Good food plus good service… gave the bartender a 40% tip because that’s how good he was. Always have a good time when I come here even though I had to go through 2 resturant with bad service to finally get me where I needed to be

Grossly disappointed. The service was sooooo bad. The host was snarky and made us wait forever for s table, when I could see plenty of empty tables both inside and outside. The inside honestly reeked of just«old restaurant» — grease and food and meat and alcohol all mixed together. The food was bland and service was poor(our server had 5 tables she was manning all by herself, the poor girl). I had the english breakfast — my eggs tasted weird and the potatoes were the worst. My sister had the veggie burger and she basically left 3 quarters of it on her plate. NOT Coming back ever again!

A great place to have brunch with your family! Food is good! Service on this other hand is ok! I can understand that because the place gets busy! The downside of this place is the wait for the table! If you happen to be in Silver Spring area I definitely recommend this place! I love their crab dip appetizer !! Good luck with your experience !!!

I have been twice and both times the food was excellent. The only downside was the long wait for a table both times but I would go back.

The wait was long so we sat in the bar area. Had no trouble finding a table. Took a while to get service though. After ordering the service was great. The tall chairs were a bit uncomfortable so beware. We had the frittata which they split for us so that was nice. Also had the island mimosa which I loved!

This was a great restaurant on Memorial Day. They have an extensive breakfast menu and our server Jordan was excellent. I liked how you can make changes and substitutions to your order. They offer egg whites instead of regular eggs for a healthier option with a salad instead of a potato. I got the veggie omelette with egg whites and a garden salad. Very fresh and clean. A healthy option for my diet. They have great outdoor seating where we sat overlooking the rest of the plaza. Indoors was big with a bakery in the front selling various breads and pastries. If I was cheating, I would have ventured to their pancake selection where a few caught my eye including s’mores pancake and red velvet. If you are coming for lunch or dinner, they have other various options as well.

Decent place for breakfast/brunch. I’ve visited this location and the Ellicott City location several times. The lobster/shrimp and grits is one of my favorite Eggspectation dishes. A couple of the egg benedict dishes were pretty good too. However the waffles/pancakes/french toast are just OK to me.

Fantastic breakfast here. Had one of their juice smoothies first which was really good. Then had the french toast with eggs and these really good French style potatoes with a side of bacon. Food outstanding, very good service also.

This place met my Eggspectation. eggs all day what more can u ask for. The food was eggcelent! I had a taste for Crab Cake Benedict and there are only a few places that do it right– Eggspectations is one. The dish was delicious and came out to my table fast. Thought it comes with seasoned potatoes(which can be swapped out for fruit) I paired mine with cheese grits… simply devine. I also ordered the Island Mimosa… yummers! They do pretty good with having food delivered to the tables efficiently! Since I was alone I just sat back and watched things. Everyone seemed pleased. One my way out I was taken aback by their desert counter. I just had to take a slice of the apple pie cheesecake with me and it was amazeballs!!! I’m definitely returning. Where this place fell short. I was seated by the greeter promptly. I dined alone today but wanted a table setting instead of bar. There were four to five servers working the area… it took me yanking on a servers shirt to get some assistance. That was after sitting and watching others for about 15 min. just float on past me like I wasn’t there. And one guy addressed a couple and took their order 10 minutes after I had been sittting. Thanks to Andrew for taking my order and making sure I was set the rest of my time.

So I just finished eating dinner here and I can’t decided what was worse, the food or the service. To start with, all the bartenders underpoor and they compensate for it by adding ice to your drink. When the bar manager taste test a drink, and you can see her pucker her lips in disgust, you guessed it, she sends it out anyway. Now we ordered some food and it took a good 10 minutes to get the utensils that go with it as well. Everything was bland, and no one cares to ask how it was.

Five stars for excellent service and food. I had their French toast, very yummy. My son had pancakes buttery and fluffy very delicious. My daughter had omelette with waffles which also looks good. Don’t get me started on their potatoes. This place will definitely be in rotation.

I love this place! Whether you get a breakfast item or lunch or dinner, you will leave satisfied! The service has been great each time I’ve been and the food is always good. Definitely try if you’re in the mood for a good brunch as well. They have great happy hour prices and sometimes you can find a groupon deal.

