I’m SO glad that I found this place! I don’t know much about cars and in the past I’ve felt like an easy mark paying for unnecessary services and repairs but not knowing for sure. It is such a relief to take my car to Hanagan’s and feel confident that they’ll give me an honest assessment of what needs to be done, do good work and charge fairly. I took my car in to them again today to check out my squeaky breaks and make sure it’s up for a road trip this weekend. I got a call a few hours later saying that they’d looked everything over including the breaks, nothing needed immediate repairs. There was some routine maintenance that could be done, but would wait until my next oil change. Best of all, they wouldn’t charge me for taking a look at it! These guys are the best and I’m never taking my car anywhere else!

These guys are great. They are not, despite their name, an Irish pub, but an auto body shop. I figured they were good when my husband went to them after accidentally hitting a deer; they returned his car in gorgeous condition, EARLY! Well, when I had my own accident, they also fixed my car perfectly. My front bumper and parts under it needed to be replaced, and it was all done in a week, including ordering parts. They even stayed open late when me and another customer had to come slightly after closing because of a long wait returning our cars at the nearby Enterprise. «Hope I don’t see you again anytime soon!» the nice lady working the desk said to me. While I hope that’s true, if you find yourself in a similar situation, I highly recommend you see the nice folks at Hanagan’s.

Great work! They repainted my car, and did a better job than the factory did originally. They use nice high quality materials. Nice people.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. They are consistently amazing. Every time I’ve gone to them, they have been honest, fair, and very kind. Everyone who works there is super nice and treats you like family (except for the dark-​haired woman who usually works the front desk, she has an attitude problem, is especially rude over the phone, and treats people like they’re bothering her). As a younger woman, I often get screwed or demeaned in auto body shops because mechanics assume I’m car-​stupid (I grew up in Detroit, I can change my own oil, I just don’t have the space to do it here, but definitely not car-​stupid). They have never made me feel like less than an awesome human being. I even now forego a family discount from another shop to come here. Recently I took my car in for an oil change and it was the least expensive oil change I’ve gotten in this area. They were done in a ½ hour (I had an appointment) and my car runs amazingly better than it did beforehand. While I was waiting, a couple of the guys offered me something to drink and one of the mechanics complemented my car on the way out. They also recommended a place to get my car inspection nearby, and it was a great place, totally reputable, smooth inspection with absolutely nothing shady to worry about. Then a few days later I brought my car to them because I switched residencies and didn’t know how I could attach the new plates to the front of my car. They bolted it on in 5 minutes for free and even changed the rear plate, even though I said I could do that one myself. I love them! I will never go anywhere else!

I contacted this auto repair company because of the Unilocal reviews and can now confirm everything you’re reading in these reviews is true. They have «can do» attitude, are very friendly and are very, very knowledgeable. First they fixed a falling undermount on my prius and changed the oil for a fraction of what I’ve paid in the past. They checked and corrected the air in my tires for free. Tony, in particular, was a gem. These guys are experts. Don’t hesitate to bring your car here!

Had my Mercedes Benz bumper painted. Its came out nearly flawless. There was one little itty bitty scratch that was still there. He offered to redo the entire job because they stand behind their work. Instead I just took a small deduction in price which I thought was very fair. AWESOME WORK and GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Why cant every shop, workman be like this!??

Excellent experience with Hanagan’s. They did an estimate for me and worked with me as I tried to navigate the insurance stuff. Their prices seemed fair and were in line with other estimates I received (within 10%). Most importantly, they did a great job on my car and it looked as good as new. And they did it within the stated time frame.
I worked with Sean, who I think is the son of the owner. He was really knowledgeable. It’s definitely a family business and they all seem to be very dedicated.
I will note that a few days later there was an issue with an electrical component. They told me to stop by at any time and they took a look and fixed it (it hadn’t been fully reconnected after the repair) in less than 15 minutes. Sean also gave me some advice on fixing an unrelated issue, which was helpful.
They have a cool little text messaging system that gives you an update on how things are going. I appreciated that. Nice touch.
Hopefully I won’t need any repairs again but if I do, I will definitely use them!

I’m glad that I trusted the Unilocal reviews and went with Hanagan’s for my repair. And if a concrete pillar ever jumps out in front of my car again, I will absolutely be going back to Hanagan’s. They were very honest, answered all my questions, and were very upfront about the cost and timeline of the repair.

Hanagan’s is THE best car repair shop in the area– From auto body work to a simple oil change.
I have no fear taking my car here, whereas other places I feel like I’m being taken advantage of. They don’t pressure me into any unnecessary work. I know the staff will always be honest and give me the best price; they treat me like family. The staff communicates well too, calling whenever there is an update.

I took my car to Hanagans because they have a special arrangement with my car insurance company. They really did a great auto body repair on my car – for $ 200 more than other nearby repair shops that do not have a connection to my insurance company. Also, when I reported that my hidden coin stash had been tampered with, they had a knee-​jerk reaction and automatically denied everything without listening.

