My mom and I went for lunch and we were very pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and friendly service. The waitress was incredibly accommodating and helpful with my questions about the food, Im vegan and it can be hard ordering from some places. The food was excellent, the chef even came out to talk to us and mentioned that they were happy to accommodate any special food requests for vegetarians or vegans etc. Overall this is a great little spot, it has character and a soul which can be hard to find in Simi Valley. PS the veggie burrito is so good and there salsas are amazing!

This place is delicious and so authentic! It’s small and very cute and the service was great. The owner came and greeted us at the end of our meal and offered us desert on the house for Valentine’s Day… churros with Mexican hot dipping sauce! Yummy!

Solid 3 and a half stars. One of the better Mexican eateries in Simi. We usually get huevos rancheros or the combo plates. Always good service. Closed Mondays Don Cuckoo’s is 2 stars by comparison.

We tried this wonderful little place because of the hi rating here. Wow, absolutely the best Hispanic cuisine I have ever had. I had something I have not had in a long time: Arroz Con Pollo. Amazing. The chicken was so tender and flavorful, Vegas cooked just right, as was the rice and sauce, excellent. Also ordered the Guacamole appetizer: Best Resteraunt Guacamole ever had. Period. My lady had the Asada burrito and it to was excellent. What a great find. We will be back soon. The owner was very friendly. Even brought us several samples of what the offer in Salsas. And a sample of his hand made chorizo. The best is ever tasted. Not over spiced or dry, like most I’ve encountered. They have Taco nights on Tuesdays and Thursday where all tacos are $ 1.25−1.75.(The owner had to add the second night because the place gets so packed). Worth wait. Come here and enjoy the food.

Authentic Mexican food. So darn good! You can tell right away that the quality is outstanding, flavorful, and family recipes. Best Mexican eatery in Simi!!! Must try the molcajete which has(beef skirt steak) carne asada, grilled chicken, grilled shrimp, chorizo, melted cheese in salsa, along with my fav: grilled cactus! So yummy for my tummy!!! Fish tacos are my boyfriends fav.

This is the best Mexican food we have had in a long time, I have been wanting to give this place a try and I am glad I did. They are closed on Mondays but they are open Tuesday through Sunday. The employees are super super friendly. This is a family owned restaurant. It’s a small hole in the wall place. They brought us chips and salsa, very delicious :) We then ordered some guacamole, it is fresh made and full of flavor. We then ordered 4 tacos(2 Asada and 2 al pastor) by them selves, they were the best tacos we have had in a long time. We also ordered a Asada burrito covered in ranchero sauce, the burrito is really really good, the meat was juicy and loaded with favors from the marinate, and the ranchero sauce just added to the deliciousness :) I also ordered a 2 item meal, I got the shredded chicken enchilada and a carnitas taco, it also comes with rice and beans. We got all this food for $ 33, great prices! Totally worth it! This is the best Mexican food that I have ever had in the Simi Valley. It goes on the top of my list of best Mexican places to eat. I don’t have many Mexican places on my 5 star list, but this place is on my 5 star list now. They did not have an aquas frescas that day we went but I hope when We go back again that I will get to try the aquas frescas. You gotta try this place out, we drove from van nuys to try this place out, and we are glad we did. We will definitely be back again. 5 stars!

My husband and I were on our way to the Camarillo Outlets for the day. We usually don’t like eating at the outlet food court and we usually don’t go to the restaurants in the new outlet section. When we were on the 118, I did a search for breakfast and Luna Llena came up. I love Mexican food and they had great reviews so it was a no brainer. We ordered the following: Huevoes Ala Mexicana(eggs, tomatoes, onions and chorizo) with a side of refried beans and fresh fruit.($ 6.50). Yum, very good. It was simple and fresh. Crosissant Breakfast($ 5.75) — It had ham, eggs and cheese with a side of roasted potatoes. It was simple and delicious. The place was small and clean, with very nice employees. I will definitely go here again.

