If you’re looking for completely unprofessional service, a waitress who asks you«do you have a boyfriend?»(For a waiter) Then when you ask«why?» Says«it’s not my place to say» then walks away like she didn’t just rudely and unprofessionally interrupt your meal to ask you a very inappropriate question, then come eat here! Seriously. Is this really something they are okay with? Because I called and asked for the manager and I kid you not the manager said«wow… I don’t know what to do… All I can say is I’m sorry.» The general manager wasn’t there and I wasn’t about to leave my number and never get a call back so I will try to call again. If anything changes, I’ll update the review. But seriously. Don’t eat here unless you want to deal with that type of experience for mediocre food.

My fiancé had dinner @ Austin Grill 1÷30÷16. They were short staffed and serving a few large parties. We were advised of the scenario prior to our wait, but opted to dine there anyway. Harrison Redd, our waiter was on it! Despite the ratio of wait staff to diners… we hardly noticed/experienced delayed service. Harrison made sure we had everything we needed in a timely professional manner. Thanks Harrison! My fiancé & I felt the General or Store Manager should take notice of how he & other staff performed under pressure! We will definitely return & hope to be waited on by Mr. Redd.

There are some really good people working at the downtown Silver Spring Austin Grill. The food is fine. The kitchen has it together. The bar is slow. The service staff shows promise. Management should encourage the host stand to seat people(especially families with children) away from Windows and doors on a cold blustery day. When people are seated at a table, make sure that they have silverware before the food comes. All servers should check with a table to make sure that their food is not getting cold because there are no utensils on the table. This location needs to practice the two bite check in and the frequent beverage refill points of service. One more thing. Do not ignore the high tipping single mother with kids so that you can flirt with the single ladies at the next table. Nevertheless, effort is a good predictor of success. Waitstaff, the host stand, and management show significant effort to meet the needs of all of their guests. They smile and they seem to care. I like this location despite the fact that they need improvement. The layout is suitable for fundraisers.

Came here for lunch and was surprised at how empty it was. However it was MLK holiday so I guess many were home. Since we arrived at around 1 we were too early for happy hour however they did have $ 5.00 margarita Mondays. I had a regular margarita and the chicken fajitas. No complaints. The complimentary chips and salsa weren’t bad either however they didn’t refill our chips. Overall I’d visit again.

I used to visit Austin’s Grill alot more back in the day usually for happy hour. It had been at least a year, but I stopped by yesterday(MLK Day) after volunteering for lunch with a friend. It was just after noon and very empty — probably considering that it was a holiday. Two servers came over(one was shadowing) and asked us if we were ready to order, but we weren’t. Less than a minute later, a different server came over asking us if we were ready to order! Huh?!! So yeah they need to be better organized in that area. The lunch menu seemed somewhat limited, but I ordered the chicken and waffle(which I didn’t know they had, but the server did mention did). It wasn’t bad… the waffle was a little dry but the chicken was tasty. They offered a $ 5 margarita special which my friend and I got! I’d definitely come back here one day, but wasn’t impressed with the service.

Couldn’t believe that with an empty restaurant on a Saturday night the hostess wouldn’t seat our party of 6 because she was holding tables for a reservation that was late. There were loads of tables available! It made no sense! We left and will probably never go back! Sad because I love the Swirlies!

Easily the worst service I have ever received from any restaurant. Slow, food came out wrong, twice. Worst off no one seemed to care in the least. I’ve had good experiences at other Austin grills in years past and this one was so so far from my expectations.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. The service is pretty good, the waiters/waitresses and bartenders are friendly. But the food is just ehh. If I’m craving Mexican there’s many other places I’d consider, if I just want a drink and maybe an app I could go since it’s convenient to me.

We ordered delivery. It showed up two hours after ordering and an hour after the estimated time. My nachos were burnt. The cheese was a solid brown crust.(Slimy) cooked lettuce was mixed in for some reason. The enchiladas my friend ordered were also burnt. The queso I ordered didn’t even show up. Majorly disappointing.

I love coming here for their steak and eggs, you can never go wrong with the two. I also enjoyed their drinks from the bar and the chips and salsa.