Good breakfast place that serves breakfast all day. They did have some outdoor seating options although it was too cold when I was there. Plenty of seating and there was also a bar here as well with a few flat screen TV’s. Service was quick and polite. I would return anytime I’m in the mood for breakfast.

Definitely exceeded my eggspectations! I came in for breakfast on a whim with a friend on a weekday and it wasn’t too crowded inside. They have a nice, comforting brick interior and bookshelves on the walls. The kitchen is open and is visible from pretty much anywhere you sit. I ordered the lobster omelette, which consists of a quarter pound of sautéed lobster, provolone cheese, and green onions. The hollandaise sauce on top was rich, creamy, and a little lemony. The Lyonnaise-style potatoes were sliced perfectly — not too thin/thick. These potatoes were pan-fried to golden-brown perfection and added the much needed heartiness to my morning meal. I think this is one of the better breakfast spots in Downtown Silver Spring. With an extensive menu that focuses on eggs, who wouldn’t want to give this place a try? It’s eggcellent.

Came here for brunch with two girlfriends from college at 10 am on a Sunday. it was busy when we got here but there was no wait. Even so, the service we had was awful-took us fifteen minutes for me to find our waitress in the restaurant to order food after we got drinks. The wait for food was ridiculous too, but luckily we kept occupied catching up and discussing engagements, babies, etc. Then of course we had to track down silverware that was not brought out to us– along with a missing side of toast. I had higher hopes for the brunch– the food was good but the service made me want to never venture back. I’ll stick to the Ellicott City location, which seems to have a better grasp on service.

Went on a Saturday morning at 9 and was surprised to find the place almost empty. I ordered by standard breakfast fare — Chesapeake egg Benedict. At $ 18, I was expecting more crab. I wasn’t really impressed with the dish overall or the latte I got. I go here more so for convenience — it’s centrally located in downtown silver spring but I wouldn’t go here for the quality of the food, ever. The latte was disappointing, but I’ve had bloody Mary’s here is the past though that I’ve liked a lot :) I like their Elliott city location much better — friendlier service and better food.

I used to love this place. We got there and we’re seated outdoors. I took a bit of time to get waters. Finally a waitress came and asked us for drink orders. We ordered the mini muffins as well, we were told twice that they ran out of certain types. We finally got our muffins. We tried the chocolate, blueberry and«chocolate cappuccino» which ended up being banana nut. We were told they didn’t have those. We waited another 5 mins for silverware and saucers only for one saucer to be dirty. She came back to take our orders I ordered the green juice with kale, pineapple, spinach, lemon. It was good and served cold, frothy and yummy. I also ordered the lox and bagel. It came on a platter although it’s listed under the sandwiches. I would only complain that their menus had else much food a dirt on them. I hope they see this and clean their menus. I can only imagine how many germs on waiting there. Overall the food was fine, but they need to work on their customer services.

This is one of my favorite breakfast places, second to The Pancake House of course. I always get the same thing everytime I come here, yes I know I need to expand my palate and try new things but why fix what isn’t broke?! I order the chicken and waffles, it’s not on the menu but they have it! It is amazing, it comes with a large waffle, of course, and yummy fried chicken that is cooked perfectly. The chicken is the perfect amount to have with each bite of waffle, just enough! What really did me in is the gravy, it’s a little peppery and creamy. I feel like I’ve had it with the maple syrup mixed into the gravy but this last time it was separate. Either way, they taste amazing together! I don’t remember their other dishes too much but my friend loves their pancakes, they come in stacks of 4. She ordered the strawberry and cream pancakes and there was a ton of strawberries on top! Highly reccomend for breakfast food!

