(((copied and pasted from my Google review of them))) I was really bummed by my experience there, since I go to Subway so often, and the Silverton one is the closest one to me. I went in on Mother’s Day to order some subs. It was dead in there, I was the only one inside the restaurant. As soon as I walked up to the counter, the employee sighed and rolled his eyes at me, which was my first annoyance. He didn’t ask me if I wanted cheese on my subs, or if I wanted them toasted, I had to ask for them when he pushed the subs to the veggie side of the counter. He had an attitude about that, but put the cheese on there. I asked for one of the subs to be toasted, but if he could put it in for half of the time.(It was for my wife, who prefers it this way so the edges of the bread don’t get hard.) He said, in a really snotty tone, that no he couldn’t do that. «We don’t do that here.» He said. «Uhhh, ok? Whatever…» I thought. I’ve come into this store plenty of times before and they’ve had no problems doing it. But the biggest issue I had was after that, when he put mayo on my sub, but only put one small line across it. I asked for a little bit more, and he said«No. That’s not the ‘subway formula’. We don’t do that here.»(he kept repeating that throughout my experience) I said I would pay extra if it was an issue, but he still refused. I was so blown away that this kid was getting so nasty about two more lines of freaking mayo. I almost walked out there and then, but had promised to bring home subs, so I figured, whatever and just put up with it. Then when he put lettuce on my sub, he literally threw less than half a handful on it with such an attitude that I couldn’t believe. The lettuce didn’t even come close to the edges. I asked for more on the sides and he refused again, using the reasons as he did before. Then he put exactly five olives on my footlong, very carefully placing them while sneering at me. At this point I’m really pissed off, but trying to stay civil. My wife used to be a manager at a Subway, and I remember her telling me that they are required to put 6 – 8 olives on a footlong. If this kid was going to be petty, I figured he could at least put 8 olives on there, since he wasn’t willing to do anything more. He stopped making my sandwiches so he could go look it up in the employee guide under the register. I mean, seriously?! For 8 olives?!(I was right BTW but that’s moot point.) I usually ask for more than that but I wanted to get out of there ASAP. He finished up, all while sneering and rolling his eyes, and the other employee there(Spencer) rung me up. Spencer seemed nice enough, but seemed reluctant to give me his co-workers name when I asked for it.(As a side note, in case the manager reads this, Noah was not wearing a name tag, or his visor, or his apron. He was also in a plain black polo, and not a subway shirt. Spencer was in full uniform, and very polite. I’ve been in here a few times before and had Spencer make my food, and he’s always been pleasant.) Anyway, I will not be going back. I live in Mt. Angel and I will take the extra few minutes to drive to Woodburn from now on and go there. I think in the past few years, we’ve seen customer service go downhill, but I have never in my life dealt with such a rude kid at a fast food joint or a restaurant. I was completely gobsmacked by how blatantly nasty Noah was. I’ve had issues before with the staff there being rude, but nothing this bad.(I don’t know her name, but there was a teenage-ish girl with short brown hair and glasses that was almost this bad. I haven’t seen her in there in a few weeks, though.) Maybe they shouldn’t be so focused on how many pieces of lettuce go on a sub, and work on their basic customer service skills. So anyway. Today was the last time. I hope they can get their crap together over there, but I’m not holding out much hope. (The Woodburn one is much much better, they are all friendly and can actually make a freaking sub.)
