I usually pick up a dozen donuts from Donuts plus on Sunday mornings. Been doing it for the better part of a few years and I think the family expects to see the pink box on the table once they crawl out of bed on any given Sunday. The donuts are good and are always fresh. To me, most donuts taste similar but the kids really enjoy them. I am really a fan of the pizza rocks. I too remember being in high school in the mid-eighties and heading over to get the pizza rocks from Ernie’s. These remind me of those. The service is quick and the owners are quite friendly.

The pizza rocks are obviously not Ernie’s but still satisfy my 10+ year old craving. They also made the perfect Father’s Day gift from a broke daughter ;)

Doughnuts aren’t bad. The woman employee left a bitter taste in my mouth. Instead of going to Starbucks or McDonald’s for my coffee, I would stop here in the mornings to support local, small business. I always left my change as a tip, every day. While this may not amount to more than 10 dollars, it was still something. One morning I went in to get a cup of coffee, as I always do, and I was short a few cents. Being the optimist that I am, I expected the woman who sees me every day to give me a pass, after all I always tip a few quarters. Nope, she was visibly irritated. I haven’t returned since.

Donuts plus has the best donuts in the valley! And all the staff is incredibly nice and friendly. If you’re ever in the area you MUSTTRYTHEPIZZAROCK! I’ve never had anything like it, and will definitely be making the half hour drive in the future! Be sure to ask for their son James, he’s the cutest!

This review is only based on the donuts you’ll come across at 12AM. Two words: Stale donuts I’m not sure whether the quality of donuts is better during the day, but the donuts you’ll find during the wee hours of the night are stale and dense. I ordered the donut holes, cinnamon sugar glazed, and glazed twist. I love my donut holes to be light and pillowy, but these donuts were as stale and doughy as those old boxed donuts you’ll find at your local chain grocery store. And the glaze was completely off – melted right when you got your hands on it. The guy working the night shift was busily making donuts in the back so I assumed those in the case would be rotated through the day and night, but they tasted as though they’d been left out since the morning. A star given for the laborious efforts that go into owning a 24-hour Anything.

Donuts plus is a good option for late night donuts and a spot to hang out if you’re really in a pinch. The food isnt bad, but it is nothing special either. Sometimes you get some sketchy people coming in late while you’re just trying to enjoy your late night treat and friends. They are cash only but have an ATM inside. The pizza rock is worth a try for the sake of curiosity alone. It is only a few bucks, you could realistically spend more on a donut.

Too many cake donuts, not enough of the puffy ones lol. But hey… it’s 24 hour…

Nothing negative to report but nothing spectacular either. Did not have the PizzaRock just your typical donuts-which were fresh and very good. No wi-fi(that I saw anyways or I’d hang out than more often). Clean facility, neighborhood local, nice people, indoor window counters and table seating, one outdoor table, ESPN on the big screen. Constant customers coming/going-which is a good sign. A lot of laundromat people traffic walking by. We’ll go again.

Mixed feelings — they DONOT accept credit or ATM cards, but are happy to let you use their ATM machine(located right in their store) for a $ 1.75 fee. This part makes me feel a bit«scammed». But, as long as you are using cash — their donuts are very good. No complaints at all about the quality of donuts. Not sure I will go back because of the ATM scam.

I was obsessed with the pizza rock as soon as I’d heard about it. Was told by a local that it was a Simi Valley classic. Bought a pepperoni pizza rock for $ 2. I think it was just microwaved so I would’ve preferred the dough a little crispier in a toaster oven. Not the most gourmet ingredients but I can see why the kids would love it.

2 words: PIZZAROCK. A blob the size of your fist filled with sauce, cheese and your choice of sausage, pepperoni or JALAPENO. $ 2. Unfathomably satisfying.

Since 1978 I had been going to Ernie’s Royal donuts up until the last week before they closed the doors and have been craving a «Pizza Rock»! Ever Since. After googling the pizza rock I found this blog and When I found out that Donuts Plus had recreated the infamous pizza rock I had to go try it, skeptical at first, I ordered up all 3 kinds, Pepperoni, sausage, and Jalapeño, As I took a bite into the first rock i found that there was a similarity, but nothing could replace the original Rock! Ernie’s sweat and love for the Rock could not be recreated as the original, but the attempt to give the people of Simi Valley hope is a valiant effort at Donuts plus, From the first bite it took me back to a happy place! Long Live The Pizza Rock! Thanks Donut Plus!

A big red banner screams«The Famous Pizza Rock Sold Here». The«Famous» being attributed to Ernie’s Royal Donut as in Diana C’s review describes perfectly. Could it be true? The glorious combination of pizza sauce, cheese and your choice of pepperoni, sausage, and now jalapeño; encased in dough and baked. I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical at first. I ordered a cheese pizza rock($ 2.00). From the first bite I knew that they had accurately recreated the recipe. Yes, it is true the pizza rock is alive and well, tell all of your friends and family. Thank you Donut Plus for filling this void in my life.