I was honestly so surprised at how good this place is! This is a total gem in Simi Valley. If you come here, you have to try they carne asada tacos. The meat is packed with juicy goodness and is so flavorful. I am in love with these tacos and I can’t wait to come back and have them again. I honestly think I’ll become a regular here. The guacamole is fantastic too. The ingredients are fresh and it has a tasty flavor to it. I highly recommend this place if you’re craving delicious Mexican food in the area. It’s phenomenal.

This place was awesome! Such a cute family run spot. My family and I went in to try it and we were very happy. The restaurant is family run and they work well together. Our waitress was the daughter, she was very sweet and happy to help. She is young so we had to request a drink refill but we also drink a lot of water. It was a nonissue really. The dad was the chef and when he heard we were debating about which sauce to put on a burrito he offered to put both on, one on each half. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was very friendly and we will definitely be back. Great food at a good price, what more could you want?

Just picked up our tamales for the holidays. The owners are super friendly and gave us extras. I love the food here but have not tried the tamales. In sure they will be awesome like everything else on the menu. One of the best local restaurants in Simi.

Get the fish taco. Its worth it. The Fish taco is dressed with cabage, pico, and sauce. The Carnitas and Asada(steak) tacos are classicaly dressed with onion and cilantro. All 3 cost less then $ 6.00 total. Head here on Tuesdays and Thursdays for discount tacos. Why not 5 stars? They could use a larger space for their tasty food

This location has been about a dozen different little restaurants in the decade I’ve been living in Simi it seems, some good and some, well, not so good. I have to honestly report that this current iteration of the eatery is by far my favorite. True, this was my first visit, and I’ve read good and bad about the service here, but for an initial impression I have to say we had a solid 4 star experience at Luna LLena(translated Full Moon). When we arrived, my buddy and I found that this little place was about half full. The wait staff was one young lady, and even though she was kept quite busy, we did not have to wait too long for service; she was doing pretty good I thought(they have about 8 tables or so). Menu’s came within a minute or so of being seated, and then the drink order was taken, and we were left to peruse the small, but tempting menu. They serve real iced tea, not that nasty stuff out of the soda machine you find at many places these days; this is the first«marker» of my rating system, and they get a great big ‘yeah’ here. Not a lot of choices on the menu, but that is really smart considering the small crew and this restaurant’s size. On the other hand, the choices the restaurant offers, beyond the basics, are quite intriguing and are definitely on my «next time gotta try them» list. My guest and I both opted for a two item combo, but I have to confess that the food looked so good when we did get served, that I dug right in, forgetting to grab a photo for this review, sorry, but the good smells from the kitchen got the best of me. If curious we both got a crispy taco(shredded beef) and an enchilada(mine was cheese with green sauce, and my bud got the chicken, both were amazing. The combos came with rice and beans, and these were also quite tasty. Not huge portions, but definitely more than enough food for almost anybody; I found the portions«just right,» to quote Goldilocks. All things considered, this new little find is on my short list for a quick return visit, and I’d say whether you dine in or get your order to go, give these nice people a try and maybe, just maybe, we can finally keep something tasty, and reasonably priced, alive on this end(East end, north of the 118) of Simi Valley. Oh, almost forgot, they take credit and debit cards with no up charges by the way, and that makes them handy for sure. UPDATE: We did get to try several of their street tacos on a subsequent visit. They were quite good, but not exactly my hands down favorites. The asada did not hold up to the salsa, and the carnitas was tasty yet slightly tough. Their al pastor was my favorite. So for street tacos my favorite place remains unchanged. Be aware that they are closed on Monday’s, there was a sign inside that said open 7 days a week, but I guess it was wrong.

