpleasantly of pineapples, and was loaded with unpeeled, undercooked red potatoes(ew) and whole, undercooked baby carrots. The décor certainly left something to be desired. The walls and tables were mostly bare, the whole place looked half-finished even though it’s been there for awhile now. The restaurant also didn’t have AC in the middle of summer, while left my friend and I very warm by the end of the meal.

Sad to say that I can’t join the others with a rave review. Despite how promising the food tastes at this place, something is just off. The first time I did carry out, there was a beetle in my drunken noodles. I actually decided to keep eating. Not sure if I was just hungry or the food was just good. Didn’t even call to complain. Needless to say, I was hesitant to give this place another shot. I ordered today and they failed again. I ordered drunken noodles with chicken and chicken pineapple… I received drunken noodles with beef. I have no intention to complain anymore. Their food is good, but something is just lacking in their overall preparation and follow through. Maybe they just don’t pay enough attention to their drunken noodles. I’ll give them another shot after some time… That will determine of I change my review up or down a star.

After searching Unilocal for an hour for a great spot to eat in Silver Spring for a co-worker’s birthday lunch, I stumbled across this place. The reviews looked good, so we decided to try it out. It was a large group of us, about 10 people, and we had excellent service. Our food came out amazingly fast. We started off with the calamari appetizer. OMG you have to try this! This might be the best calamari I have had. I have no idea what they battered the calamari in but it was amazing. I had to stop myself from being a pig and hogging it from my other co-workers. Most of us at the table got the lunch special which includes a drink(soft-drinks from a can, Thai iced tea, Thai iced coffee, etc), an appetizer(tom yum chicken soup or veggie spring rolls) and an entrée. Pretty good deal! I ended up getting Pad Ka Pow with chicken. It was a spicy gravy with lots of bell peppers, onions, and basil and a side of steamed rice. It was sooo good! The portion size was perfect for lunch as well. Everyone was really pleased with their food. I would have given them 5 stars, but this place was a little tight. Probably wasn’t the best choice for a large group of us, but if you have a smaller group it would be perfect.

I had the roti to start and it was quite good. It’s thick bread — more like a pita than a naan. As garnish, there was some steamed spinach and carrots on the plate as well as a small pot of some type of curry. Yum! For main, I had chosen the drunken noodles with chicken. There was a big serving and it was quite spicy. If spice is going to be a concern for you, then you’ll want to make sure to request it less spicy. The service could have been better. As the spicy food took up more and more of my beer — Singha, a Thai beer — I really wanted another but the gal who took my food order was nowhere to be found. Oh, well. I’d return. Good, spicy and nicely cooked.