I can’t say enough! I got my car repaired here after a car crash. I felt terrible that my car was so banged up, but the guys at the shop made it a seamless repair. I was told it would take about two weeks, but I got my car in 10 days. It was pricey, but I only had to pay the deductible. And my car… She was in tip top shape! Or so I thought!
A week later I was leaving church, when my car decided it wouldn’t start. I called AAA and they showed me how corroded and hideous my car battery was. Mind you, I got this car a year ago, supposedly brand new battery in at the time of purchase. The battery was corroded down through the battery cables. I was quoted $ 900 from koons ford in silver spring. I went on a limb and called Hanagans to let them know, though I wasn’t sure if it were caused by the car crash. They checked her out and fixed her for half the price!
I will never go anywhere else. I felt safe and valued as a customer and am raving about them to all of my friends and family!

I did a search on Unilocal to find a auto body shop near my job after a cab driver hit my car. I found Hanagan’s, and I am so happy I did.
From the very first time I walked in, I got that old school feeling. They just seemed like they know what they are doing. The atmosphere is real layed back, but not in a rude sort of way. I received an estimate in 15 minutes with a smile. They even put a quarter in my meter so that I wouldn’t get a ticket while I waited.
Two weeks later, I scheduled to bring my car in. They ordered my parts with a $ 300 deposit the day before I dropped it off. I took my car in on Wednesday, and it was ready on Thursday evening. They even offered me a ride back to work which is a couple of blocks away. I paid approximately $ 1000 (actually the cab driver’s insurance) in total, and my car looks better than before the accident.

Just got my car back after having been rear ended two weeks back. The other car insurance was Travelers and they were on their list. I checked Unilocal and saw all the 5s star reviews. Now I know why. Car looks brand new. Great to deal with over the phone and they seemed like they really cared and wanted to do the right job. I hope to not use them again soon but knowing the way people can’t drive I am sure I may return someday. Based on this experience, I would not take my car anywhere else. If Unilocal gave 10 stars Hanigan’s would get it. Jim G.

There are the premier shop in Silver Spring for auto body work. They are very professional and truly care about their clients. I will never take my car anywhere else!

I promised myself that I would not go to sleep until I wrote a review for Hanagan’s Auto Body. I am beyond pleased with the work that was done on my car. My back door was smashed in but now it doesn’t even look as if I was in an accident. I went to many places to get a quote and Hanagan’s didn’t try to rip me off, overcharge me for work I didn’t need done or try to get more money from my insurance company. Usually my dad would help me take care of stuff like this, but since he was not able to, I am grateful that Mr. Jim Hanagan explained everything to me in detail. You cannot go wrong with this place!

I visited Hanagan’s a few years ago when my car had a little run-​in with a hydrant. They were so easy to work with and did a great job — I would definitely go back (though I hope I don’t have to!)

I was referred to Hanagan’s by my auto insurance company, USAA and even though they are all the way in Silver Spring (I live in Adams Morgan), I decided to take a chance. They are FANTASTIC!
The work on my car was done quickly and well, the paint matches perfectly and you cannot beat their customer service– they were so friendly and really went above-​and-​beyond to help me. I really can’t say enough– great customer service and a friendly attitude is hard to find these days and they have it in spades!

Hanagan’s cares about its customers, a fact which is exemplified by their quality work and excellent customer service. I originally took my car there for some body work after an unfortunate run in with a column in my parking garage… I was new to the auto repair process and didn’t know that you should call ahead to schedule a time to get an estimate. They were able to fit me in anyway and I only waited a few minutes for the owner to take a look at my car and write up an estimate.
One of the best parts of the experience is the communication preferences form that they give you to fill out when you drop your car off. They ask how and when you would like to receive information and updates, either by phone email or text and whether you would like daily updates or just notification when the work is done. I think this small step goes beyond just providing good service as they make you feel that your time is important too and that they want to minimize the inconvenience of having work done on your car. They also worked seamlessly with my insurance company — USAA.
The location is a little unusual, although it is an easy walk to the Silver Spring metro. It is on a block with a dozen other auto repair shops and a little hidden however the building is clearly marked and there is metered parking nearby.
I have recommended Hanagan’s to friends and family and my sister has used them twice for minor body work on her car, even though it is not a convenient location for her she and her husband have been so impressed with the service and value using a trustworthy company that they feel it is well worth their trip which I think is saying a lot considering how many other auto body shops there are in the area.

I had a little fender bender on the way to work one day, so after a friend recommended this place and reading the reviews on Unilocal,I decided to get my car repaired here. On the same day I dropped it off, it was inspected and they gave me a date that the car’ll be ready. By the end of the week it was. It came out cleaner and better than ever before. They washed the car down and vacuumed the interior before handing the keys back to you.

I have to give this place 5 stars, not just for the help they provided, but the AMAZING customer service.
I recently had 2 license plate lights that went out and I could not change. Although this seems like a small task, it required opening the compartments in the trunk and prying open areas that i NEVER could have opened. Anyway — Thanks to Michael, I was off and ready to go in a matter of minutes.
I have had major car issues before and gone to other places that either tried to rip me off, actually ripped me off, or completely not repair the issue properly. So, it was a relief to have someone who genuinely wanted to help me get back on the road.
Thanks again for your amazing customer service — I will be back for whatever car needs that come! Ask for Mike!
