Nice little sports bar with a full menu. 15+ televisions makes watching your favorite team easy. Bar seating and booths /tables available for small or large groups. The menu features burgers, sandwiches, salads and sides. I had the chopped Cobb salad, which was very good. Reasonable prices and good service rounded out the experience. Will definitely stop by again.

The service was not good to start. I had to ask a waiter to ask my waiter to come see about our drinks. This blond waitress finally came and she just was not attentive as I think she should be throughout our time there. I noticed that we were the only hispanics there, so maybe that had something to do with it. Few places in Simi made me feel like this. Food was«eh».

Beware! Even if you are sports bar aficionado, you can do much, much better, on quality of the environment, food quality, and prices. First: Flies. Do I need to say more? Okay, I will. There were flies. Say no more. Next, the MEDIUM burger we ordered arrived(a million years late) totally overcooked, hockey puck style. Medium is the way chefs make and order burgers because that is the way you can enjoy the flavor of the meat and the juiciness of its umami. Ours arrived petrified. Second: Service. VERY bad wait staff. I don’t want to single out the person, because that is just too mean, even for me. But when you drop off the food, you should ALWAYS return a few minutes later to ask if everything is okay, or if you need to add a much needed condiment to your very dry, overcooked burger. That never happened. Also, they do not appear to employ any separate bus-boys or food runners, so that doesn’t help. Third: Price. Everything was way too overpriced for its level of quality. Still, I want it on record that I gave a 20% tip because I always do, and you should, too. But don’t eat here.

As local sports bars go, I really enjoy The Dugout the most. It features an inviting environment that is reminiscent of a Chili’s. The management attends to its customers. There are more than enough flat screens and any one will be set to your favorite channel upon request. There is a nice selection of libations. The wait staff is prompt and friendly, and the menu is varied. I personally wish the menu had a few more«healthy entrees.» But overall, whether for a workday lunch break or an evening’s outing, The Dugout always rewards.

Lots of great craft beer on tap. They now have a smoker. Try the smoked wings. Pretty good burgers as well and lots of tv’s showing sports.

My Fiancé and I have had multiple great experiences at this place. She left her wallet once, and the owner personally called her to have her come down and get her wallet. We had a question about the menu and once again the owner personally sat down with us and answered everything we had to ask. Sean, our waiter, was super attentive and respective towards us. We come here for every Patriots and 49ers game! We love the dugout!

My son and I decided to try this place out. We had garlic fries with our hamburgers(Texas & California) & it was all very delicious. They have quite a selection of beers, I tried the honey 805, nice and cold! Enjoyed the TV’s showing sports & the casual setting.

Kinda weird when first walked in, nobody said hi, but besides that everything was great! I had a couple of ice cold beers while I had lunch. My lunch was delicious too. I had the buffalo chicken fingers and chili cheese fries. I will be going back soon!

I went here at 530 p.m. to meet someone and arrived early. I was going to have beer to wait but there was no room at the bar. It was full of regulars apparently, they all knew each other, they were all talking and joking very loudly and rudely. One guy yelled out to everyone about some new guy at the bar to the whole place, disturbing their dinner. Some of these people have been there since lunch they were saying. They all very rude and obnoxious, the management didn’t do anything about it. As a matter of fact one of the owners was talking to a guy at a table as he leaned on a rail for over an hour. The bartender had a ball cap on backwards and was dressed like a slob. The place was dirty and run down in appearance. The waitresses had a hard time carrying on a conversation while tapping on their order pad. They have a bunch of t.v.‘s and only one decent sized one. Now the food, the food was any ordinary meal you would make for your kids at home. It was nothing special and not presented well. I got the brat and it was boiled and undercooked. It was not grilled after it was boiled and was not hot. The food came out about 3 minutes after I ordered. It makes me wonder if they prepared a lot of items before the dinner rush. They have a special menu for when a certain team is on and I wanted to try it. They wouldn’t let me until the game started which was in only 30 minutes. It was probably because the cook hadn’t prepared them yet. They have beer not a great selection but hard is that to mess up? One of the owners came by our table and asked if we got food but never looked at us as he talked to us. This place seems to cater to their regulars and not anyone else. I wouldn’t waist your time here, you can find better.