So yes I am a fan and I had not been here for years since I had brunch on a beautiful day(French toast, eggs, sausage) and decided yesterday on a beautiful Sunday that myself and my family member wanted a place to go, sit outside and enjoy some great food. I made a big mistake on this day because the place was packed(inside and out). As we walked in I expected to be told that there would be at least an hour wait for a table. But we got lucky and were seated immediately. Only there was one problem. The hostess sat us at two small stone tables and there really wasn’t enough room. Luckily, the two men next to us vacated their table and we moved over. It was a perfect spot to people watch, enjoy the weather, and the sounds of music playing overhead. Our server was Doug, he seemed a bit frazzled I guess from the busy brunch and who could blame him. The kitchen we learned was moving slow and behind on almost everyone’s table. It never fails when I decide to go out to eat either my food is given to me wrong, not cooked properly, or delayed in some fashion(as I watch other people get their food on time). He was quick and took our orders since we cruised the menu for some time before we were greeted by him. We knew what we wanted and put in the order quickly he again informed us that the kitchen was running behind and that he would continually check on our food. For me, I opted for an egg white omelet filled with spinach, peppers, scallions, and avocado(be forewarned that when you order a la carte like I did you will be paying $ 0.99 for each add on for your omelet) with 4 slices of turkey bacon(an extra $ 1.99), and a side field greens salad. My family member ordered the Toasted Berry salad w/chicken(an extra $ 2.99) fresh baby spinach, mixed with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, tomatoes, Havarti cheeses, toasted almonds, and paired with a warm cranberry bacon dressing. Well, we put our orders in before 1200 pm(I want to say around 1130) and waited darn near an hour for our food. Now this of course was not Doug’s fault but once again, as I mentioned previously, I watched as several other tables were sat, food was ordered, and placed down before ours. I started to grow annoyed and asked my family member did they want to just go ahead, cancel, and grab something else. At this point I made a mental note that brunch may not be for me here seeing as though the kitchen was so behind. Nevertheless, once the food arrived I had no complaints. The food arrived hot and well plated. The omelet was done PERFECTLY!!! and filled from end to end. With each fork full I put in my mouth I got every ingredient I asked for. The turkey bacon on the side could have cooked to a crisp but hey I was finally happy to be eating after such a long wait. As for the toasted berry chicken salad, my family raved about it being filling and not heavy. Towards the end of my meal I decided to order some of their honey old bay seasoned jumbo wings to go. Lets just say they were tasted great coming fresh out the kitchen. But once I got home it lost its flare and some of the chicken pieces were undercooked(I don’t recommend this outside of the restaurant) Pros: THEFOOD!!! Even though I have only visited twice on each occasion the food is fresh, piping hot, and made to perfection(I still remember how wonderful my French toast and eggs tasted after all these years). Even the dessert area caught my eye with fresh baked goodies on display and of course my favorite being red velvet cake(chose not to indulge this time but there is always a next) Service — My waiter earned his tip it wasn’t his fault the kitchen was behind. All I look for in my server is great service, get the order right, keep my glass full, and stay on the job. He did all these things Ambiance — Not bad not bad at all. Besides the noise level the place is actually bigger on the inside with plenty of seating and has a nice size bar area that accommodates very well. They have high tops for smaller groups, booths for and large tables for larger parties. Cons: Kitchen: Look I understand I chose to come at brunch but goodness darn near an hour wait for some egg whites and a salad is just darn ridiculous to me. Not to mention my undercooked chicken wings once I got home to try to enjoy them. Now this does not deter me from every coming back like some restaurants have in the past because quite frankly the main course was scrumptious and done right. But the kitchen is going to need some work Overall I would recommend this restaurant with confidence to anyone who is looking for great food, a casual and family friendly ambiance, with wonderful service. Just be prepared to wait for your food but its worth it

Downtown Silver Spring has a lot of choices for happy hour and this one was not a winner. Eggspectations has a great happy hour menu. We tried their brie bruschetta and the pork quesadilla. Soooo good! The wine is a really good price and they have a full bar and good selection of beer. So why not more stars? The service was a mess. Both of the bartenders had separate groups of friends visiting them. Rather than going up to talk to them, the bartenders kept yelling across the bar to their friends(who did not order anything), sometimes while standing right in front of you. If I wanted to be in a rowdy obnoxious atmosphere, I would have chosen a different location. What bothered me the most, is that the manager made an appearance several times when the yelling was at peak levels(and distances) and he never said a thing. Unprofessional. It was very clear that others around us felt the same way. We sat with our glasses empty and had to chase someone down to order another round. The bar was not even half full at the time. On top of ALL that, there were some questionable cleanliness issues that we witnessed. One employee was making fresh orange juice, would stop and complete a non food related task, then go back to juicing without washing her hands. Then instead of using a can opener to open juice cans, the cans were being slammed against the corner of the counter. Juice sprayed all down the counter and onto the floor. It was so odd. It’s really too bad. I’ve been trying to find a happy hour spot for when I’m in Silver Spring. Despite how good the food was it won’t be here.