** Suggest TAKEOUT, not dine in ** Fantastic Mexican food. Best I’ve had in California. This little, tiny restaurant will surprise you with just how good the food is. I had the fish taco and the Asada Beef Burrito. Both amazing. Also suggest the cheese/pork dip appetizer. Amazing. This facility is very small. Not many tables. Also, we found the service to be very lacking. It was my wife’s birthday and she had heard of Luna Llena so we went to try it out. I told the waitress it was her birthday and she was excited to try the food. The waitress replied it was HER birthday the previous week but she cried all day. It was awkward… Took forever to get drinks. They were only refilled when I walked up to the counter and asked. Service overall was quite poor. Was disappointed. The food here is 5 stars and definitely worth a trip. However, I’d advise take out so you’re not let down by the shoddy service and sad stories. I was torn when it came to the rating. Food: 5 stars Facility: 2 – 3 stars Service: 1 – 2 stars Luna’s food is so darn good, I’m going with 4 stars. Definitely try it, but GETTAKEOUT!

It was a Sunday afternoon and the husband and I wanted to try out a new restaurant in Simi. We’d seen Luna Llena many times as we drove past it on our way to Kohl’s or Regal, but we didn’t think anything of it. So, we did what any foodie would do, we Unilocal’d it. ^_^ The reviews were incredible so we quickly headed on over to try it out… As soon as we arrived we were warmly greeted by a young girl(owners daughter) and a lovely lady(owner). We sat down, looked over the menu, and first ordered the CEVICHE for an appetizer. My husband was curious about the HOUSEMOLE, he’d heard about it, but had never tried it before. So, when the kind lady came over and asked us if we had any questions, we asked her about the mole dish. She stated every fresh ingredient that was in it and after she said chocolate, he was sold. I ordered the SOFTTACOS(asada and chicken; you can order three different kinds) because I saw a picture of them on Unilocal and they looked so good! The CEVICHE came out and it was the most beautiful concoction of FRESHFISH, cilantro, tomatoes, onions, and lime juice! We grabbed a freshly made tortilla chip, took a huge scoop of the ceviche, and I immediately thought I was in Guadalajara! It was INCREDIBLY delicious and so FRESH! AND, the portion size was GYNORMOUS! … I could have been content with eating just the ceviche, but now I was even more excited about our meals! As you can already imagine, the HOUSEMOLE and the SOFTTACOS were AMAAAZING! The ingredients in each dish were so fresh and the flavors were so authentic! We devoured every bit of our meal… The food, the ambience, and the owners of the restaurant made us feel«at home» and it was such a great outing. We will definitely be going back to Luna Llena! Thank you Maria for your wonderful service and outstanding cuisine! ^_^

If I could put 10 stars for this place I would. This is the best damn Mexican restaurant in all of Ventura County hands down. The Buche tacos are freaking amazing and the Tripas Tacos have NO barnyard taste to them, they taste soooooo good. The Al Pastor has the best flavor this side of the border and that is saying a lot. This is my go to Mexican restaurant from now on and I mean it. Everything is fresh and made to order and that is something special. I highly recommend you come down to this restaurant and you will not be disappointed by the quality of the food! The owner of this restaurant is very heartfelt and really cares about her customers.

There are places to eat Mexican food in Simi Valley, but to my surprise none like this one. Many come and go because they lack quality. That is why of this review. This place has more quality than any other put together. In the 5 occasions I had eaten here I had always received the best quality, I look forward in my food. After working for more than 10 years in restaurants and been cooking since I was 6, it is very difficult to find a place that meets all of my expectations. I find it very refreshing to find a smile always upon my arrival and that instead of putting faces when I request something that deviates from the menu, they go much further than expected. They go above & beyond I’ll say just to please the customer. It is a pleasure for someone to want to please your whims, by simply asking, but more pleasure I feel eating their meals. I feel they still put love, pride and pleasure in what they do. Impossible to find it anywhere around. Undoubtedly … Full Moon is here to stay and will be there for my appetite to be suppress every single time! I’ll be back for sure.