Worst service last night… Drunk assholes in the corner ladies arguments didn’t need to hear the B.S. The waitresses were all in the Dugout doing something instead of attending the customers. Ordered an appetizer and it came late almost when the dinner was being delivered 45 minutes late. The place was empty hardly any tables taken. Oh and an waitress eating her salad at the Bar while she was working then took a table order… The chili was really smelly oily and didn’t taste good at all. Complete bad ethics waitress need better training! Oh and we felt sick the next day after eating there.

I’ve been to The Dugout on a few occasions to watch football games. It’s not my «go to» place only because I live in the valley and don’t want to drive that far after enjoying adult beverages even in moderation. But every so often I’ll change it up and drop by. The service has always been good as has the food. And their beer selection while not huge does have enough of a selection to satisfy pretty much everyone. This past Saturday I opted to head there to watch the Army-Navy game. They had a large party from a little league baseball team taking up the upper tables near the games and the rest of the restaurant /bar area was about half full. A fairly decent crowd for not having a lot of good games on. I chose to sit at a high top table down in the bar area near one of the big screens that had the game on. Although they had music playing throughout the restaurant, they had the volume of the game turned up enough that those of us who were there to watch it could hear it without it interfering with anyone else’s enjoyment. I was interested in one of the beers they had listed and asked for a sample of it. Unfortunately the keg had just run out and the waitress(Susan) told me it would be a few minutes. After a couple minutes had passed, she came back and apologized, letting me know that they did not have another keg of that particular beer in the cooler. Bummer! However, I had gone there with a Plan B already in mind and decided to try to Dr. Pepper & Fireball. DELICIOUS! Now that I had the game I wanted to watch on and a tasty beverage in front of me, it was time for some food. I opted to start with the nachos. I was pleasantly surprised when Susan told me that I could get them with ½ chicken and ½ steak! Unfortunately after getting them, I wish I would have gone with just steak as it had much more flavor than the chicken did. The chicken wasn’t bad, mind you, it just seemed to be a little bland in comparison. All through my stay, Susan frequently stopped by to check on me and make sure that I had everything I needed, and seeing if I needed a refill on my Dr. Pepper. She was very attentive and quite personable. Although this was her first time having served me, she treated me like I was a frequent customer. As I said, the service has always been good, but she was above & beyond the younger«kids» that I’ve had as servers there in the past. As the game was winding down, Susan checked on me one last time and I decided to get the bratwurst sandwich to go for dinner later that evening. Unfortunately the fries lacked crispness by the time I ate them(my fault for getting them, knowing that they wouldn’t be eaten for a while) but the sandwich was absolutely perfect. I’ve eaten lesser bratwurst in authentic German restaurants! When Susan brought my to go order, she even offered a Dr. Pepper refill for the road! Like I said, above & beyond what I’ve come to expect as normal service from restaurants. Based on my previous experiences at The Dugout, I would have given them 4 stars for their solid performance each time I’ve visited. But the attention and personality of Susan certainly earned them the extra star in my book!

Being this is my first visit to this establishment, I’m always weary of trying new places, especially if they don’t seem to possess anything that makes them stand out in the crowd. However, I have to say I have been absolutely blown away by The Dugout and their attention to quality, customer service, and inviting atmosphere. My girlfriend and I arrived right at opening time, 11AM sharp. The hostess at the door promptly greeted us with a smile and told us the restaurant was ours and to choose wherever we preferred. We seated, given our menus, and immediately greeted by our server. Nolan was the gentleman who took care of us, and did an absolute superb job. He even went out of his way to ask his manager a question regarding a specific beef I was looking for, and gave me some info on their New Tap Tuesday events and where I could check to see when certain beer reps come by for their tap takeover nights. My chili cheese dog was amazing, made with real chili and cheese, not that canned stuff you get at the market. The ranch is definitely made well, lacking the typical store taste you find in the bottled varieties. Well cooked food served promptly still steaming on the plate! My evaluation of The Dugout is a solid 5 stars for being a stand up restaurant with courteous, friendly employees, and having fresh food that hits the spot without ANY hesitation. I WILL be returning soon!

Showed up at 12:30 for an afternoon chargers game and was seated at 12:45 which is perfect. Waitress came right over and got our drink order and beers were in hand very quickly. As the game got closer we reminded the waitress that the tv in front of us should be chargers. She said she would let someone know. We ordered food which came out quick and when delivered we asked for the game again as it was half way through the first quarter. We saw how this going so we ate quick and closed out the tab. We’re home just before half time to watch the football game we originally went there to see. Overall bad experience. They didn’t put one of three football games on any of the TVs. Lame and will not be back.

