Mediocre sushi and service. The sushi definitely needs more flavor and texture. Anything lacking the«spicy» label will most likely be bland. The waiter never bothered to refill my water; I had to ask him twice. Also, he did not say goodbye to me as I left the establishment. I would give 2.5 stars if that were possible

We actually walked out of another restaurant that couldn’t be bothered to get us a table. We were delightfully greeted with a smile and immediately seated at the sushi bar. Within two minutes had a couple drinks and miso soup was on the way. 5 stars for customer service and variety of great food!!! The sushi chefs were cherry and attentive. I really appreciated the great service at the end of a long day… when we were really hungry.

Ok Sushi in my opinion. The rolls were very big. It was not bad, but I have had better sushi. Service was ok on my opinion. The place was clean. There was ok seating. Parking was fine.

Wasn’t impressed whatsoever. Everything I ordered came out mushy and blah. Don’t approve the salmon, spicy tuna, or the yellowtail. Oh, and it’s warm. However, if you’re one of those people who ordered chicken at a sushi place… theirs is pretty good.

Fresh sushi at a real great price! The service is phenomenal! This is Simi’s best sushi bar!

My family loves coming here! They are always accommodating even when we show up right before closing on Christmas Eve. The prices are fair and the food is delicious.

Enjoyed a great lunch here and the three of us are enough for 5 lol. We left nothing behind! Enjoyed a number of random rolls, gyoza and some tempura. Service was pleasant and efficient, pricing was on par for what we ordered. Most rolls around $ 10.

I try to get to this place every other Friday… you know, payday. Either by myself or with co-workers as it’s right down the street from my office. I first came to love the lunch special spicy tuna as they are only $ 3.99. Then I found the Scallop roll and Squid roll. I ate them so much that one of the wait staff said«you really like those rolls, that’s all you get.» Then, my sushi pal and I sat on the register side of the bar and I was watching the boats float by with pictures of rolls that I have not tried. There is was, it was like there was a halo surrounding the picture and I swear I thought I heard angels singing was THECRAZYBOYROLL… I said I was going to try it and from that point on… I get that and whatever else I want but in my mind, there is not anything else left to try as nothing there compares to that scrumptious roll. It is crab-avocado inside and fried in tempura and cut in half. It is served with sweet ponzu sauce. I’m drooling now. I am crazy for he crazy boy roll.

Coming back after 8 years of being gone from the area. So glad to see Fune is still here and service and food hasn’t changed. Still my favorite sushi place in the area.

What I liked the most about this sushi restaurant was how friendly the staff is. I also liked their all day lunch special for about $ 8 that includes a small soup, rice, sushi, salad and teriyaki chicken. We tried their sushi and it tasted very fresh. We stayed at the hotel sharing the same parking lot and was able to return again the next day and the staff remembered us and were very friendly with us,

This was the very first sushi restaurant I’ve been to. The first time I came to this restaurant was back in 2004 when I first started college and I have to say the reason it’s still in business to this day is because it has the most amazing fresh fish you could possibly taste. The owner is also one of the sushi chef’s and he makes some amazing creations. I still remember to this day the first thing I ever ordered from this restaurant and it was a Hawaiian roll with extra masago on the top of it and it was delicious. The prices are also very reasonable and if you are in the mood for some good fresh fish I highly recommend stopping by this sushi spot.

Have been here multiple times, one of the best Sushi place I have ever been to … the food here is always fresh and delicious. The owner is very good and courteous, I reached after hours today and even the lights were out, at just 1 request he switched on the lights and the sushi station. kudos to the man … Thanks a lot, customer service at its best.

The only thing I do not like about this place is they have no rolls without rice. I am a fan of rolls without rice so I can really taste the sushi but sadly they don’t have any. Otherwise their rolls are delicious, staff is kind and caring, and their lunch specials you just can’t beat.

They have the floating sushi bar here But when I went there was no sushi in the little River around the sushi bar so maybe they only do it when it gets super crowded. I went at an off lunch hour so that might have been why Friendly service

I’ve been here several times before as it does not get busy and my kids can be a little loud without any issues. Prior to trying it myself, a lot of my friends have made comments that the place sucked and would rather Goto blue fin. Blue fin is good but way overrated. Fune in my opinion is really good and inexpensive. The fish is good quality and they are always accommodating to the kids. You may miss the décor of a blue fine but at least you are comfortable and can have a good time. In short, I love this little place.

Fune sushi was kind enough to open up late for us at 10:20pm after the Dugout’s kitchen was closed at 10pm(even though they are open til 11pm). We had a great late-night meal of sushi. The best part was trusting the sushi chef to create his own roll. It was spectacular! Great service, delicious sushi, hot sake. What else could we ask for? Thank you Fune sushi.

Sam, the owner, is a sweetheart! It has a very cute layout, the fune style with boats circling the sushi bar, and the place is very clean and classic looking. Sushi = good, not terribly inventive I suppose, but it’s good. The price for the lunch special is extremely reasonable, and you will leave FULL. I love the dragon roll, nigiri pieces, gyoza and tempura. Ask Sam for suggestions, he is happy to help, and he is very friendly, too.

Local favorite Japanese restaurant of mine. Here today for a late lunch early dinner. Venue: Small, clean, abundant parking, well lit, clean bathrooms. Food: Pretty decent. Excellent sushi, and nice combination dinners and lunches available. One of the best sushi places in Simi. Staff and service: I have been a regular customer for about 5 years. They are polite, friendly, and provide extra service in special gifts at the end of each meal. They are attentive and helpful. What more can one ask for? Value: Lunches run about $ 7.95 +tip and tax so $ 10 and dinners run about $ 12.95 +tip and tax so about $ 16. Very reasonable for the food and service of this nice sit down sushi place.