I’ve had a few meals at Austin Grill and they’ve all been pretty good. I especially enjoy the fact that they have sweet tea(real sweet tea!). On my first experience I sat in and had their ribs. The customer service was great considering that I was in a large party. The prices for food and drinks pretty much met the usual requirements for a bar a grill type setting. My second visit was take out right after work hours. The bar was pretty full but I found a space and ordered. It took longer than expected to get my food. Most people in the restaurant were only ordering drinks so I was a bit confused was to why my food order took so long. Either way the meal was good after it finally came. Over all this restaurant is pretty good for the bar and grill setting. No real complaints!

Thought I’d give them a shot tonight despite the bad reviews. Sadly I didn’t get to try anything. We left when they refused to serve me, something that has never happened to me before. Apparently they are unfamiliar with New York licenses and enhanced licences(can serve as a passport) because they thought it was a fake. I do look a bit different from my ID, I’m significantly older…

Best prices and food in downtown Silver Spring. They’re the only spot with Happy Hour during the football games and they have the NFL package. I would recommend this place to anyone who is definitely isn’t on a diet– the food is filling and reminisent of comfort food. It is definitely not like mainstream Mexican — it’s a small chain with its own personality. This would be a great place to watch games, host a casual get together, or a weekend date after partying. It’s kid friendly on Tuesdays-children eat for $ 1. Big portions, and a medium sized selection of tequlias– worth the money you shell out.

I’ve been coming to AG since 2008. As a bar customer, I’ve seen the staff change dramatically over the years as you can except in most restaurants(especially ‘chain’ types). My friends and I gravitate to AG Silver Spring happy hours when Michelle works behind the bar. A clean bar and attention to the customers is a must in my humble opinion. Sadly that detail is lost frequently at many restaurants. Thanks Austin Grill and Michelle for the good work. We’ll keep coming back.

I’ve been coming here a few times but the service goes from bad to worst… Specially the all you can eat Tacos on Thursday’s it’s a scam because they won’t keep serving you after you’re done your first plate of 2 tacos(small ones) they make you wait forever so you leave. The server Aidda is so slow and forgetful!

I remember Austin Grill, from 20 years ago, fondly. I’m disappointed to report that either my taste has changed significantly or the food has worsened with time. Entrees were a letdown. My steak and shrimp fajitas had chewy shrimp though the steak was ok. Her margarita chicken tastes solely of cumin and lime. Both ran is nearly $ 20 each. The drinks were refreshing though.

They renewed their menu and does not have the fried chicken anymore. I loved it but our server explained that it was not popular so they took it off the menu. :( But I always enjoy the strawberry and mango swirl frozen margarita! Yummmm. Their food portions are decent and colorful nachos with salsa is delicious. I feel that they’re very spacious and family friendly except karaōke night & live music night.

I was here on Memorial Day itself for lunch with a friend who lives in Silver Spring. We ordered the table side guacamole to share. The guacamole was indeed mixed fresh at the table and came with red, blue and yellow fried corn tortilla chips, which are also made in house. You could see even the guacamole in the taco salad was made fresh. My chicken was well seasoned and had nice grill marks We had ordered the frozen lime margaritas which were good and strong enough. The service was professional and prompt.

Good food, good happy hour specials, confusing atmosphere. Came here on St. Patrick’s Day. They didn’t celebrate(not even green beer). I was a little disappointed, but it’s not a big deal. Happy hour is from 4 until 7 pm and has a few beers(best option is Shiner Bock), margaritas and some decent appetizers for $ 4 – 5. The food is pretty decent. I had the wings, my friends had the quesadilla and the enchilada. We’d recommend all of them. Service was oaky, can’t complain. Prices of margaritas are a little high if you’re not doing happy hour. There were a lot of families with small children here, even in the bar area, just to give you a sense of the atmosphere. I couldn’t really get a sense of the vibe. It wasn’t exactly family-friendly, but at the same time it didn’t seem like a #1 choice for happy hour and it was too low-key for a dinner date. I honestly felt a little bit like I was in a Red Robin.

This place has a decent happy hour they have yummy drinks. You have to try the strawberry and mango frozen drink. It is refreshing and sweet. They had a decent food menu for the happy hour, but there were not a lot to choose from. They had a lot of similar options. Tacos, quesadillas with different types of meat, and they had chicken wings. So there wasn’t a lot of variety. I got the chicken quesadilla and bbq chicken wings. This was all not bad at all– but not the best food I could get. The thing I have to complain about is the service. The server was super nice and I could tell he was trying his best, but they were under staffed. The guy was waiting tables, getting drinks, basically doing everything all by himself. I really felt bad asking for anything, but I could tell he wanted to make sure we were satisfied. They need to have more people working.