I came here last Sunday to watch football for my 31st bday. I came with about 35+ Rams Fan for the Rams VS Redskins game at the 10AM spot. When we arrived we had a portion of the restaurant saved for us which was really cool, so Kudos to management for accommodating us. The service & overall staff was pretty good, they even brought more tables over to our area when we asked. We might have overwhelmed the front counter when we arrived in herds at 9AM but once things settled down & the game started everything went pretty smoothly. I ordered sausage & eggs w/French toast. It was a typical breakfast meal. Nothing special but the French Toast was horrible. Later on i did order the Jalapenos Poppers & a Tri-Tip Sandwhich which was pretty damn good though i must say! Lesson learned, sports bars are good for Sports bar food, so shame on me! haha. In the end, the Dugout is a pretty cool spot & i would definitely go back! This is apparently a Washington Redskins hangout so for you football buffs that like them Injins, this is a place for u! When we left there was a pretty nice size crowd waiting to get in so be prepared to wait. My suggestion though if your coming to watch football on NFL Sunday is to go watch the AM games & Stay for the PM Games or else your ass is gonna be stuck outside in the sun!

Dugout is a sports bar in a contemporary outdoor multi-purpose mall with plenty of parking in an updated part of the Simi Valley. Like all sports bars, there is a plethora of wide screen TV’s showing baseball & soccer games at least in early June. There is a huge oval bar for just hanging out & tables around the periphery of the bar for more private dining. The menu is limited to sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, a bit of pasta, soups, salads, appetizers such as buffalo wings, French fries, onion rings, taco, etc. Nothing unusual or particularly«gourmet» since that would scare away all the sports fans. It’s a pleasant, wide open space & the volume of the sports programs is thankfully low so that a decent in-group conversation can be heard. There is a civilized touch to the Dugout despite its name since I envision a typical dugout to be a place to chew tobacco, spit, swear, & scratch your crotch. Our waitress was down-to-earth, friendly, & especially patient since we dilly dallied & couldn’t decide what to order right away. Since I did an extensive Sake(sah keh) tasting & pairing event the previous day, I wasn’t in the mood for alcohol so I can’t vouch for the drinks at the Dugout. I tried out their standard ice tea & found the taste to be rather flat & grassy like hay, but the«tropical» flavoured ice tea turned out to be perkier & fresher. 1) I ordered the Hot Buffalo wings which were for the most part the standard taste profile, but the wings here seem to be more acidic as though the tomato based sauce has more white vinegar for a more sour effect. Also, some other places cook their wings longer for a more caramelized texture, but the ones at Dugout is less complex & the meat a bit dry, possibly since it was not marinated in wine or some other marinade. Not bad, but there is a lack of a meaty Umami in the chicken wings or the tomato based sauce as though no fond de cuisine/broth was used. 2) California Burger: jack cheese, peppered bacon, and avocado. I was into lighter eating that day so I substituted the beef patty for turkey which was probably a mistake on my part. Unilocaler Rob B. commented that the beef burger was meaty, moist, flavourful, but my turkey was drier, bland, and felt as though it were a pre-formed frozen patty that may be been stored a long time. The turkey didn’t taste bad, but it was basically flavourless. The melted jack cheese was also bland & the texture was gummy & dried out. Looking at the cheeses on the other guests dishes, I noticed that they were basically similar to low quality supermarket generic brand cheeses. However, looking at friends’ salads showed a fresh array of salad greens, crispy, watery, cool cucumbers, etc. which showed a knowing hand although beware of the default factory manufactured«cheddar cheese» in with the salad. For the side, I decided to opt for the beer battered onion rings for an extra $ 2.00. The coating is thicker, breadier & is a bit cushier with a light crunch. I usually like onions rings with a thin, crisp batter, but the ones at the Dugout are good with a nice sweet onion flavor. BTW, there are different permutations to the ingredients that can be added to the burger for an added charge, of course: «½ lb. Angus beef on a brioche bun, served with Dugout French Fries, house potato chips, or potato salad. A turkey patty or chicken breast can be substituted at no additional charge. Substitute veggie patty for $ 1.00. Sweet potato fries, garlic fries, chili, fruit, or side salad can be substituted for $ 1.50.Onion rings, soup, cheese fries, or chili cheese fries can be substituted for $ 2.00. Add ons: extra patty $ 4.00, chili $ 1.50, avocado $ 1.50, fried egg $ 1.00, grilled onions $ 1.00, jalapeños $ 1.00, guacamole $ 2.00, bacon $ 2.00, pastrami $ 3.50.» I found the Dugout to be a pleasant place to nosh with friends for a very casual meal, or sidling up to the bar to have a drink while watching hunky men pushing balls or pucks around. The food at the Dugout is basic & butch as it should be since after all, it is a sports bar. 3 Unilocal stars for a hearty, filling meal that doesn’t cost an arm & a leg. PS For a more international slant to the food in a sports bar, Spring Bok offers a limited selection of South African fare. Pete’s Pili Pili Tiger Prawns are especially tasty.

We ventured over to The Dugout with 3 adults and 2 children to grab some dinner and watch some football on a Saturday night. The parking lot is shared by a hotel and several shops so it fills up fast on weekends. The restaurant itself is in an old Applebees building so you probably know the layout by heart. Booths around the perimeter with tables on the inside and a bar in the center. Along one wall there are some games for the kiddos to play. Basically this is your typical American family sports bar. When we entered the greeter told me there were some open tables but a party of 50 was coming in soon. We figured that we would get our orders in before the big rush so we grabbed a booth and sat down. Our waitress was very friendly and remained so throughout the evening. That alone started my rating at 5 stars. However, it wouldn’t remain there. Our cokes and waters came in large plastic cups which I enjoyed. I hate small drinks because I tend to drink quite a bit.(Photos attached.) My wife and her friend ordered a bottle of wine and this is where the stars started slipping from my rating. The wine tasted horrible, like it had gone bad in some storage room or something. The manager was kind enough to take it back and remove it from our tab, which I appreciated.(I generally HATE sending things back but when you pay for a bottle of wine there is a certain expectation of quality.) Next up were the nachos. They were pretty good. Not GREAT, just good. The chips themselves were very tasty but the toppings were just so-so. I didn’t like the jalapenos they used. I prefer ‘normal’ ones. The dish could have used a bit more cheese beyond the top layer because it was just chips after you ate the top. Islands has much better nachos and it’s just up the road. I ordered the hot wings for dinner. I am a HUGE hot wings fan and try them all over the place. I got the hottest version and they were pretty good. Again, not great, just good. Once again, Islands’ wings are better. The wings at the Dugout had poor texture and not enough meat. I was very BLAH about them in general. My wife had the Patty Melt. Overall, I thought it was very tasty. The meat was very good. My wife was disappointed because when the dish arrive the bread was very soggy on the bottom. She hates that so wasn’t a fan of the dish for that reason alone. At this point I was debating between 3 – 4 stars. We ordered our check because we had somewhere else we needed to be. 15 minutes went by with no check. I tried to get our waitress’s attention to no avail. Finally we stood up and walked to the front. Usually the threat of a dine-n-dash will get their attention so they will bring you the darn check. The girl(who had been very friendly all night) apologized and rung me out. In fairness, they were very busy but when I have somewhere else I need to be I don’t care how busy they are. I want to pay my fair share and leave. I tipped her a full 20% because she was working hard and was a nice server, but waiting over 20 minutes for a check is not acceptable anywhere at any time. Overall, Dugout isn’t a bad place but it’s not a good one either. Very mundane food. If you’d like to catch a game and relax with friends it’s a decent place. Just go in with proper expectations and you’ll have a good time.

After a recent SB game we decided to hit up The Dugout for post game drinks. Located in the old Applebee’s(which is evident by the familiar outdoor neon lighting), the parking lot is a bit difficult to access because of it’s proximity to the freeway. Middle of the week, the place was a bit on the quiet side. There were a number of patrons watching TV and enjoying themselves but the crowd was pretty mellow. I kind wish they would turn up the music or the volume on the TVs to help cut through some of the dead silence. It was the quietest sports bar I’ve been to in recent memory. Our group of 5 enjoyed some decently priced beers on tap and some typical sports bar food. The patty melt w/fries and the burgers seemed to go over ok. My friend was ambitious and took on the Shermanator which consisted of 3 burger patties, bacon, cheese, fried egg, and pastrami, and chili. I’m not sure if it actually tasted good or not but the visuals were quite the sight. Overall the Dugout is a decent place to hangout and watch some games. I’m sure the place is busier on the weekends which probably helps the ambiance. So the Dugout is «A-Ok» in my book hence the 3 star rating.
